Chapter 1431: Chapter 992 The Great Speaker Drags the Coffin
In the same direction of the Boundless Space Hole, not long after the Light Point Fortress lit up, another light emerged a few days away. However, this light lasted only for a short moment and could be easily missed if not watched closely.
At this time, the whole Alliance and Empire were unaware of how many Astrological Mirrors were aimed towards the direction of the Boundless Space Hole, and many had witnessed the red light that ripped through where the light points were.
Suddenly, a crack appeared in the void where there was nothing before. It wasn’t wide, barely four or five meters at its widest, but incredibly long, stretching for millions of meters, with intense red light bursting forth.
It was as if a blade had sliced open the void, exposing a corner of a massive fireball hidden within. Even with millions of meters in length, it could not fully reveal the entirety of the fireball.
With a swoosh, the Great Speaker, who had been prepared, stepped onto a line of coffins. Along with the gushing red light, he slipped out through the crack, then the rift swiftly closed. Aside from the lingering heat, it was as if the rift had never existed.
Great Speaker let out a breath, wiped the nonexistent sweat from his face–Necromancers don’t sweat. The wrinkly appearance clearly identified him as a Necromancer.
The Great Speaker of the Divine Light Alliance was actually a Necromancer?
“This damn boundary is too hot, it’s drying me up,” he complained. Pulling out a large bottle of liquid, he squeezed it into the void before him.
With no gravity in the void, the liquid gathered into a sphere due to its own surface tension. The liquid inside was slightly turbid, yet filled with a radiant aura–it was Holy Essence Liquid.
Great Speaker stretched his hand into the sphere, and the liquid began to flow slowly across his body due to surface tension, enveloping him within and forming a thin film of water.
Inside the water film, the Great Speaker slowly absorbed the Essence Liquid, and his wrinkled skin inflated, as if it were being soaked and plumped. Once the nutrient liquid was fully absorbed, the Necromancer-looking Great Speaker turned into a lively looking elderly human.
While waiting for the complete absorption of the nutrient liquid, the Great Speaker mumbled to himself: “This Light Holy Water is really useful. I should go back and buy some more from the Light youngsters. But there are too many impurities in it, all filled with his light will, such a hassle to clear.”
“I wonder if he has any Holy Water without will. Maybe I should beat him up once, make him produce some without will?” The Great Speaker grumbled while also casually referring to the Lord of Light as a youngster, unaware of what his reaction might be when he finds out that the Lord of Light has already been beaten to death.
After regaining vitality, the Great Speaker checked the coffins he brought out, then repackaged them, changing them from a string into a bundle.
The crack was too narrow; they were tied in a string so as not to be stuck, but now that they were out, for easier transfer and casting, it was better to bind them into a bundle.
Once packed, the Great Speaker pulled out two Magic Wands, thrust them in front of him, and with two puffs, the wands were ‘planted’ steadily into the void, gradually lighting up.
Word by word, an incantation came out of the Great Speaker’s mouth: “Let the void be the anchor, let the ripple of space propel me afar, let will be the anchor, and the soul the rope that binds us. Let the Divine Hammer be the anchor, the force that applies to all things, guiding me forward. Universal Pull Divine Hammer, lead me forth!”
Upon the culmination of the incantation, Great Speaker fiercely tugged at the Magic Wands and yelled out loud.
One second, two seconds, three seconds passed, and the Great Speaker stood up confused: “Eh, where’s the Universal Pull Divine Hammer?”
“Again, with the Void… lead me forward! Talkative, die!” In order to strengthen the Soul Contact, even the Great Speaker shout out the Universal Pull Divine Hammer’s ‘favorite’ phrase, but still there was no response.
After being stunned for a while, the Great Speaker began to express some concern: “What’s happened? Where has that damn hammer gone? Has something talkative lured it away?”
The Great Speaker wasn’t worried that the Universal Pull Divine Hammer would be stolen. The damn hammer would not even yield to him, anyone eyeing it should just hope not to be flattened. Perhaps some unknown mishap had occurred, severing his connection with it.
If anyone really was after it, he could only pray for their luck, hoping they wouldn’t end up smashed by the hammer.
Unable to sense the anchor point and unable to catapult himself over, the Great Speaker turned back to look at a stack of coffins with dismay, sighed deeply, then tied them together in a string and lifted his hand to draw a circle in front of him. Within the circle, Magic Patterns emerged, expanding into a Magic Array with a diameter of three meters.
A battle horse, covered in blood-red hue, leapt out of the Magic Array. Its fur fluttered, surging with the formidable Power of Chaos; this was a horse wholly formed from the Power of Chaos.
Tying the coffins to the horse, he then patted the neck of the chaotic warhorse. Immediately, the horse began to stride swiftly through the Void, accelerating as it went.
With each step, its hooves exploded in bursts of red light, as if the horse was advancing upon radiant pathways.
Initially, he was heading towards the direction of the Divine Light Alliance, but then the Great Speaker frowned and murmured, “What is that light? Why is it so bright?”
After pondering for a moment, the Great Speaker redirected and rode the chaotic warhorse, dragging a long string of coffins, towards the source of that light.
…
Near the boundary of the Boundless Space Hole of the Friel Empire, airships slowly entered the great void. These airships had designs vastly different from any seen before; each had a figurehead at the forefront. The figureheads differed from ship to ship, but all glowed with a radiant light.
Only the leading airship that belonged to Ange lacked a figurehead. Ange and his companions squeezed into the tail cabin, peering curiously through the small window at these unique airships.
Nagri expressed his astonishment: “Silver Coin, is this the Heroic Spirit Legion you were talking about? They actually mounted Heroic Spirits at the front of the airships?”
“Heroic Spirits represent the manifestation of collective will; where else to place them but at the front?” Anthony replied.
After some thought, Nagri added, “That’s true, I confused Heroic Spirits with Gods. Heroic Spirits are rarely seen. The two in our house always end up fighting when put together. So, does each of these airships manifest a unique Heroic Spirit?”
Silver Coin answered, “Pretty much. I saw them training separately according to their different professions. You should know better about this, doesn’t your family have two Heroic Spirits?”
Nagri spoke disdainfully: “Those two only know how to brawl. I understand nothing; with their level of competence, even if each airship manifests a different Heroic Spirit, they couldn’t possibly defeat the Mourning Undead Soldiers, right? Can they actually overcome the Mourning Legion?”
As to the capabilities of Red Star and Truth Cannon, Nagri had the clearest idea. These two had shown no particular combat prowess. They seemed impressive colliding with one another in the Bronze Book, but in reality, they couldn’t even muster a ‘fart’.
Anthony said: “Whether they can defeat them is not important, as long as they fight. Otherwise, they will target Little Ghost. The Mourning Legion marches independently and fast. If we don’t have time to prepare, let’s just lead them to the Divine Hammer Plane and set up an ambush with the Holy Spirit Legion there. We’ll block the entrances on our side, wait for them to finish fighting, then come out to clean up.”
