Chapter 150: Chapter 150 What Stupid Thing Did You Do Again

"Sylvia Lane!" Lucas Shaw gritted his teeth, his dark pupils intently staring at the woman on the screen.

After pushing Serena Summers into the lake, Sylvia Lane took a couple of steps forward, seemingly to confirm whether Serena could swim.

A shallow, triumphant smile played upon her face.

The video ended there.

Lucas Shaw lowered his gaze, his true expression hidden from view.

Assistant Young leaned on the sofa, legs crossed, his aura nearly matching that of Lucas Shaw.

"Serena is the darling of all our brothers; what right does the Shaw Family have to let her suffer like this? If you don’t give me a satisfactory explanation today, I will take matters into my own hands."

With Edward Selwyn’s status and position, dealing with an orphan girl was a piece of cake.

At this moment, he was more interested in Lucas Shaw’s attitude.

If there was even a slight dissatisfaction, Lucas Shaw would not see Serena again in his lifetime.

"Don’t worry, I won’t let her off easily."

After a long silence, Lucas Shaw’s lips parted slightly, his low and hoarse voice filled with a bone-chilling intent to kill.

Standing behind him, Brandon Reese couldn’t help but shudder, his shoulders faintly quivering.

Based on his understanding of Lucas Shaw, he was very angry, extremely angry, the kind that wished to kill.

"It’s better that way." Assistant Young’s lips curved slightly, but the smile did not reach his eyes.

He said, "Serena will recuperate at my place during this period. I hope the Shaw family will not disturb her. Also, this includes Sylvia Lane and your mother."

"Is Serena alright?" Lucas Shaw’s hands clenched into fists at his sides, his lips quivering slightly.

"Not good! She has been unconscious for three days and nights. If it weren’t to save you, she wouldn’t have held on alone for so long. Lucas Shaw, she is only painfully sensitive and slow to respond to pain, but when she hurts, it’s ten times worse than a normal person!"

Mentioning Serena Summers, Edward Selwyn’s lips downturned instantly, "She’s sensible, but that’s no reason for her to be bullied!"

He forcibly restrained the urge to beat Lucas Shaw, his voice cold: "Don’t change the subject! I am fully aware of what your mother did to Serena."

Lucas Shaw clenched his fists tighter, the veins on his pale back of the hand bulging, his heart feeling as though it was stabbed repeatedly by countless needles.

He cast down his eyes, letting out a bitter laugh.

He was truly foolish; he wasn’t inexperienced in suffering, that kind of pain, he thought he was the only one in the world who could experience it.

Unbeknownst to him, Serena was also enduring it.

It was all his fault.

His understanding of Serena was too shallow.

How did she, a delicate and soft girl, endure all this?

The pain must have been immense.

Lucas Shaw couldn’t bear to think further.

After a long while, he spoke gravely, "I will not let anyone who hurt Serena get away."

"It’s better be that way, I will await your results." Edward Selwyn sneered coldly, stood up from the sofa, and left without looking back.

Assistant Young picked up the laptop, nodded expressionlessly to the Shaw family members, and hastened to follow.

After Edward Selwyn and Assistant Young left, an eerie silence fell over the living room.

Lucas Shaw’s handsome face darkened as if about to drip ink any second.

"When I was unconscious, what else happened? Did Elena Ryan do something stupid again?"

Brandon Reese’s heart skipped a beat.

He quietly shifted, moving his feet backward, trying to distance himself from Lucas Shaw.

Because he knew better than anyone that Lucas was on the verge of losing his temper, maintaining only a sliver of rationality.

In just a little while, that might not hold true.

"Brandon."

Brandon’s steps faltered slightly, nearly tripping over his own right foot, but he managed to stabilize himself by grabbing the back of the sofa, preventing a fall.

Lucas Shaw slowly turned his head, his voice dropping to an icy tone, "Tell me, what exactly did Elena Ryan do when I was unconscious?"

Brandon glanced toward Liam Shaw hesitantly.

Liam met his gaze, slightly nodding his head.

Finally resolved, Brandon recounted the events of that night.

After listening, Lucas Shaw hung his head, hands tightly clasped together, not speaking, eerily quiet.

Brandon couldn’t figure out Lucas’s thoughts and continued, "I saw the photo. It was taken stealthily of the lady meeting with President Selwyn at the café. And the one who took the photo was likely Miss Shaw, Clara."

"Heh... Birds of a feather flock together." Lucas’s lips slowly curled into a sardonic smile, rising from the sofa, and walked upstairs.

Brandon quietly looked at Liam, who appeared just as confused, unsure of Lucas’s intentions.

"Follow him first. Lucas is probably not very stable at the moment." Liam spoke first, walking toward where Lucas had gone.

Lucas went straight to the third floor, to Elena Ryan’s room.

He didn’t knock, just barged in.

The door slammed against the wall with a deafening bang due to his intentional lack of control.

At that moment, Elena Ryan was sitting on the balcony, sipping tea.

She was dressed in an exquisite dark blue cheongsam adorned with delicate epiphyllum flowers, enhancing her noble and elegant demeanor, mixed with a dignified aura.

She was kneeling, tea fragrance curling up, wafting in the air.

Hearing the door open, her hand paused momentarily, a flicker of surprise crossing her eyes.

"Lucas? You’re awake?" Seeing Lucas Shaw approaching, Elena Ryan suddenly felt uneasy.

Indeed, as Serena Summers and Liam had said, her resentment toward Lucas was self-deceptive.

But after hating him for so long, that resentment had almost become her reason to live, how could she just change that?

She scolded sternly, "Who allowed you to barge in? Get out! No manners at all, how did I give birth to such a son?"

Lucas Shaw stepped forward steadily, not flinching at Elena Ryan’s words.

He walked directly to her, looking down from above at the face that resembled his, his lips curling into a cold, bloodthirsty arc.

"Elena Ryan, haven’t I told you, stay away from Serena, don’t provoke her again? Hmm?" His voice was cold, deep, and dusky, the tones at the end rising dangerously.

Elena Ryan’s expression stiffened momentarily, quickly returning to normal.

She scoffed, leisurely sipping her tea, "So, that little slut Serena came to complain to you? I knew she—ah!"

Before she could finish, a large, powerful hand tightly grasped her neck, squeezing forcefully.

She screamed, panic rising within her, but more than that, anger.
