Nia Mitchell pursed her lips, her mouth moving slightly. After a moment’s hesitation, she chose to remain silent.

Maxwell Peary sighed, his heart aching as he tenderly wiped her tears. In his twenty-nine years, he had never felt this way before.

Seeing her cry, his heart clenched with a painful throb. This was only their first day of marriage, and already such a scene had unfolded. Their future life... tsk tsk.

"Speak up. Don’t just stay silent," Maxwell Peary commanded, his face cold, and his words carried the unmistakable authority of the head of the family.

Nia Mitchell, startled, shivered and obediently nodded. "I’ll be good from now on."

Her eyes reddened again, but ultimately, she held back her tears. She was afraid that if she annoyed Maxwell Peary by crying, she might get hit.

Maxwell Peary nodded, opened the car door, and stepped out. Just as he was about to get back in, he noticed a Dessert Shop not far away.

Well, my little bunny seems to like these kinds of things, he thought, his heart softening as he glanced at her sitting in the car, pouting.

After only a moment’s hesitation, Maxwell Peary walked towards the Dessert Shop.

Nia Mitchell found it strange that Maxwell Peary hadn’t returned to the car after such a long time.

Rolling down the car window, she saw Maxwell Peary walking over, carrying a large bag.

Sunlight dappled him, creating a faint halo. His black suit perfectly accentuated his striking physique, and his height of over 1.8 meters exuded an indescribable sense of security.

Nia Mitchell found herself hopelessly captivated, completely forgetting that her lips were still swollen from his kisses just moments before.

"I bought strawberry flavor. Do you like it?"

Maxwell Peary placed the cake, ice cream, and other desserts he had bought on the passenger seat. After settling into the driver’s seat, he glanced at Nia Mitchell.

Actually, he knew all her preferences; how could he not know she liked strawberry flavor? He’d only asked to find a topic to talk to her about.

"Yes, I like it."

Nia Mitchell bit her lip and couldn’t help but lean closer. Like it? I absolutely love it!

"It’s not very hot right now, but don’t eat too much ice cream, okay?"

"Okay," Nia agreed.

"Where do you want to eat tonight? I’ll make a reservation."

"I’m fine with anything."

"Later, I’ll take you to buy some clothes; you don’t have any of yours at home yet."

"Okay."

"Is there anything else you need to buy?"

"Nothing," she murmured.

Maxwell Peary gripped the steering wheel in frustration. Is my little bunny sulking? Because I kissed her forcefully?

They drove the rest of the way back to the Royal Bay Villa in silence. Nia Mitchell carried the desserts they had bought and started putting them in the refrigerator.

Maxwell Peary placed the large bag on the coffee table in the Living Room and began sorting through the items one by one.

"Should we use these new toothbrushes and towels now?"

He carefully examined these peculiar items but still couldn’t see what was so good about them.

Nia Mitchell, after putting the desserts away, walked softly over to Maxwell Peary.

"Whatever," she said, her voice flat.

Maxwell Peary undid his tie in frustration. He had figured it out: she was indeed sulking.

"Nia Mitchell."

"Yes!" she responded, almost jumping.

"Come here."

Maxwell Peary patted his thigh. Nia Mitchell hesitated, wringing the hem of her dress, but eventually, she went over.

As she wavered, uncertain whether to sit, Maxwell Peary reached out and pulled her onto his lap.

Nia Mitchell cried out in surprise and immediately started to struggle.

"Don’t move," Maxwell Peary soothed. "I’m sorry."

Maxwell Peary inwardly acknowledged that this was the first time he had ever apologized to anyone, and he was genuinely remorseful.

Nia Mitchell struggled to her feet, biting her lip shyly. "Uncle Peary, I won’t sulk or throw tantrums with you anymore."
