Chapter 213 Pursuing Serena Summers
Chapter 213: Chapter 213 Pursuing Serena Summers
Looking at Serena Summers’ enchanting and graceful figure, Alexander Forrest only felt a burning heat in his lower abdomen.
Because his attention was drawn to Serena, he kept getting distracted while filming.
He got stuck on his lines several times.
"Cut, cut, cut!" Vincent Carter impatiently rose from his chair, roaring at Alexander: "Do you even know how to act? If not, get lost quickly and don’t waste our time here!"
Regaining his composure, Alexander immediately apologized to Vincent, "Director, I’m sorry, it wasn’t deliberate. Please give me one more chance; I will do it right."
"That’s better; everyone prepare to shoot this one again," Vincent suppressed the anger in his heart and sat back down.
This time, Alexander didn’t get distracted and managed to finish his lines smoothly, but Vincent was still not quite satisfied.
"Do you think you’re reciting a textbook? There’s no emotion at all! You’re an actor; where is your emotion?"
Alexander’s face turned from pale to flushed as he repeatedly apologized.
After all the trouble, Alexander’s forehead was covered in a layer of cold sweat.
He wiped his forehead embarrassingly and raised his eyes towards Serena.
However, he noticed that Serena always appeared indifferent, as if she was oblivious to everything, while he himself had become the joke of the entire crew.
He clenched his teeth, a senseless resentment brewing in his heart.
Hadn’t Grace Summers said that Serena had never acted before and was bound to be terrible?
Before filming, he had already imagined it.
If Serena were scolded by the director for poor acting, he would go over and comfort her.
Girls of this age are easily moved and prone to develop deep feelings.
And with his persona as the gentle big brother, he is most likely to be favored by these young girls.
But who could have imagined that it would be him, not Serena, getting scolded?
"One last time, and if it’s still not right, then we’ll change people!" Vincent’s voice was filled with irritation.
He had been filming for several days, and even an extra was performing better than Alexander.
How on earth did this guy become a third-rate star?
Hearing these words, Alexander felt his heart skip a beat and immediately adjusted his state, finally passing the last take.
At lunchtime, Serena was dining with Adrian Shaw when suddenly a shadow appeared before her.
She slowly lifted her gaze and saw Alexander standing in front of her, wearing a gentle smile.
"Miss Summers, may I join you for lunch?"
Before Serena could speak, Adrian frowned, "There are plenty of empty spots over there, no need to share a table, right?"
The smile on Alexander’s face stiffened.
It was his first day on set and he wasn’t familiar with many people, of course, there was no need to share a table, but he had to win Serena’s favor quickly.
"It’s so boring to eat alone, I was thinking we could share a table and I could also ask for some acting advice," Alexander smiled warmly.
Adrian’s gaze paused on his face, then somewhat reluctantly nodded, "Sit if you want, no one is stopping you."
Alexander was delighted inside and immediately took a seat beside Serena.
"Serena, is it true that this is your first time filming?"
"Yeah," Serena nodded slowly.
First time filming wasn’t the same as the first time acting.
Serena hadn’t lied.
Alexander feigned surprise, "Performing so well on your first go? You really have talent. I’m most envious of naturally talented people like you who effortlessly achieve what others must struggle a hundred times harder for."
Adrian wasn’t pleased to hear this; putting down his cutlery, he said sternly, "How do you know my sister-in-law hasn’t worked hard in private? Also, if you have such deep complaints about acting, why are you still in this profession?"
Alexander was taken aback, not expecting Adrian’s strong reaction.
And... sister-in-law?
He hadn’t misheard, right?
Serena was married; how could this be? Why hadn’t Grace told him?
If Serena was really married, then why did Grace still ask him to pursue Serena?
He opened his mouth and subconsciously started to explain, "Adrian, you misunderstand me; I’m not complaining about anyone, just feeling a bit emotional. If you find my words uncomfortable, then I sincerely apologize to you."
His words were beautifully and politely put.
Even someone as indulged and capricious as Adrian couldn’t come up with a retort.
He cleared his throat, glanced at Serena, and his expression softened a bit, "Never mind, let’s eat."
After that episode, Alexander didn’t dare to speak carelessly again.
He remained unusually quiet throughout the meal.
No matter; he had time.
He would always find an opportunity to get close to Serena.
After finishing the evening’s filming, Adrian rushed to Serena, very attentively taking the bag in her hand, "Let me, let me! You’ve had a tiring day; you’ve worked hard!"
"That’s an exaggeration, isn’t it?" Serena chuckled and propped her forehead.
"Of course, it’s true. If you tire yourself out, my older brother will surely be distressed," Adrian winked teasingly at Serena.
Thinking of Lucas Shaw, a slight blush crept onto Serena’s cheeks, and she playfully scolded him, "Well, now you’re even learning to tease your sister-in-law?"
Adrian quickly waved his hands and laughed as he ran off, "Wouldn’t dare, wouldn’t dare!"
This time Alexander couldn’t deceive himself any longer.
Because this time, he heard clearly.
Adrian had indeed called Serena sister-in-law.
What on earth was going on?
Countless enigmas swirled in his head, unanswered.
However, none of this hindered his pursuit of Serena.
He was too obvious, and soon the entire crew noticed something was amiss.
Alexander was far too attentive towards Serena, constantly sending gifts, sending flowers.
Although Serena rejected them all, he persisted.
Adrian, Vincent, and Declan Summers all sensed the oddity.
Vincent warned, "Keep your minds on filming and don’t get involved in anything unnecessary."
During the break, Brother Declan followed Alexander to the restroom.
After Alexander answered a phone call, Declan kept a short distance behind in the shadows, instinctively hiding as Alexander turned his head.
Then, he overheard a conversation.
"Weren’t you saying that Serena was just a country bumpkin from the backwoods? Why is she so difficult?"
"To this point, not a single promise you made has been fulfilled; how can you expect me to believe you?"
"I may be infatuated, but there’s always an annoying guy hanging around her; I have no opportunity to make a move."
"You better not forget what you promised me."
After hanging up the phone, Declan stepped out from the corner.
He hesitated for a moment, then entered the restroom.
Seeing him, Alexander didn’t think much of it and greeted with a smile, "Brother Declan."
"Alexander, are you pursuing Serena?"
