Chapter 158: An Expensive Restaurant

The amusement park was alive with color and sound as the sun dipped below the horizon. My wristwatch read 7:00 p.m., and the park’s lights were flashing in every direction—neon pinks, electric blues, and warm yellows dancing against the evening sky. The Ferris wheel spun lazily, its lights twinkling like stars. It was mesmerizing, like stepping into a dream.

I glanced at Aeri, sitting next to me on the bench near the carousel. Her dark hair caught the glow of the lights, and her eyes sparkled as she watched kids run by with cotton candy with a little tired face.

"Let’s go grab something to eat," I said, standing up and offering her my hand.

Aeri’s lips curved into a bright smile as she took my hand, her fingers warm against mine. "Yes, let’s go eat." She stood up, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear, and we started walking through the bustling park.

After a few minutes, we reached a restaurant that stood out from the usual park food stands. It was sleek and modern, with a black exterior and huge glass windows that reflected the park’s lights. The sign above the door read *Starry Nights Bistro*, and soft jazz music spilled out every time the door opened. It looked fancy—way fancier than the burger joints and pretzel carts nearby.

Aeri slowed her steps, her hand still in mine.

"Uh, Ezra, that place looks kinda... pricey." She gave me an awkward smile, her cheeks flushing a little.

She pointed to a smaller spot across the way, a cozy diner with red checkered tablecloths and string lights draped over an outdoor patio. "Let’s go there instead. It looks cute, and they’ve got outdoor seating, so we can still see the park—"

Before she could finish, I slid my hands to her waist, gently pulling her closer to me as I started walking toward the fancy restaurant. Her words faltered, and I could feel her tense up, surprised by how close we were.

"Keep walking," I said, keeping my eyes forward, trying to sound casual even though my heart was beating a little faster. "You’re here with me."

"B-but..." Aeri stammered, her face turning a deeper shade of pink. She glanced up at me, her eyes wide. "Ezra, it’s probably super expensive, and I don’t want you to—"

"Sigh," I cut her off, giving her a playful look as I tightened my grip on her waist just enough to keep her moving. "You talk too much sometimes. Just keep walking."

She let out a small, embarrassed laugh, her steps falling in sync with mine. I could feel eyes on us as we walked—other people probably thought we were a couple, the way we were so close, my hands on her like it was the most natural thing in the world. Aeri kept her head slightly down, her blush spreading to her ears, but she didn’t pull away.

Inside, the restaurant was even more impressive. Dim lighting cast a warm glow over the polished wooden tables, and the walls were lined with abstract art in gold frames. A chandelier hung from the ceiling, its crystals catching the light like tiny prisms. The hostess greeted us with a smile and led us to a secluded table in the corner, tucked away from the main dining area. It was perfect—private, with a view of the park through a large window.

Aeri slid into the cushioned booth, and I sat next to her, close enough that our shoulders brushed. She looked around, her eyes wide with wonder.

"Wow, this place is so amazing. I can’t believe it’s right here in the amusement park."

I leaned back, resting my arm on the back of the booth behind her neck. "See it’s beautiful right?"

She turned to me, her smile so genuine it made my chest feel warm. "It’s beautiful, Ezra. Thank you for bringing me here."

I couldn’t help myself. I leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to her cheek, lingering just long enough to feel the warmth of her skin. "Good to see you happy," I said, pulling back to look at her.

Aeri’s eyes went wide, and she quickly looked down at her lap, her hands clutching the hem of her mini skirt like she didn’t know what to do with them. Her cheeks were bright red now, the blush creeping down her neck.

"E-Ezra..." she mumbled, her voice barely above a whisper.

Soon, we ordered our foods and the waitresses brought the dishes and places them elegantly before us.

We dug in, the clink of our forks against the plates blending with the soft jazz playing in the background.

Aeri twirled some pasta onto her fork and took a bite, her eyes lighting up. "Yummm, this is so good," she said, her voice full of delight. "It just melts in your mouth."

I sliced into my steak and took a bite, savoring the juicy flavor. "Yeah, it’s pretty delicious," I said, glancing at my plate, wondering what kind of fancy ingredients they used.

*They’re charging a fortune, so it’s gotta be premium stuff,* I thought to myself.

As we ate, my eyes drifted to Aeri sitting next to me in the cozy booth. Her mini skirt hugged her hips, and her smooth, thick legs caught the soft glow of the candlelight. A teasing spark lit up in my chest, and I couldn’t resist. I reached over and rested my hand on her thigh, my fingers brushing her warm skin.

Aeri froze, her spoon halfway to her mouth, her eyes widening in surprise.

"Ezra!" she whispered, her voice a mix of shock and embarrassment, the spoon still hovering near her lips.

"You look so cute when you’re eating, you know that?" I said, my voice low and playful. I traced my fingers lightly along her thigh, slipping just a little inward, toward the space between her legs, teasing her gently.

Her face turned bright red, and she set her spoon down with a small clatter, trying to act composed. "W-what are you doing?" she stammered, her hands fidgeting with the hem of her skirt. "We’re in public!"
