As Gu Xiaoxi enjoyed her meal, she appreciated Yeh Bai’s cooking skill, but his words didn’t sit well with her. So, while eating, she stammered, "I can put in a good word for you. Yeh Bai paused mid-bite, "No way! Is it that bad?"

He approached them.

Upon hearing this, Lin Mi sighed and seriously said to Gu Xiaoxi, "Don’t be angry. He’s doing this for your own good. You got into trouble today. Watching Gu Xiaoxi’s resigned expression, Yeh Bai stopped her, sidling up beside her and whispered conspiratorially, "Gu Xiaoxi, haven’t you noticed? The superior officer kind of likes you."
