Shao Changfeng and Zhao Zilong both furrowed their brows, "Hey, are you sneaking off to be lazy?"

Gu Xiaoxi turned around, glanced at everyone, spread her hands helplessly, and chuckled, "Not at all! Someone is helping me out, so there’s no place for me to use my skills. I’ll just grab a drink of water and come back."

Shao Changfeng and Zhao Zilong were at a loss for words. How come this woman was so popular? It made sense for men to like her, but why did women like her as well?

With cheerful steps, Gu Xiaoxi left the kennel and briskly walked towards the dormitory building.

Liu Fei had someone take her bag to the women’s dormitory ahead of time.

Following the directions given earlier by Liu Fei, Gu Xiaoxi headed to the women’s dormitory.

She ran up the stairs to the fourth floor in one go and found room 405, its door wide open, with four female soldiers inside.

Their ages were similar to hers, all having clear eyebrows and beautiful eyes.

"Hello, everyone!" Gu Xiaoxi walked up with a beaming smile to greet them.

"Are you the new girl?" Qin Weiwei stepped forward to size up Gu Xiaoxi, her gaze finally resting on Gu Xiaoxi’s pretty face, where a flash of jealousy passed through her eyes, "I’m the boss of this dormitory. As long as you follow our rules, we won’t make things difficult for you."

"Oh!" Gu Xiaoxi grinned, her smile innocent and pure, looking very much like a naive newbie. "So what are the rules I should follow?"

She observed the female soldier in front of her, who looked to be about twenty-one or twenty-two, quite tall, with regular features, some spots on her cheeks, and wheat-colored skin which wouldn’t show that single flaw unless one looked closely.

Qin Weiwei curled her lips into a smile, circled around Gu Xiaoxi, then said with a cold tone, "The old rules. Every newcomer has to clean for a month, wash socks for a month, and fold blankets for a month."

"That’s a lot," Gu Xiaoxi raised her hand to rub her messy hair, her face showing a bit of dissatisfaction.

"Is it? I haven’t finished yet! You also have to replace us in the cafeteria to help out," Qin Weiwei assigned almost all the unwilling tasks to Gu Xiaoxi.

Scratching her head, Gu Xiaoxi pretended to look at the others with pure innocence, "Did all of you do the same when you arrived?"

The other three female soldiers immediately nodded, their eyes revealing a hint of dissatisfaction with Qin Weiwei.

"What if I don’t?" Gu Xiaoxi was still smiling, but at that moment, her smile became increasingly sinister, sending shivers down one’s spine.

"You don’t have to do it!"

Gu Xiaoxi expected Qin Weiwei to threaten her, but to her surprise, instead of anger, Qin Weiwei spoke with a relaxed air, "Then I’ll be going out. You three don’t forget who you belong to."

With that, Qin Weiwei walked out of the dormitory.

Gu Xiaoxi pulled her bag from the table and noticed someone had gone through her stuff, including her phone, whose screen had been smashed.

"Who did this?" Gu Xiaoxi was immediately enraged. Since her phone was password-protected, she wasn’t worried about people looking through it.

But purely out of anger and disgust, someone had touched her stuff.

They had rummaged through her bag and even smashed her phone.

"It wasn’t us!" another female soldier in the dorm, Wang Yuyan, stuttered defensively in a low voice.

"If it wasn’t you, who was it?" Gu Xiaoxi was angrier than she had ever been. Touching her belongings—who was bold enough to do such a thing?

Even Zhang Jingyue, who didn’t get along with her, and Li Jing, who didn’t like her, wouldn’t dare touch her stuff.
