Former Interstellar Mercenary In Urban Cultivation World -
Chapter 1096: Escape from the Spatial Turbulence
Chapter 1096: Escape from the Spatial Turbulence
"For the moment, we should focus on finding a weak point to escape the spatial turbulence. Plus, there’s another concern."
Understanding his thoughts, Kenny Lin said immediately, "You’re worried we won’t be able to return to the Mystic Void Continent?"
"Exactly. I’m afraid the turbulence might scatter us to an unknown place," Wealth admitted, voicing the same unease that had been gnawing at Amalia.
In the past, many small worlds were created.
Although most of them perished, a few managed to survive.
This suggests that in other dimensions, there are other worlds as well.
The world Amalia lived in during her previous life was one such example.
"Then let’s give it a try," Kenny Lin said, pulling Wealth closer. "Tell us, how should we locate a weak point in the spatial barrier?"
"You can’t find it; only I can," Wealth sighed dramatically.
"Are you talking about the Regnum Tellus? Has this small world been bonded to you through a contract?" Amalia immediately caught on.
"Yes, the Regnum Tellus is currently trapped within the spatial turbulence, and we can’t escape on our own. We’ll have to rely on it. However, the Regnum Tellus can’t break through the spatial barrier, so we’ll need the Reincarnation Pearl to assist. The opportunity will be limited—probably just one chance. You’ll need to remain highly focused."
Wealth yawned.
Absorbing the Beast God’s legacy had drained much of his energy.
"Then get some rest and recover your strength before we begin," Amalia said considerately.
Wealth was so moved he almost teared up.
He wondered why he had been so foolish to latch onto a devil like Kenny Like in the first place.
But if he hadn’t done so, he wouldn’t have had the chance to meet his Mother.
"Are you thinking that I’m the mean Dad, and Amalia is the good Mom?" Kenny Lin asked with a mischievous grin.
Wealth hesitated for a moment, but his survival instincts kicked in.
He shook his head firmly. "Of course not. I love both of you!"
"You’re not being influenced by the Beast God’s memories, are you?" Kenny Lin asked curiously.
The change in this "son" of theirs was quite significant.
"Don’t you think he resembles someone?" Amalia interjected with a knowing smile.
"Certainly not me," Kenny Lin declared, immediately denying any connection.
Amalia let out a mocking snort.
Watching his "devil" Father lose face, Wealth chuckled to himself, feeling secretly delighted.
"I’m going to rest now," Wealth announced, obediently scurrying off to find a spot.
"Wait, I have one last question," Kenny Lin said, catching him mid-stride.
Wealth drooped his ears. "Fine, ask away."
"This Regnum Tellus—aside from the three of us, is there anyone else here? Like the souls or wills of the deceased?"
Wealth tilted his head, confused. "No, the Phantom of the Beast God was the last one. Once it disappeared, it’s gone forever. Nothing like that will appear again."
"And the other deceased elders? Could their spirits linger?"
"They’re not the Beast God. It’s impossible for their souls to remain intact for such a long time."
Kenny Lin looked satisfied, releasing Wealth and giving Amalia a triumphant glance, as if to say, See? I told you nothing could be spying on us here.
Amalia, however, was already shaking her head at his antics, her expression turned dark.
This drama king was constantly pushing boundaries.
She had thought there might be a limit to his behavior, but apparently, there wasn’t.
"Enough with the theatrics. We still have to locate the weak point in the spatial barrier. Do you think you can just do whatever you please?" Amalia said, her tone half-exasperated, half-amused.
Kenny Lin’s smile froze for a moment before he let out a scoff.
As long as he continued to think with his lower half, he’d always find opportunities.
If Amalia knew what he was thinking, she might very well crush his lower half on the spot.
They brought Wealth to a spacious and clean area.
After being set down, Wealth quickly fell into a deep sleep.
Time ticked by, second by second.
Three days later, fully recovered and re-energized, Wealth finally woke up.
In the days that followed, they began a month-long exploration.
Sometimes they rested when they were tired, and after resting, they resumed their search for weak points in the spatial barrier.
For an entire month, they had no idea where the spatial turbulence had carried them.
One day, they suddenly encountered a violent spatial stream.
The turbulence was ferocious, shaking the interior of Regnum Tellus.
Stones and sand flew everywhere as fierce gales repeatedly battered the small world.
"This isn’t good. We might have stumbled into a time and space torrent," Wealth hurriedly stabilized Regnum Tellus.
"What happens if we’re caught in a time and space torrent?" Amalia asked, her gaze serious as she looked at the golden little beast.
"We’d be lost in spatial turbulence forever. However, encountering a time and space torrent also presents an opportunity. A places like this usually indicate a nearby weak point in the spatial barrier. I’ll have to hold back the torrent, but you two will need to find the weak point."
Faced with the situation, Kenny Lin set aside his usual antics and joined Amalia in searching through the turbulence.
Half an hour later, Wealth’s small golden face, covered in fine fur, was already showing signs of blood.
He was nearing his limit.
"I found it!" Amalia suddenly spotted a black dot ahead.
"It’s right in front of us! Charge forward!"
Without hesitation, Wealth piloted Regnum Tellus toward the black dot.
As Regnum Tellus drew closer to the dot, an immense resistance suddenly appeared, barring their way forward.
Not only were they unable to advance, but Regnum Tellus was pushed back several paces.
The fierce gales grew even wilder, wrapping around Regnum Tellus like a predator trying to restrain its prey from escaping.
Kenny Lin quickly threw out his Yin-Yang Pearl.
The pearl landed in the black vortex with a buzzing sound.
A loud detonation echoed from the center of the black vortex, and the resistance vanished in an instant.
