Chapter 173: Chapter 106 Relapse of an Old Injury (1)
Gu Xiaoxi opened the door and walked to Quan Shaoqing’s entryway. There was no sound from within; she didn’t need to guess that he was likely taking a shower.
She turned around to the kitchen, poured herself a glass of water, and sipped as she waited for him.
Half an hour later, Gu Xiaoxi had finished three glasses of water, and he still hadn’t come out. She decided to take the initiative and knock on the door.
However, she knocked several times with no response. She pressed her ear to the door, hearing a faint sound, but couldn’t make out what it was.
Out of curiosity, she reached out to push the door open.
The room was dark, shadow enveloping every corner. A sliver of weak light from the doorway fell upon the figure crouched on the ground, that prideful silhouette.
At that moment, Quan Shaoqing sat on the floor, clutching his chest, his fingers clenched so tightly that the veins bulged, and large beads of sweat covered his forehead.
Even in the darkness, his face appeared a shade of deathly pale.
"What’s wrong with you?" Gu Xiaoxi felt a sudden constriction in her chest, recalling what Lin Mi had said the day before. He was injured, and it was a stubborn injury, difficult to heal.
She rushed to him, grasping his hand, only then did she realize his muscles were tensed to the brink, his strong arms like iron rods, especially since his complexion looked incredibly frightening.
"Get out!" Quan Shaoqing suddenly yelled at her.
Gu Xiaoxi felt his voice was brutally harsh, scaring her heart into involuntary palpitations.
Yet even so, she did not back down but instead took his hand and channeled her own Spiritual Power into his body.
She remembered that her Inner Strength used to be healing; she had saved Yi Chentian before. At that time, her Inner Strength and Spiritual Power were mixed, not profound.
Now she had separated the two different streams of energy, purely refined Spiritual Power, which could surely heal internal injuries faster.
After a moment, Gu Xiaoxi’s forehead was covered in cold sweat, because Quan Shaoqing’s internal injuries were far more terrifying than she had imagined.
All her Spiritual Power poured into his body like a stone sinking into the ocean, not making any difference at all.
"I told you to leave, did you not hear me!" Quan Shaoqing was now sitting on the floor, motionless, his body rigid and icy as if he were a stone statue.
Gu Xiaoxi felt a tumultuous surge in her body, but she still held on to his hand, holding it tightly and not letting go.
"Where would you have me go?" Gu Xiaoxi’s voice turned cold, as she channeled more Spiritual Power into him with greater effort.
Yet her actions did not alleviate his pain and instead left her feeling utterly exhausted.
What on earth was happening? Why was it like this?
Gu Xiaoxi suddenly felt panicked, realizing she couldn’t help him at all. Just then, a drawing force from inside him nearly sucked away all her Inner Strength.
Startled, Gu Xiaoxi quickly withdrew her Spiritual Power, her face turning pale. She raised her head to look at Quan Shaoqing, her expression incredulous, "What on earth is going on?"
Quan Shaoqing was now leaning against the wall, his lips pale, gasping for air, with sweat as large as beans streaming down his face.
His eyebrows were furrowed into a deep frown, indicating the extent of his pain.
"Get out! Leave!" Quan Shaoqing continued to issue his command with an indifferent tone.
Gu Xiaoxi was angrily grinding her teeth, "In this state, you still refuse to let me know. What’s happening to you? What’s wrong, and what can I do to help? Should we go to the hospital?"
She was furious that he was so seriously injured and yet was telling her to leave.
He kept saying they were family, so why couldn’t he share even a bit of his suffering with her?
