Fierce Love: Bringing Wife Home
Chapter 519 - 9 Play it by ear

Chapter 519: Chapter 9 Play it by ear

She clenched her fists, her heart secretly filled with alarm.

The five people they had encountered just now had dark, piercing eyes and exuded a murderous aura, their presence as imposing as a rainbow.

If it had been an ordinary person, they would have been so scared that they couldn’t even stand up.

But Gu Xiaoxi had simply taken a step back and steadied herself.

When she looked up again, the others had already turned and left.

However, even the white-clothed individual’s walking formation was incredibly neat and imposing.

Who were they?

After exchanging glances with her, the sense of danger she felt from them had grown increasingly intense.

Jing Haoran had also noticed the group of white-clothed people and furrowed his brows, puzzled, "There are many people of mysterious identities here this time. If this Fruit of Immortality is real, we will be facing a fierce battle."

"Then let’s just pray it is only a rumor!" Gu Xiaoxi squinted her eyes, her voice cold.

During a full day and night of sailing, on the opulent ship where song and dance thrived, the wealthy gentlemen and ladies, clad in riches, could not imagine the danger approaching them.

Most of the time, Gu Xiaoxi stayed by Mr. and Mrs. Naji’s side, whether they were watching performances, entertaining themselves, or going to lunch.

As long as they left their room, she would follow.

On the evening of the third day at sea.

Night fell, and suddenly, a flash of lightning split the sky.

On the luxurious cruise ship, an alarm immediately sounded.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please take note, we have now entered the boundary of the Nether Sea. It is best for everyone to return to your rooms and not come out no matter what happens. Trust in our captain to safely bring us all to Nether Island and then safely back out again." This was the announcement from the broadcasting room.

Gu Xiaoxi turned to Mr. and Mrs. Naji and said, "For safety, it’s best if you two stay in your room."

"Alright." Perhaps the lightning had frightened them.

The two of them immediately turned and went back to their room.

It wasn’t just them; many wealthy ladies rushed toward their own rooms as well.

After escorting Mr. and Mrs. Naji back to their room, Gu Xiaoxi joined Jing Haoran and Su San on the deck.

And at that time, it was not just the three of them on the deck but other people as well.

For example: groups of five in white clothes.

Groups of seven in black clothes.

Teams of two or three.

And also, some exploring squads.

There were at least a hundred people on the deck.

Gu Xiaoxi merely glanced over everyone once, her gaze settling on the pitch-black sky.

The clouds were dense, and thunder rumbled through the air.

"Is a storm coming?" Jing Haoran exclaimed. A gust of wind made their clothes flap wildly, and it even felt like the ship was rocking so much it might capsize.

"Is this the Nether Sea? If inside lies Nether Island, really as wonderful as the Immortal Realm, then getting in definitely won’t be easy." Gu Xiaoxi gazed at the gathering storm clouds, a bad premonition growing stronger within her.

"It’s incredible. Who knew there was such a place out at sea! Xiao Xi, let’s go back inside to take cover," Su San said. He felt that standing outside was really dangerous; a big wave could sweep them away at any moment.

"Su San, go back and protect Mr. and Mrs. Naji," Gu Xiaoxi ordered.

Both she and Jing Haoran, being martial arts practitioners, were not afraid of a little wind and waves.

No sooner had Su San left when Danny Jay appeared behind Gu Xiaoxi.

In his hand, he held a Magic Sphere, his expression just as serious, "Gu Xiaoxi, I feel something behind these clouds."

Gu Xiaoxi immediately turned around, her eyes revealing a hint of resonance, "I felt it before as well. It’s as if a pair of eyes from above are watching over everyone. I thought it was the intimidation caused by the lightning."

"No! I’m sure there’s someone behind those clouds. No! I should say a monster." Danny Jay said, "I think this ship should turn back; otherwise, everyone will die in the Nether Sea."

"Then what are we waiting for? Stop it now!" Gu Xiaoxi didn’t want everyone to perish at sea for the sake of that mythical Fruit of Immortality.

If it was as Danny Jay said, and there was a monster behind the clouds, then the rumors about the Fruit of Immortality on Nether Island were surely false.

As Gu Xiaoxi said this, she saw the group of people in white all staring at the dark clouds with tightly furrowed brows; however, their demeanor was too calm.

It seemed they knew there was a monster behind the clouds, but they weren’t afraid.

"We can’t stop it. Those ignorant merchants have been spreading the tale of the Fruit of Immortality in their pursuit of eternal life. Now that we’ve entered the Nether Sea, look at the fog that’s risen on the water. If I’m not wrong, their compasses have already failed. The ship is now blindly making its way," Danny Jay said.

Upon hearing this, Gu Xiaoxi held her forehead.

At that moment, the waves grew larger, and the rocking of the ship became fiercer.

The fog quickly enveloped the entire ship.

"What do we do now?" Jing Haoran clutched Gu Xiaoxi’s arm tightly, terrified.

Their vision was blocked, everyone’s sight reduced to pitch darkness...

The fear, coupled with the sound of lightning, made everyone on the ship feel their scalps tingle.

The broadcast kept transmitting soothing voices to calm everyone down.

And so, a full three hours passed.

The wind had ceased, the fog had dissipated, and the black clouds vanished, as a solitary bright moon rose.

Gu Xiaoxi sat at the bow of the boat, her long hair dancing in the sea breeze.

Jing Haoran looked around, confusion full in his eyes, as he asked, "Why did it suddenly stop? Have we left the Nether Sea?"

"We must have entered the Nether Sea!" Danny Jay gripped the Magic Sphere tightly, his voice serious, "My Magic Sphere has stopped working."

Gu Xiaoxi closed her eyes, releasing her Spiritual Sense to probe the surroundings.

But, to her surprise, her Spiritual Sense was completely ineffective.

It seemed her Inner Strength was also being suppressed.

"Why has the ship stopped?" At that moment, the adventure team not far from Gu Xiaoxi asked curiously.

Gu Xiaoxi and Danny Jay, among others, looked towards the side of the boat, noticing that it had indeed stopped.

"How could this happen?" Gu Xiaoxi observed her surroundings, other than that moon, resembling a round disc, there was nothing but endless seawater.

"Ah!" At the same time, a scream echoed from the broadcast.

Following that, the voice on the broadcast cut off completely.

Without a second thought, Gu Xiaoxi and Danny Jay ran toward the cockpit.

By the time they arrived, the cockpit was already surrounded by a crowd.

"The captain’s dead, and all the other drivers are dead too."

"How could this happen? How could the captain die? How will we get back now?"

"My God! Why did this happen?"

"Just now we only faced strong winds and high waves; everyone else is fine. Why are only the people in the cockpit dead?"

"What have we been through? Without the captain, how can we go back?"

Gu Xiaoxi and Danny Jay exchanged a glance, immediately feeling a sense of panic, "Something has indeed gone wrong."

"What do we do now?" Jing Haoran felt terribly scared.

In the dead of night, all the navigators were dead.

Their tens of thousands were surely stranded here.

Just as everyone stood with grave expressions, looking at one another, the ship suddenly jerked.

And so, under the astonished gaze of the crowd.

The cruise ship started moving, then gradually headed deeper into the sea.

The wealthy hiding in the cabins were unaware of everything that had transpired in the cockpit.

Only those who noticed the issue and followed were witness to such a terrifying scene.

Suddenly, everyone felt a chill and goosebumps rose.

Gu Xiaoxi, with Jing Haoran, retreated to a deserted part of the deck.

Looking into the night, she worriedly said to Jing Haoran, "I need to use my power now to check the surroundings. If I faint, take me back to my room immediately."

"How are you going to check?" Jing Haoran was curious.

Without a second thought, Gu Xiaoxi took out a knife and slit her fingertip.

The next second, a drop of blood emerged.

Gu Xiaoxi closed her eyes, releasing her Spiritual Sense.

At that moment, her mind became crystal clear, and her Spiritual Sense soared skyward.

Just when she wanted to sense more, that feeling of being watched returned.

In her Spiritual Sense, it seemed as if a pair of malicious eyes lurked in the dark, and that unnerving sensation was even more pronounced than before.

Moments later, Gu Xiaoxi suddenly stumbled, jerked open her eyes, and hastily wiped the blood from her finger.

She grabbed Jing Haoran and hid in a small room behind her.

Gu Xiaoxi leaned against the ship, gasping heavily.

"What happened?" Jing Haoran asked.

Gu Xiaoxi patted her chest, feeling terrified.

Just now, a force, like a venomous snake, had latched onto her Spiritual Sense.

If she hadn’t reacted quickly and wiped the blood from her hand, she definitely would have been tracked by that person.

...

At that moment, in the clouds, a dark shadow muttered to itself with a "Huh."

"Child of God?" the person muttered to themselves. But unsure, when they tried to pursue it again, they couldn’t chase down anything.

Gu Xiaoxi knew that her power alone could no longer change the overall situation.

For now, they could only take one step at a time.

To see where this ship was heading?
