Chapter 1088: Asmodeus

He had a family, but it was just one city—so what?

In the future, when he becomes the strongest person on the Mystic Void Continent, who would dare oppose him?

He could build a grand sect of his own if he pleased.

As for Daehan Zhang, his motives were even simpler.

As a wild cultivator without attachments to his descendants, he didn’t hesitate at all when the treasures appeared.

Simultaneously, Qixi Yumen and Xinhui Shang also withdrew, their departure even more decisive.

By leaving now, they could secure the treasures and avoid becoming mortal enemies of the Green Lotus Sect—a win-win situation.

"Hahaha!" Master Lian let out another hearty laugh. "Schemes upon schemes, yet all for nothing. Taipai Wuying, you’ve conspired with the devils, and today, I shall slay you!"

His voice resonated across miles, echoing clearly for anyone within ten thousand meters to hear.

"Lian Qinglan, don’t think losing two allies means you can act unchecked! If you unleash your full strength, the heavenly tribulation above won’t be hesitate anymore. You’ll fall regardless, and my goal will still be achieved!" Taipai Wuying gritted his teeth, glaring hatefully at the spatial rift behind him.

He knew Amalia was still inside, as were the treasures and the three Pixiu.

Those devils had willingly sacrificed themselves to distract the other Mahayana stage cultivators.

However, because the Pixiu had made a choice to become bait to lure people from the battle, it creates a significant flaw in Taipai Wuying’s otherwise perfect plan.

"Is that so? Then let’s see who dies first—you or I, after I transcend this tribulation!" Master Lian ignored the brewing heavenly tribulation above him and attacked decisively.

Although he aimed to kill Taipai Wuying, his main target was the two devils.

Their combat strength had already dropped to less than fifty percent.

If he could eliminate them, dealing with Taipai Wuying afterward would be much easier.

"Why did Wanhua Yun and the other Mahayana stage cultivators leave?" a disciple of the Green Lotus Sect asked in confusion, standing far from the battle.

"The Pixiu fled with the treasures, and the Mahayana stage cultivators have gone after them!" Peak Master Mengyao Hualin’s voice suddenly rang out, deliberately loud enough for others to hear.

The news spread quickly among the onlookers, prompting some Body Integration stage cultivators to form groups and cautiously head toward the direction of the fleeing Pixiu.

The allure of treasures was too great, tempting many to brave the dangers.

Even knowing they might face Mahayana stage cultivators, they couldn’t resist the thought of profiting if the stronger ones ended up fighting to a standstill.

The crowd of spectators thinned rapidly.

Those who stayed behind weren’t immune to the lure of the treasures—they simply had enough self-awareness to recognize the risks.

"Hualin always reacts quickly," said Peak Master Bomen Huaguo with a thumbs-up.

"Not bad, just passable," Peak Master Mengyao Hualin replied, his lips curving slightly.

However, his expression remained grim as he glanced at the thunderclouds overhead.

"These tribulation clouds won’t dissipate easily unless Master Lian refrains from using his power."

"Indeed. Even though four Mahayana stage cultivators have left, Master Lian’s crisis is far from over."

Despite resolving the danger of others coveting their treasures, the crowd’s expressions remained heavy with worry.

At the center of the battlefield, Master Lian swung his sword, striking a retreating devil.

The sword light slashed through the air, and although the devil avoided part of the attack, the remaining energy pierced its body.

Wounds gaped open, flesh turned outward, yet no blood spilled.

The devil’s strength plummeted to less than thirty percent.

Master Lian pressed his advantage, his violet figure appearing abruptly before the weakened devil.

He brought his sword down in a decisive strike.

"Boom!"

A violent explosion of spiritual energy erupted between them, sending Master Lian flying back in a slightly disheveled state.

Before he could steady himself, an even stronger killing intent surged toward him.

"You finally revealed yourself, huh." Master Lian sneered softly.

A black sword aura appeared out of thin air, slashing through the void with deafening explosions echoing in its wake.

Taipai Wuying’s face darkened.

A new devil had arrived—another Emperor level devil, no less, its power rivaling the previous two and even more formidable.

"Asmodeus, you’ve been hiding in the dark for so long, and now you finally dare to come out?" The glowing eyes of Master Lian turned toward the source of the voice.

Taipai Wuying’s expression changed again, and he retreated without hesitation.

He had dared to join forces with two devils against Master Lian because he was confident in his ability to hold his own against them.

But if the infamous Asmodeus was involved, that was an entirely different matter.

Taipai Wuying had only encountered Asmodeus once, but tales of his exploits were legendary.

As one of the most powerful Emperor level devils, Asmodeus had once fought three Mahayana stage cultivators single-handedly without defeat.

His astonishing feats were well-known across the Mystic Void Continent.

And now, Asmodeus had arrived.

Asmodeus’ towering and intimidating figure emerged from the void, his cold, ruthless gaze ignoring the injured devils nearby.

"I am not like them. Unless you go all out, you won’t defeat me," Asmodeus declared indifferently.

"The same applies to you," replied Master Lian, his tone calm, even laughing. "Soon, others will realize you’ve left your lair. At that point, who will be the hunted, Asmodeus? Have you considered that?"

"Lian Qinglan, not everything goes according to your plans. Did you foresee today’s events?" Asmodeus scoffed.

"You sacrificed two Emperor level devils just to deal with me. Was it worth it? Nurturing Emperor level devils can’t be easy," Master Lian retorted while recovering his strength as he spoke.

"There’s no need for your concern," Asmodeus said coldly, giving him no chance to regain his power.

He struck with a punch.

The space around them instantly collapsed, fierce winds erupted into the void, and the world was enveloped in darkness.

Even within the forbidden grounds, Amalia and Kenny Lin couldn’t see what was happening.
