Chapter 1061: Clash for the Treasure Vault

"Who are you?" Deoksu Yin demanded, his gaze locking on his attacker.

To his surprise, it was another human cultivator.

"You’re not the Pixiu. Which faction are you from?"

"What do you think you’re doing?" Kenny Lin’s expression was dark and menacing.

His strikingly handsome features seemed shrouded in a stormy haze as he glared coldly at Deoksu Yin.

Not recognizing Kenny Lin, Deoksu Yin quickly explained, "Fellow Daoist, I’ve discovered the treasure vault of the Pixiu. Your strength is impressive—why don’t we work together? If we attack this door together, we’ll break through in no time. Once inside, we can split the treasures evenly and leave without anyone knowing. What do you think?"

"Sounds good," Kenny Lin replied coldly.

Before Deoksu Yin could respond, Kenny Lin struck again.

A torrent of sword energy surged forth, engulfing Deoksu Yin like a tidal wave.

"You insolent fool! I was willing to split it evenly with you out of generosity, yet you—a mere peak Diety Transformation stage cultivator—think you can claim everything for yourself!" Deoksu Yin roared furiously when his opponent attacked without a word.

He immediately retrieved his weapon to block the strike.

More sword energy came rushing at him, and suddenly, a thought flashed in his mind, explaining the familiarity of the attack.

"You’re a cultivator from the Green Lotus Sect, aren’t you?"

Indeed, this destructive sword energy was unique to the Green Lotus Sect’s disciples.

"What if I am? What if I’m not?" Kenny Lin replied indifferently as he unleashed wave after wave of relentless sword energy.

Deoksu Yin managed to fend off some of it but couldn’t block it all.

In moments, his robes were torn to shreds, leaving him in a sorry state.

"This fellow Daoist, our real enemies are the devils and demonic beasts. Why must we turn on each other? If a 50-50 split doesn’t work for you, how about 60-40? You take the 60. What do you think?"

Deoksu Yin had always been wary of Green Lotus Sect disciples, especially sword cultivators.

Among the Green Lotus Sect, sword cultivators who had mastered their craft could easily slay opponents of higher cultivation levels.

Although his opponent was only at the peak of the Deity Transformation stage, Deoksu Yin dared not underestimate him.

Kenny Lin didn’t respond verbally but continued his attacks, which grew sharper and more precise.

Deoksu Yin cursed under his breath, suspecting the man’s greed was insatiable—even 60% wasn’t enough for him.

"Fine, 70-30! That’s the best I can offer. Otherwise, even if you take everything, you won’t be able to hold onto it. If you keep hesitating, others will notice the commotion here. When that happens, you’ll be lucky to get even 10%!"

Kenny Lin replied with a mocking chuckle, and the Yin-Yang Pearl in his dantian suddenly erupted with power.

A stream of white energy flowed outward.

Seeing no response but scornful laughter, Deoksu Yin’s heart sank.

He had believed offering 70% would be enough to tempt this man.

To his dismay, his opponent’s resolve was unshaken.

Although he spoke of giving Kenny Lin 70%, Deoksu Yin had no intention of keeping his word.

He had planned to direct other strong cultivators’ attention to the man once the treasures were in his hands.

But with his offer rejected, his scheme was foiled.

He had no choice now but to kill Kenny Lin.

Deoksu Yin’s gaze hardened.

He retrieved a defensive shield to block the cascading sword energy, then charged forward, aiming to close the distance between them.

As if perfectly timed, a streak of sword light struck Deoksu Yin’s shield.

The light shattered into countless fragments of sword energy.

Realizing the danger, Deoksu Yin quickly raised his weapon to parry, but a sliver of sword energy ricocheted off his weapon and struck his eye.

"Ah!"

Deoksu Yin let out a piercing scream.

One misstep led to another, and things quickly spiraled out of control.

More and more sword energy pierced his body.

Once inside, the sword energy began corroding his spiritual power, and a sharp, burning pain spread through his meridians.

"Impossible! How can your sword energy do this?" Deoksu Yin exclaimed in terror, retreating in desperation.

He could feel his spiritual power draining rapidly, his meridians aflame as if an inferno raged within him.

Kenny Lin hadn’t expected that after absorbing a portion of the Phoenix True Flame into the Yin-Yang Pearl, the energy it released would have such a dramatic effect.

"Spare me! I’ll leave immediately!" Deoksu Yin turned and began frantically attacking the formation.

No matter how tempting a treasure might be, it could only be enjoyed if one stayed alive.

"Die!"

Kenny Lin showed no mercy.

Sword energy slashed across Deoksu Yin’s back.

With a shriek of agony, Deoksu Yin’s breath gradually weakened until his body collapsed to the ground with a dull thud.

Kenny Lin approached, intending to retrieve the corpse and the storage pouch it carried.

Suddenly, a primordial spirit shot out from Deoksu Yin’s body and fled into the distance.

Kenny Lin cast a single glance before casually flicking his hand.

A streak of sword energy struck Deoksu Yin’s fleeing primordial spirit, shattering it into nothingness.

As he prepared to turn his attention away, something unexpected occurred.

From the spot where the primordial spirit dissipated, a wisp of black energy darted into his body.

Alarmed, Kenny Lin immediately turned his focus inward.

To his surprise, the black energy was absorbed by the Yin-Yang Pearl.

On the dark side of the Yin-Yang Pearl, the black wisp seemed to radiate satisfaction, as if it had just consumed a delectable meal.

Since the substance didn’t appear harmful, Kenny Lin dismissed it from his thoughts.

He returned to the treasure vault where Amalia was in secluded cultivation.

Sensing that everything inside was calm and stable, he considered his next move.

Deciding to remain vigilant, he stationed himself in front of the vault door.

"I won’t let that happen again," he muttered to himself.

"Vryss’laar, teleport someone nearby here," Kenny Lin ordered through their communication link.
