Chapter 132: Kiss Whomever You Want, Take Your Pick

Chapter 132: Chapter 132: Kiss Whomever You Want, Take Your Pick

"Hmph! I don’t believe it!" Serena Summers pouted petulantly.

Lucas Shaw chuckled, shaking his head. He closed in once again, whispering into her ear, "Actually, there’s nothing to be shy about. It just means your husband has excellent kissing skills and has made you very comfortable, right?"

"What are you babbling about? Who, who said I was comfortable?"

Serena, infuriated, pulled the blanket off her head and glared at him, her face flushed. Her feet weren’t idle, either—she tried to kick him but her foot was caught by his warm palm instead.

She tried to break free, but the man grasped even tighter.

Lucas unabashedly leaned closer, presenting his ear to her lips, "Or how about you give it back? You can kiss me wherever you please, at will."

Serena: "..."

How could someone be so shameless?

In the room, the young couple frolicked for a while until Serena collapsed exhausted on the bed, lacking even the strength to turn over.

Lucas cradled her in his arms, tenderly stroking her hair, and leaned down to kiss her forehead, "Taking a bath?"

"Yes," Serena languidly lifted her eyelids and glared at him, "But I don’t have the energy."

Lucas awkwardly touched his nose, got out of bed, and said, "You rest first, I’ll go run a hot bath for you."

Serena closed her eyes contentedly, and just as she was about to fall asleep, she was lifted into the air.

She furrowed her brow, her eyelids feeling too heavy to lift.

Then from above her head, a deep, raspy voice came, "Sleep. I’m here."

Maybe it was because the man’s voice was too tender, but Serena snuggled into his arms, found a comfortable position, and truly drifted off to sleep.

Outside the door, Sylvia Lane looked bitterly at the tightly shut door.

Her hands, hanging by her side, clenched into fists, filled with resentment and unwillingness.

"Serena Summers, what exactly makes you deserve to monopolize my Brother Lucas?"

"Brother Lucas is mine, no one else should even think about taking him."

This room should have belonged to her, and Lucas should have been hers!

It was Serena who had stolen the happiness that rightfully belonged to her.

She was not willing to let go.

Every time she closed her eyes, her mind couldn’t stop imagining what was happening inside the door.

She had seen Lucas hurriedly carrying Serena back into the bedroom.

That look, she had seen it in many men when they were moved.

Lucas was normally indifferent, keeping others at a distance, a seemingly ascetic, aloof bloom.

Countless women had tried desperately to pluck this elusive flower.

Yet not one succeeded.

Including her.

Before returning to the country, she still held a glimmer of hope.

She thought that as long as she persisted, she could move Lucas.

However, reality dealt her a cruel blow.

Lucas, that ice-cold man, truly was capable of having feelings, just not for her.

Sylvia had always been pampered as she grew up.

Even after her mother passed away, the Shaw Family continued to dote on her, almost always giving her whatever she desired - how could she tolerate such frustration and indignity?

She bit her lip in secrecy, reluctantly leaving.

In the bedroom, Lucas and Serena were completely unaware that someone had been at the door.

He gently caressed Serena’s delicate, fair cheek, his dark eyes brimming with laughter.

Serena nuzzled his palm lightly, her eyes filled with dependence.

Like a kitten playfully begging for affection from its owner.

Adorably indescribable.

The following evening, Serena dressed up in an exquisite evening gown, applied light makeup, and waited for Lucas to pick her up.

As the time drew close and he had not yet returned, Serena began to worry.

She was about to go out and check when she heard sobbing from the downstairs.

"Brother Lucas, do you dislike me that much?"

It was Sylvia’s voice.

Standing opposite her, if not Lucas Shaw, then who?

Serena stopped in her tracks, looking on with interest at the scene.

"Brother Lucas, I just wanted to ride together with you. Sister Serena is so kind, she would surely agree."

"Isn’t there a car at home? I’m not your driver," Lucas retorted unceremoniously.

Sylvia cast her eyes downward, teary and looking at Lucas as if she were staring at a faithless lover.

"Brother Lucas, I want to go with you! If you’re worried that Serena might misunderstand, I can explain it to her."

"No need to explain, I disagree."

Serena Summers came down from the upstairs, her eyes narrowed slightly, releasing a dangerous glint.

She thought that Sylvia Lane would keep a low profile for a few days, but she didn’t expect her to make a comeback so soon.

She really underestimated her.

She walked to Lucas Shaw’s side, and in front of Sylvia, affectionately wrapped her arm around his.

"Hubby, you performed well tonight."

Lucas Shaw raised his eyebrows, a hint of amusement in his dark eyes.

"Of course, you should see whose husband I am."

If he didn’t even have this self-awareness, Lucas Shaw felt he didn’t deserve to be Serena’s husband.

Serena extended her hand, a sly sparkle in her eyes.

"Mr. Shaw, give me your hand."

"Okay."

Lucas Shaw stretched out his hand, tightly grasping Serena’s delicate and supple hand, his eyes full of laughter.

As Sylvia Lane watched the two of them show off their affection, she felt sick at the bottom of her heart.

She bit her teeth tightly to keep from losing her composure.

"Miss Lane, my wife and I would like some time alone. You’re so kind and generous; surely you won’t hold this against us, right?" Serena blinked playfully, her delicate and fair face filled with purity and innocence.

Yet, her words made Sylvia’s face change dramatically.

The smile on Serena’s face was especially irritating, and Sylvia felt as if her heart had been brutally pricked.

It was painfully raw.

After a while, she managed a faint smile, "Of course, of course!"

Serena bent the corners of her lips with satisfaction, holding Lucas Shaw’s hand and walking away.

Since Sylvia Lane prided herself on her gentleness and magnanimity, let her keep it up.

After all, Serena wouldn’t push her own husband towards someone else.

Sylvia Lane stared fiercely at Serena’s retreating figure, wishing she could make holes in her with her gaze.

Clara Shaw and Evelyn Hart came down from upstairs and saw just such a scene.

Sylvia Lane, in a beautiful evening gown, with elegant heavy makeup, should have looked charming.

But her expression was extraordinarily fierce, looking somewhat terrifying.

Clara couldn’t believe that such an expression could be seen on the always kind and gentle Sylvia.

She called softly, "Sister Sylvia?"

Sylvia quickly came back to her senses, immediately smoothing out the expression on her face.

"Clara, you’re finally here! I’ve been waiting for you for so long."

Sylvia’s face wore a faint smile, appearing perfectly normal.

Where was there a trace of fierceness?

Clara shook her head slowly, feeling sure she had seen it wrong.

She walked over to Sylvia on high heels, affectionately linking arms with her.

"Sister Sylvia, have Second Cousin and the others already left?"

Sylvia nodded slowly, the smile on her face becoming somewhat strained.

Seeing this, Clara whispered comfortingly, "Sister Sylvia, don’t worry, you will definitely find an opportunity in the future! You’re so kind and beautiful, Second Cousin will surely notice your good points."

Sylvia nodded, her eyes filled with desolation, "But Brother Lucas dotes on Serena so much, should I really not break them apart?"

"Not at all! I know your feelings for Second Cousin without you saying! That little wretch Serena is not at all comparable to you! Sister Sylvia, you must stand firm in your heart!" Clara encouraged her word by word.

With Clara’s consolation, Sylvia’s mood instantly improved.

She nodded, her eyes tinged with a layer of laughter.

"Yes, you’re right! I’ve liked Brother Lucas for so many years; I naturally can’t give up easily!"

When Lucas Shaw and Serena Summers arrived at the Lawrence household, the Lawrence Family members all came out to greet them.

Even Old Master Lawrence himself came out.

Old Master Lawrence has two sons.

The elder, Philip Lawrence, now controls the entire Lawrence Corporation.

The younger, Charles Lawrence, is a lazy and extravagant man, indulging in wine and women all day long, causing no end of worry for Old Master Lawrence.

Many guests showed surprise on their faces when they saw Old Master Lawrence come out to greet them personally.

"Who is the visitor? Such grand reception?"

"It’s that always mysterious Mr. Lucas Shaw from the Shaw Family."

"What? That’s Mr. Lucas Shaw?" The crowd showed their astonished looks.
