Chapter 108: Chapter 108: Belt

Serena Summers hugged Lucas Shaw’s neck with a giggly smile and kissed his cheek.

"Honey, I’m off first. Don’t miss me too much."

"Wait a minute." Lucas Shaw grabbed Serena Summers’ hand.

Curious, Serena Summers turned her head, her eyes full of confusion.

"Take this, buy whatever you want, don’t worry about the cost."

Lucas Shaw pulled out a black card from his pocket and handed it to Serena Summers.

"I have my own money, and moreover, big brother gave me a salary yesterday." Serena Summers cunningly curved her lips and quickly jumped out of the car.

Lucas Shaw’s card, not given away, he could only helplessly put it back in his pocket.

He leaned back in his seat, watching Serena’s departing figure deep in thought.

After a long while, Lucas Shaw slowly took out his cellphone, opened a forum, and posted a question: What should I do if my wife refuses to spend my money?

This was Brandon Reese’s advice, to seek help through forum posts when facing difficult relationship questions he didn’t understand.

Looking at the posted query, Lucas Shaw helplessly shook his head.

When did he become so childish?

He turned off his phone and drove to the office.

Elsewhere, Charlotte Summers was waiting at the entrance of the mall.

As she saw Serena Summers approaching, she quickly waved her hand.

"Serena, over here!"

"Sorry, I’m late."

"No problem, I just got here too." Charlotte Summers smiled carelessly.

She took Serena Summers’ hand and headed into the mall.

"I’ll tell you, there’s a really good dessert shop here, I’ll take you there."

Serena Summers loved sweets, something well-known throughout the lab.

Although Charlotte Summers usually didn’t see eye to eye with Serena, the goal of hanging out was to have fun.

She could put aside those so-called grievances for the moment.

Serena Summers hesitated, not particularly fond of others’ touch.

But seeing Charlotte Summers look so excited, she felt bad about dampening her spirit.

The mall they were visiting was one of the largest owned by the Shaw Group in S City.

Charlotte Summers led Serena Summers around inside, and they bought plenty of sweets and small gifts.

Soon, they were both carrying numerous shopping bags.

"Senior’s birthday is coming up, I need to buy some gifts for him," Charlotte Summers suddenly stopped in front of a clothing store.

"You remember that so clearly?" Serena Summers raised an eyebrow, unable to resist teasing.

"Of course! I admit I might not be his type, but I’m definitely a qualified suitor!"

Charlotte Summers huffed and hurried into the store.

The salesperson, seeing customers arrive, quickly came forward to greet them.

Charlotte Summers went straight to the men’s section and began selecting seriously.

Liam Shaw didn’t really like wearing suits; he preferred more casual clothing.

"Is giving clothes too intimate?" Charlotte Summers hesitated.

Serena Summers was clueless.

She seemed to never have seriously picked out gifts for anyone.

In the past, when her masters and senior brothers had birthdays, she used to casually give them bottles of precious medicines.

Because they said, there was no gift more valuable than living a hundred years.

It was not until she left the mountain that Serena Summers realized birthdays should be celebrated.

And gifts shouldn’t be given carelessly.

Otherwise, it seemed too indifferent.

Thinking, Serena Summers covered her mouth and coughed lightly, "Actually, I think giving clothes is fine. You can look around more before deciding."

"So do you think I should give cufflinks or a tie?"

Serena Summers: "..."

Is there a difference?

In many areas, Serena was called incredibly talented, but picking gifts was definitely not her strong suit.

She couldn’t help feeling a bit annoyed.

Her gaze landed somewhere, and Serena Summers suddenly had a bright idea.

"How about this belt?"

Serena Summers reached out to pick up a delicate black leather belt, her eyes lighting up.

This belt was exquisitely made and felt great to the touch.

Most importantly, the moment Serena saw it, she imagined Lucas Shaw wearing it.

That cold, restrained face, paired with this understated and mysterious belt, would look even more quietly elegant.

Charlotte Summers was silent for a long while, but ultimately decided to choose the cufflinks.

Expensive yet not impolite.

This is it.

"It just seems a bit pricey."

At checkout, Charlotte saw the price of the cufflinks and hesitated.

"Miss, all the clothes and accessories in our store are luxury brands. This pair of cufflinks is a limited edition worldwide, and there are only two available in the whole city."

Charlotte gritted her teeth and said, "Buy it!"

She took out her bank card from her pocket and handed it to the clerk.

The clerk reached out with a smile to take it.

"Wait, let me think a bit more!"

Just as the clerk was about to touch the bank card, Charlotte suddenly pulled her hand back.

Serena watched quietly from the side, finding it somewhat amusing.

"If you’re still unsure, shall we go look around the women’s section?"

"Sure!"

Charlotte agreed without thinking.

The two walked to the women’s clothing area, ready to pick out a few garments.

"Serena, what do you think of me in this dress?"

Charlotte, excited, picked up a pink dress and walked over to Serena.

Serena turned her head, shook her head helplessly, and said, "This color doesn’t suit you."

Charlotte’s skin was on the darker side, and Serena guessed she wouldn’t pull off this kind of bright Barbie pink.

"Alright, I also don’t think it suits me. But I like the style of this dress," Charlotte said regretfully as she put the dress back.

Watching her walk away, Serena chuckled.

Putting aside their past grievances, she actually found Charlotte rather charming.

Eventually, each picked out two dresses, prepared to check out.

However, before they could leave the women’s section, a snide voice rang out.

"Who is that?"

Serena halted in her steps and instinctively turned her head.

Clara Shaw walked in slowly, her arms crossed over her chest.

She held her chin high, her eyes slightly squinting, filled with disdain and mockery.

Behind her, stood three girls of about the same age.

"Serena, you have the nerve to come to a high-end luxury brand store?"

"Why shouldn’t I dare when even you dare?" Serena calmly looked at the newcomer.

She didn’t expect to encounter Clara here.

"If not for the Shaw Family, you probably wouldn’t even qualify to enter this store," Clara taunted with a hooked corner of her lips.

"And without my husband, what are you?" Serena retorted unabashedly.

Although the Shaw Family was wealthy and influential, without Lucas Shaw’s diligent management, they definitely wouldn’t have stood unshakeable in the city for so many years.

The Shaw Family’s second house reaped the benefits brought by Lucas but never knew gratitude.

Clara’s face instantly flushed with anger, her eyes full of fury as she looked at Serena.

How dare Serena talk back?

"Lucas Shaw is my cousin, what right do you have to talk to me like that? Don’t you believe I can make him divorce you?"

"I don’t believe." Serena’s lips slightly curved, her expression serene.
