First Legendary Dragon: Starting With The Limitless System
Chapter 142: I wasn’t born a Noble

"Indeed," Orion agreed sincerely, his mind already buzzing with possibilities and new insights. Emilia quietly stood, her expression thoughtful yet composed, clearly pondering deeply upon what she'd learned today.

Nyss nodded softly toward Orion, quietly saying, "Your question was very insightful. Hybrid spells are no small feat, it would take a very long time for an average person to master them."

Orion raised an eyebrow, clearly surprised at how many words she said at once, yet he calmly replied, "But we aren't normal people. All of us have multiple affinity."

Nyss nodded her head without saying anything and stood up to leave.

Orion and his group began heading out of the class as well.

Arya apologetically said, "Sorry, Brother Orion. I will have to leave early today as well. I have some work back at home."

Orion shook his head, "No worries, I have some work to do as well here."

Arya tilted her head, "Here?"

"Yes, I wanted to see if I can get the others to join the club," he said.

She giggled hearing it, "The club which doesn't even have a name?"

Orion shrugged, "I have thought of a name, I will propose it when I have a few more members."

Arya nodded her head, but her gaze curiously went towards his sword, which Emilia had been taking glances at from time to time as well.

"What's up with that sword though?" she curiously asked.

Orion gently smiled and patted the sword, "Grandma made this sword for me."

Arya raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Grandma Selene made it personally? Then it must be a top-tier treasure."

He softly chuckled, "She only made a Tier 7 sword so I can upgrade it later myself."

Arya's eyes widened slightly in genuine surprise. "Only Tier 7? Brother Orion, your standards are terrifyingly high. Do you realize how many nobles would kill to have just a Tier 6 personally forged by a top-tier Runesmith like Lady Selene?"

Orion chuckled softly, a slight smirk forming on his lips. "Well, only the low-ranking nobles would do that. I doubt it's anything special for the higher-ranking ones."

Arya shook her head, "You underestimate the value of a treasure forged by a top runesmith like her, Brother Orion. The top nobles would also bid for it just to study the mana circuits and rune inscriptions of it."

Orion rubbed his chin, "That's a nice way to put it. Besides, she specifically designed it so that I could upgrade it as my understanding of runes deepens."

Arya speechlessly looked at him, "Honestly, she spoils you too much."

Emilia quietly nodded beside her, eyes faintly glinting with curiosity. Orion caught her subtle gaze again drifting to the sword's metallic hilt. Smiling inwardly, he mentally noted her interest.

"Maybe so," Orion conceded lightly. "But Grandma always insists that a good weapon is essential. Who am I to argue?"

Arya chuckled softly and brushed a strand of her hair behind her ear. "Well, I won't delay you further. Good luck recruiting club members. I'll see you tomorrow."

Orion nodded warmly. "Thanks, Arya. See you both tomorrow."

Arya waved gently, and Emilia gave him a soft nod as they turned and walked away together, their graceful figures disappearing amidst the bustling crowd of students moving between buildings.

Orion exhaled softly, feeling a brief moment of quiet before Lumi's cheerful voice bubbled in his mind again.

[Well, Master, time for recruitment! So, who's your target today? (•‿•)]

He rubbed his chin thoughtfully, eyes drifting across the lively academy grounds. 'Hmm, I was thinking of Elias. He's ranked sixth in our year, and having someone like him—who has an Advanced Affinity—would be quite helpful. And I also want to help him since he's a commoner. The nobles might exploit him.'

[Hmm, a Gravity Affinity Awakener would be very useful for the team. Very strategic choice, Master! Let's find him then! ヽ(>∀<☆)ノ]

Orion chuckled to himself at Lumi's enthusiasm and began to stroll purposefully toward the training grounds. He had heard from students' discussions previously that Elias often spent his free periods honing his martial techniques there, displaying impressive discipline and commitment.

He has yet to form his Gravity Affinity Rune as he hadn't come in contact with the Primary Runes or the relevant knowledge before joining the academy. However, with his talent, he was quickly learning stuff.

The teachers had predicted that he would be able to form his affinity rune in around a week or two.

Soon enough, Orion arrived at the expansive training field behind the main academy building. It was a vast, open area, segmented into various zones.

Among one of those zones, he saw Elias training with a greatsword alone.

[Found him!! Target locked in! (*≧▽≦)]

Orion chuckled and headed towards him. Seeing him focused on training so much, he slowed down his footsteps and stood a distance away from him, looking at the way he trained with the sword.

'Hmm, he is quite new to this. I don't think he came in contact with a sword before,' he inwardly said while observing his training.

[He was, after all, a commoner. It's not rare to not have come in contact with the basics of weaponry at such a young age.]

Orion tapped his chin thoughtfully. 'Yes, but it's weird how he isn't focusing on forming his Affinity Rune but instead out here training.'

[Hmm, who knows what goes through his head? He was quite different before the reveal of his affinity.]

Orion shook his head and walked forward again after seeing him finish with his set.

Elias turned around, hearing someone approaching him. His eyes narrowed down, seeing it was the first-ranked freshman of the year.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't the Mr. Celebrity," he said with a chuckle.

Orion smiled in amusement, "Oh? You don't seem to like me very much. Have we interacted before?"

Elias shook his head, "How can a commoner like me meet with such a high and mighty noble?"

Orion raised an eyebrow in surprise, 'So it's not an issue about me but about nobility, huh?'

"Come, let's sit down and have a chat. I have quite a few things that I want to discuss with you," he said softly, gesturing toward the seating area beside the training zone.

Elias shook his head, "If you have something to say, then you can say it here. I still need to practice."

"…Hmm, would you be interested in hearing it if I told you it's related to your future?" Orion curiously asked.

Elias looked him dead in the eye, "I don't want to join any noble's club."

Orion nearly choked at the outright rejection, especially since he hadn't even suggested anything yet.

"I haven't said what I wanted to say yet," Orion weakly protested.

Elias's lips twitched. "You think I haven't gotten invitations to other clubs before? Every single one of you says the same shit."

Orion listened intently before shaking his head as he took a deep breath, "Listen, most don't know what I'm about to tell you."

Elias's expression turned mildly curious as he gestured for Orion to continue.

"…I'm adopted."

"…huh?" Elias looked at him with a baffled look.

"Yes, I wasn't born a noble. Grandpa and Grandma adopted me from the Stormwood Forest," he softly said.
