Chapter 1120: Shadron Reborn
Chapter 1120: Shadron Reborn
Seeing he wasn’t inclined to elaborate, Khalil refrained from pressing further.
He trusted they would board in time.
For Amalia, this was her first attempt at merging with such a massive planet—one hundreds of times larger than Regnum Tellus.
Yet, it likely contained less energy than Regnum Tellus did.
The spaceship soon lifted off, soaring into the sky.
Amalia and Kenny Lin’s figures grew smaller and smaller until they were no longer visible to the naked eye.
Only the spaceship’s instruments could track them now.
"Lieutenant, shouldn’t we wait for them?" a soldier couldn’t help but ask.
"They probably have some unfinished business. We’ll wait in outer space. If the aliens’ battleship arrives while we’re still here, no matter how fast this spaceship is, it won’t outrun their ship," Khalil replied, his attention split between monitoring the ship’s systems and responding to the question.
At that moment, Tariq suddenly slapped Khalil’s shoulder forcefully.
Khalil thought he was about to rebel, but when he looked up, he saw the most shocking scene he’d ever witnessed.
"Shadron is collapsing?"
Shadron was a perfectly spherical shape, appearing like a gray glass orb when viewed from outer space.
For some unknown reason, the center suddenly began to cave in, as if an enormous force beneath was pulling it inward.
Typically, such phenomena occur due to a decrease in the planet’s gravity, which marks the beginning of a planet’s demise.
A collapsing planet eventually becomes a black hole, a harbinger of death and destruction.
"Boss, shouldn’t we start running?"
"No, wait. Amalia and Kenny Lin are still on the planet. Shouldn’t we quickly call them back and then immediately leave this place?"
"Look!"
Tariq suddenly pointed at the image on the screen.
Amalia and Kenny Lin were hovering mid-air, and the center of Shadron’s collapse appeared to be directly beneath them.
"I remember Kenny saying they had something to do. Could it be... could their ’business’ be causing Shadron to collapse?" Tariq swallowed his saliva hard.
The two benefactors possessed a level of power so immense that they could slaughter alien forces with ease.
That was something he could accept—if aliens could be that strong, then it stood to reason humans could be equally capable.
But making an entire planet collapse into a black hole with their bare hands?
What kind of logic was that?
It was utterly incomprehensible—such a feat shouldn’t be achievable through sheer human effort.
However, the feared black hole never appeared.
Half an hour later, the shrinking Shadron had diminished into a single black dot, and in an instant, it vanished completely.
"Huh? No black hole?"
When Amalia and Kenny Lin returned to the spaceship, Khalil immediately voiced their confusion.
"You might need to go inside and help settle Shadron’s residents again. You’ll understand once you’re there," Amalia said, without directly answering the question.
With a wave of her hand, she transported everyone into her small world, including Tariq and the others.
It wouldn’t hurt for them to take a look as well.
In the blink of an eye, dozens of people found themselves standing on a solid expanse of land.
The surroundings were barren, and a gust of wind swept by, feeling incredibly real.
Then, the ground began to rumble loudly.
What followed was a sight so astonishing that it left everyone speechless.
The earth was expanding—yes, expanding.
In the distance, they could see mountain ranges stretching farther and farther away, their view gradually obscured by newly rising peaks.
Dense vegetation sprouted tenaciously at their feet, as if time itself had accelerated.
In mere moments, the grass had grown to ten centimeters high, covering the landscape in a vibrant green carpet.
"Lieutenant... This can’t be real, right? Are we dreaming?"
Tariq rubbed his eyes, unable to believe what he was witnessing.
The world was expanding—yes, expanding.
It was enormous, and while the universe itself constantly expands, this wasn’t the same concept.
A world suddenly growing larger?
That was entirely unheard of.
Khalil couldn’t believe it either. "If we’re all seeing the same thing, then it’s not a dream—it’s real. This world truly is growing larger."
He suddenly recalled what Amalia had said when she sent them inside.
Her words about why Shadron collapsed and that they would understand the reason once they entered began to make sense.
A suspicion formed in his mind.
Perhaps Shadron hadn’t truly collapsed—it had been absorbed into this small world.
The fact that no black hole formed after Shadron’s collapse was evidence of this.
At that moment, a middle-aged man, who seemed to have been waiting for them, hurried over.
It was Nazir, a former mayor of a city on Shadron.
Before leaving, Khalil had tasked his subordinates with entrusting the small world’s management to him.
"Lieutenant Khalil, did you see it? This world is expanding!" Nazir said excitedly, his eyes filled with both exhilaration and a faint trace of fear.
Humans naturally harbor fear of the unknown.
"I saw it. The expansion is a good thing—it means everyone will have more space to move around," Khalil replied.
"But... is it safe? This situation seems to defy all logic," Nazir said hesitantly.
Khalil chuckled. "Everything we’ve experienced so far has defied logic."
The emergence of a creature from higher-dimensional universe?
Illogical.
The invention of Cosmorite Mechas?
Illogical.
And Amalia and Kenny Lin’s ability to effortlessly kill tens of thousands of aliens?
Also illogical.
What people called "logic" was often just the limits of their understanding of unknown forces.
As the saying goes: ignorance doesn’t negate existence.
Nothing in the universe is absolute.
"You’re right, Lieutenant. In this vast universe, we’re but a drop in the ocean. Having a safe place to live should be more than enough to satisfy us," Nazir said.
The sudden outbreak of war had stripped even the most arrogant of their pride.
"Enough talk about this. The world seems stable for now. You could organize a group to explore the area and see if there’s anything useful. I recall some people brought wild animals inside. Don’t kill them—who knows? They might thrive here."
