Chapter 1094: Echoes of the Rift

"I understand. So, do you have a better idea?" Amalia retorted.

"Why not bring out Wealth and ask him? Since he inherited the Beast God’s legacy, he should know something."

Amalia thought about it and found it reasonable.

She retrieved Wealth, who was sound asleep.

Despite all their fussing earlier, he hadn’t woken up.

She was about to place him on the rock Kenny Lin had just been sitting on but suddenly remembered what had happened there earlier.

Frowning, she found another rock instead.

Amalia called Wealth’s name a few times, but he didn’t respond.

For a moment, she worried that something had gone wrong with him, but then she heard his familiar snoring and felt relieved.

Kenny Lin walked over and slapped Wealth on the face.

Slap!

Wealth jolted awake and staring blankly at his two parents.

His cheek stung with a burning sensation.

Inside the Spirit Gathering Gourd, a small wandering spirit saw this and instinctively shrank back, looking as though it could feel the pain.

"Why does my face hurt so much?" Wealth rubbed his cheek, realizing it was actually swollen.

"Your dad thought something was wrong with you and gave you a little slap. Luckily, you’re fine," Amalia explained, trying to salvage Wealth’s probably wounded pride.

Wealth pouted.

His heart was already broken.

He wasn’t suffering from memory loss; he remembered perfectly well that his dramatic Father enjoyed picking on him.

"You can talk now?" Kenny Lin raised an eyebrow at him.

"Of course, the descendant of a Nine Heaven Pixiu wouldn’t be mute," Wealth replied disdainfully, shooting his Father a glare.

Kenny Lin slapped him again, though this one was much lighter, almost like a pat.

Still, Wealth looked extremely aggrieved and threw himself into Amalia’s arms, hoping for some comfort.

Just as he was about to snuggle in, Kenny Lin grabbed him by the collar and pulled him away.

"This is my territory. Yours is over there," Kenny Lin said, depositing him onto a cold, hard rock.

Wealth looked at his Father with deep resentment. "I’m really strong now."

Just wait until I fully absorb the Beast God’s legacy—then you’re done for, he thought to himself.

Kenny Lin bared his teeth in a grin. "Do you believe that even if you were at the Body Integration Stage right now, I could still kill you with a single strike?"

Wealth shivered.

He believed it.

He absolutely believed it.

The lingering aura of a Body Integration Stage cultivator still hadn’t dissipated from the air.

Wealth finally understood: his Father was still his Father, and he was still the little turtle.

A little turtle trying to go up against its Father?

Impossible.

Absolutely impossible.

"Father, I won’t dare anymore!" Wealth, ever the opportunist, immediately dove at Kenny Lin’s feet and clung to his leg tightly.

Kenny Lin didn’t kick him away.

Instead, he turned to Amalia and asked, "Why does our son seem to be getting more and more opportunistic?"

"Yeah, thanks to a certain someone," Amalia retorted irritably.

She suspected that Wealth turning out like this had a lot to do with a certain someone.

Then again, she couldn’t say he wasn’t like this before—after all, back then, Wealth couldn’t talk, and his ability to express himself was quite limited.

Kenny Lin shifted his gaze back to Wealth, nudged his leg, and said, "Alright, get up. Tell your mom and dad about the situation with the Regnum Tellus."

"The Regnum Tellus? What’s wrong with it?" Wealth asked blankly.

In the next second, he seemed to sense the situation on the Regnum Tellus.

"What the—Fu*k?! Sh*t! What’s going on? Why are we floating around in a spatial rift?" Wealth jumped up in shock, his reaction over the top.

Before Amalia could respond, Kenny Lin smacked the back of Wealth’s head.

Thwack!

"Watch your language! Where did you learn to talk like that?" Kenny Lin scolded.

Wealth rubbed his head, dazed. "What do you mean, ’where did I learn it’?"

Amalia watched this lively scene and rubbed her temples again.

She had a feeling that things were about to get even more chaotic in the near future.

"Alright, stop messing around. And you," she said to Kenny Lin, "stop hitting him on the head all the time. He already looks a bit silly—what if you make him completely stupid?"

Amalia then gave Wealth a quick rundown of the current situation.

"So, that’s how things are. In the legacy you inherited, is there any way to explain how people stuck in a spatial rift might get out?"

Wealth sifted through his memories. "Theoretically, it’s impossible. Even a Mahayana stage cultivator can’t stay in a spatial rift for long. However, the Regnum Tellus is essentially a small world. Its boundary walls can hold out for a relatively long time."

"’Relatively long’?" Amalia frowned. "Does that mean it’s still risky?"

"Other small worlds might hold out better, but the Regnum Tellus was previously damaged, so it’s more problematic. Still, it should last about a hundred years without issue."

"Do you think we’d really be floating in a spatial rift for a hundred years?" Kenny Lin shot him a skeptical look. "Tell us how to get out."

Afraid of being hit again, Wealth replied decisively, "You need to find a weak spot in the boundary and break through the space to escape."

"How do we locate such a weak spot?" Amalia asked.

"That depends on luck. A spatial rift—more accurately, a spatial turbulence zone—exists in the cracks between dimensions, filled with the most violent energy in existence. To find a weak spot, you’d need external assistance."

"You mean like those spatial rifts over Earth’s oceans?" Amalia immediately caught on.

"Yes, but those are rare exceptions. I suspect that the spatial rifts on Earth were connected to Father’s Reincarnation Pearl. The Reincarnation Pearl is an ancient treasure with the power of reincarnation. It’s a divine tool capable of piercing through dimensional walls with ease."

Before Wealth realized what he had just said, Amalia and Kenny Lin exchanged a sudden, meaningful glance.
