Chapter 62: You wouldn’t have a crush on Doctor Lu, would you?
Chapter 62: Chapter 62: You wouldn’t have a crush on Doctor Lu, would you?
Moreover, even catching up on sleep didn’t allow for full relaxation, as one always had to be alert.
If there was an emergency in the department, even in the middle of the night, you had to get up and hurry over.
The two chatted intermittently when suddenly, Dr. Luo pulled something out from his lab coat pocket:
"Doctor Lu, thank you for the situation with patient 18."
Huh???
Patient 18?
Lu Jing clearly didn’t catch on right away, and it wasn’t until Dr. Luo explained that he finally remembered.
Patient 18 was the patient who had suddenly stopped breathing in the middle of the night a while back.
He probably remembered because that was the same night someone else had gotten injured and was admitted to the hospital.
"Ah, that, it’s nothing, Dr. Luo, there’s no need to be so formal."
Such things were common in the hospital.
But evidently, Dr. Luo insisted on giving Lu Jing the item.
Uh.
Seeing this, Lu Jing reached out and took it:
"Thanks, haha."
Sure enough, Dr. Luo then smiled:
"See, don’t be a stranger, from now on we’re comrades fighting side by side!"
By this time, Lu Jing had almost finished eating, he took a couple more bites, then stood up:
"Dr. Luo, I’m finished eating, please go ahead."
"Ah? That was quick. Doctor Lu, you should eat more!"
"I’m used to it, it’s always been like this, so I’ll be going now."
"Alright, alright."
After Lu Jing left, a male doctor from the table behind came over with his tray and directly sat next to Dr. Luo:
"Old Luo, who was that?" he asked.
"A colleague from the department."
"How come I haven’t seen her before?"
"She just returned from abroad half a month ago."
Hiss.
"So it’s her? Surname Lu, right?"
Dr. Luo was visibly surprised:
"How did you know?" he retorted.
"Our hospital’s official website just updated, displaying over ten academic papers from Doctor Lu.
Among them, one SCI paper, three core journal papers, and she has led or participated in four research projects."
Just these numbers alone were shocking enough.
They knew all too well how tough it was to successfully publish one SCI paper, not to mention the other two.
Doctor Lu was barely under thirty, right?
Colleagues of comparable status had to be at least 35+, and quite outstanding at that.
Comparing people really could kill you!
"Old Luo, you’re not possibly interested in her, are you? I just saw you giving her chocolate!"
This guy really had sharp eyes!
Dr. Luo glanced over:
"Isn’t such an outstanding woman worth pursuing?"
Uh.
The male doctor paused dramatically:
"No way, Old Luo, are you serious?"
...
As for the conversation between Dr. Luo and his friend in the cafeteria, Lu Jing, the subject of their discussion, had no idea at all.
Just as he reached the dormitory building, he bumped into another roommate who was just getting off work, Dr. Jia Yuqing from pediatrics.
"Doctor Lu, you’re off today, right?"
Lu Jing nodded:
"Yes, anything up?" he asked.
Jia Yuqing shyly smiled:
"Nothing much, I just wanted to invite you and Dr. Tan for a meal.
My boyfriend just got back from a business trip."
Lu Jing immediately understood and smiled:
"Sure, then thank you in advance."
"Oh no, don’t mention it, one day when you have a boyfriend, it’ll be your turn too."
Ah ha?
This...
"Doctor Lu, don’t forget, six o’clock this evening."
Hiss~
"Okay, got it, won’t forget."
After saying that, Jia Yuqing left through the main gate, not even returning to the dormitory once.
She must have been going directly to meet her boyfriend!
