Chapter 1090: The Rift Expands

Anyone whose plans were on the verge of success, only to be disrupted at the last moment, would naturally be furious.

While others speculated about Tian Wuya’s identity, Taipai Wuying’s face showed sheer shock.

"How... how can it be you? I thought you had perished!"

Tian Wuya turned around to him with an eerie glare. "Who told you I was dead? Even if Digong Cao that sly fox, is gone, I will never fall."

Digong Cao was the Great Elder of the Eternal One Sect, the strongest cultivator in their ranks.

A sudden realization struck Taipai Wuying, leaving him thunderstruck. "You... you’re that girl master!"

Tian Wuya sneered. "It seems my disciple has truly been ’well-cared-for’ by your Eternal One Sect. You dare bully my disciple? You must have mistaken me for some feeble housecat."

Taipai Wuying hesitated, torn with indecision now that he knew Amalia was Tian Wuya’s disciple.

Tian Wuya was nearly of the same generation as Digong Cao, although Taipai Wuying himself was not.

Digong Cao had once warned him that the most dangerous top-tier cultivators were those without burdens, and the fiery-tempered Tian Wuya was exactly such a person.

Digong Cao had advised that if Tian Wuya was still alive, he should avoid provoking her at all costs.

Who would have guessed that Amalia was Tian Wuya’s disciple?

It’s no wonder she showed no deference to the Eternal One Sect.

Their repeated conflicts had made reconciliation impossible.

"Master, it’s not just the Eternal One Sect. Wanhua Yun and Daehan Zhang also want to harm me," Amalia’s voice came through the spatial rift, omitting the names of Qixi Yumen and Xinhui Shang.

The latter two were backed by major sects.

For now, the Green Lotus Sect wanted to avoid conflicts with too many factions, lest they band together.

However, Wanhua Yun and Daehan Zhang, with no strong affiliations, were a different matter.

"Of course, These people will pay for their actions..." Tian Wuya declared before slashing fiercely at Taipai Wuying without hesitation.

Her blade differed from Master Lian’s sword; it embodied raw power, brutal and unyielding.

Taipai Wuying hadn’t expected Tian Wuya to attack mid-sentence.

He dodged the attack clumsily but couldn’t fully evade.

The ferocious blade light pierced his defenses, leaving deep wounds across his body.

Knowing now that Amalia was Tian Wuya’s disciple, he abandoned any hope of capturing her alive and chose to retreat while fighting.

Meanwhile, Asmodeus stopped hesitating.

Whether or not Tian Wuya spoke further was irrelevant—an old-generation powerhouse, likely a contemporary of Master Lian, wouldn’t last forever.

If this person pushed too hard, she might also attract a tribulation.

Asmodeus immediately launched a fierce attack on Master Lian.

"Tian Wuya, get back here! This devil is targeting me!" Master Lian called out, sensing Asmodeus’ murderous intent.

Tian Wuya halted his pursuit of Taipai Wuying and turned back.

Her blade light swept through the battlefield, some targeting Asmodeus, and most slashing toward the severely wounded devil.

The heavily injured devil managed to evade most of the blade light but was still struck by a few.

Once the violent energy invaded its body, it began wreaking havoc unchecked.

"Asmodeus!" the devil cried out in alarm.

Emperor level Devils were rare even among the devil race.

Having already lost one, Asmodeus couldn’t afford for this one to die as well.

He reluctantly abandoned his pursuit of Master Lian.

"Not much to speak of. I thought you’d be stronger," Tian Wuya scoffed disdainfully.

After saving his comrade, Asmodeus’ expression darkened.

He glanced at the composed Master Lian, then at the overbearing Tian Wuya.

It was clear to him that the unanticipated arrival of this interloper had completely ruined their plans.

"Leave this to me," Asmodeus transmitted telepathically.

The devil knew it was useless to stay and fight and nodded decisively, fleeing without hesitation.

"What’s this? Running away as soon as you realize you can’t win?" Tian Wuya taunted while sending an attack as she spoke.

Her strikes were as volatile as her personality.

Master Lian detected a wave of spiritual sense in the air. "Be careful. He’s sending a message to Taipai Wuying. Stay alert."

"Let him try! If he has the guts, he can face me head-on," Tian Wuya retorted with a cold snort.

"Asmodeus is both courageous and cunning. He knows the plan has failed and is surely scheming something else now. It’s best to stay vigilant," Master Lian warned.

"Understood," Tian Wuya replied.

The moment her words fell, both Taipai Wuying and Asmodeus moved simultaneously.

"Taipai Wuying, you dare make a move again? If you don’t die this time, I’ll personally visit the Eternal One Sect to claim your corpse," Tian Wuya roared, her blade cleaving through the void.

The strike split the air, unleashing a torrent of black gales.

Taipai Wuying now desperate, didn’t hesitate.

He unleashed a mysterious object from his chest, ignoring whether Asmodeus was lying or not.

For now, their interests were aligned, and Asmodeus did not betray him.

Instead, Asmodeus immediately engaged Tian Wuya in combat while the object streaked toward Master Lian and detonated.

Master Lian’s eyes glinted as he intercepted the attack with minimal effort, using only a fraction of his power.

Boom!

The spatial rift behind him suddenly expanded, releasing a torrent of chaotic energy as unexpected events began to unfold.

Master Lian turned to look at the rift.

Black gales surged uncontrollably, spilling outward in violent torrents.

The surrounding space could no longer withstand the strain, fracturing and collapsing with deafening roars as the gales ravaged everything around them.

"Tian Wuya, stop playing around. Things are getting complicated. The devils have altered their plans," Master Lian’s voice suddenly echoed in her ears.

Tian Wuya glanced back to see the spatial rift, now over ten meters wide.

"Celestial Blade of Annihilation!"

With a furious shout, Tian Wuya unleashed a devastating strike.

Asmodeus sensed the immense threat and roared in fury.

The veins on his bluish-green face bulged as his body pulsed with ominous black energy.

After delivering the slash, Tian Wuya ignored the devil entirely, turning decisively to strike at Taipai Wuying, confident in her blade’s devastating power.

Taipai Wuying, resolved to die rather than yield, aimed to collapse the forbidden grounds entirely into the expanding spatial rift.

If he couldn’t have it, then it would be destroyed.

As the rift grew larger, the battle outside the forbidden grounds became completely obscured to Amalia and Kenny Lin, who were watching from within.

The forbidden grounds began to shake violently.
