Ye Yuning knew the Xiao Corporation’s project had passed, and although she wasn’t very delighted, she still breathed a sigh of relief. She wouldn’t have to pay out millions, and this relief allowed her to sleep straight through until twelve noon.

Xiao Linye had prepared breakfast before he left in the morning. A fried egg and milk were kept warm in the warming drawer. A note read, "There are cherry tomatoes in the fridge; eat some if your tooth hurts."

The firm, strong handwriting conveyed thoughtful care.

This made Ye Yuning feel as if her heart was filled with warm sunshine, bringing a cozy sensation.

She opened the fridge, took out the box of bright red cherry tomatoes, and washed the entire container at once.

Just as she popped a cherry tomato into her mouth, her phone began to ring. Seeing it was Xiao Linye calling, she answered.

Pressing the answer button, she said, "Hello?"

"At work?"

Hearing his magnetic voice, images from last night instantly flashed into her mind, and Ye Yuning almost bit her tongue in panic. The temperature of her small face rose uncontrollably. Yet, the man on the other end of the line sounded as if nothing had happened.

Ye Yuning hastily swallowed the cherry tomato in her mouth. "No, I worked too late last night, so I didn’t go to the studio this morning."

"Does your tooth still hurt?"

Ye Yuning replied, "It doesn’t seem to hurt anymore." As she spoke, she unconsciously bit down on the spot where her left wisdom tooth was. The pain was indeed much lighter.

Turns out, the medicine Xiao Linye bought last night was quite effective; the pain had mostly subsided overnight. Previously, it would have hurt for at least half a month.

"Shall we have lunch together then?" Xiao Linye asked.

He’s so calm. His composure is truly formidable.

Ye Yuning felt a little conflicted. But faced with Xiao Linye’s nonchalance, she could only brace herself and ask, "Is the restaurant we went to last time far from your office?"

"Not too far."

"Then how about we go there?" Ye Yuning asked.

Xiao Linye replied, "Okay, I’ll head over now."

After hanging up, Ye Yuning patted her slightly flushed cheeks, quickly drank the milk, and ate the fried egg. She put the washed cherry tomatoes back in the fridge, tidied everything up, and then left the house.

She drove to the studio’s underground parking garage, parked her car, and then, estimating it was about time, headed to the restaurant.

Xiao Linye was waiting for her at the same spot as before, and he had already ordered their food.

Ye Yuning sat down and cautiously glanced at him. However, when Xiao Linye looked at her, she quickly averted her gaze. Even their wedding night hadn’t been as embarrassing as last night.

Xiao Linye placed a glass of orange juice in front of her. "Your tooth is inflamed, so I ordered corn chowder and tomato-flavored pasta for you. Do you need anything else?"

Ye Yuning shook her head. "This is fine. I woke up rather late and only had some milk before coming out."

Looking at the orange juice before her, its sweet, fruity aroma was comforting to the senses. Whenever she had a toothache, Chen Wei also liked to give her orange juice, saying it was high in something that would boost her immunity and help her recover faster.

Speaking of working late, Xiao Linye unconsciously furrowed his brow. "What time did you work until last night?"

Last night’s scene was a bit chaotic, and he hadn’t paid any attention to the time.

Ye Yuning’s face turned even redder. "It was three in the morning by the time I got back to Shanyu Pavilion!"

However, it would have been better not to mention working late. Speaking of which, Ye Yuning harbored a bellyful of resentment towards Xiao Enterprises. As a result, when Chen Wei called that morning about the collaboration, she had absolutely no interest.

She never wanted what happened last night to occur again.

Hearing this, Xiao Linye paused, his knife and fork mid-air. He looked at her seriously and said, "Don’t worry. I will take responsibility for you."

Ye Yuning’s mind exploded. So that’s why he wasn’t embarrassed? It didn’t matter how much he saw, because he would take responsibility anyway?

Ye Yuning was speechless. Her small face grew even hotter!

The lunch ended with Ye Yuning feeling embarrassed all by herself.

After taking a call, Xiao Linye left in his Passat.

The moment Ye Yuning turned around, she saw Chen Wei peering intently behind her. Ye Yuning waved a hand in front of Chen Wei’s eyes. "Stop looking!"

Chen Wei retracted her gaze and looked at Ye Yuning with a wide grin. "President Ye, who was that?"

This was unprecedented! Their President Ye actually having a meal with a man—this had never happened before. Wait, Chen Wei suddenly remembered yesterday’s news report...! "Could that be the spouse on your marriage certificate?" He’s really handsome! Although I didn’t see his face, his height and build suggest he’s definitely good-looking.

Ye Yuning shot her a look. Having been with her for so long, these people felt comfortable enough to joke with her about anything.

"Is it true, President Ye?"

"Yes~!"

She had no reason to hide it from Chen Wei.

Chen Wei was satisfied. She was the first one to see the boss’s spouse!

As they entered the elevator together, Chen Wei suddenly slapped her forehead. "Oh, you’d better not go up."

Ye Yuning raised an eyebrow at her.

Chen Wei lowered her voice. "Xiao Shuo is upstairs."

Ye Yuning frowned. "Xiao Shuo?"

"Yes! Somehow he found out we were the ones who beat him up last night, and he’s up there raising hell!"

Ye Yuning scoffed. Still raising hell? He really has some nerve.

The elevator doors opened, and Ye Yuning immediately stepped out.

Xiao Shuo must have tired himself out from his tantrum, as the entire studio was quiet now. Ye Yuning glanced back at Chen Wei.

Chen Wei whispered, "He’s still in your office. He was shouting himself hoarse earlier."

Ye Yuning strode towards her office. Chen Wei followed behind, sucking in a sharp breath.

The office door opened.

Xiao Shuo was sitting in her executive chair, his bare feet propped up and crossed on her desk. Upon seeing her, he grabbed the water cup in front of him and threw it at her.

It missed, hitting the doorframe. BANG! It landed on the floor. It didn’t break, just rolled a few times.

"You still dare to show your face? Ye Yuning, you bitch—"

"Can you shut up?" Before he could finish his insult, Ye Yuning cut him off coldly.

Ye Yuning turned back to Chen Wei. "Call the Xiao Corporation. Tell them to come pick him up!"

"Yes." Chen Wei nodded and quickly pulled out her phone. She was about to call the Xiao Corporation’s front desk, but then she remembered the business card Assistant Li had left that morning and dialed the number on it directly.
