Chapter 1105: Chapter 1105: I Have to Take You to the Hospital Chapter 1105: Chapter 1105: I Have to Take You to the Hospital “Have I been holding you up?” Jasmine Yale quickly said.
It was already a big imposition for her to ask him to take her to the hospital in the middle of the night, not to mention that he had stayed with her the whole time.
“It’s fine, work has been slow lately,” Yukon Carbon said with a slight smile.
In the daylight, his smile came across as clear and bright.
“I really appreciate you, and Aunt Camden too. This is the first time something like this has happened to me since I’ve been alone in Cakago.”
“These things happen. Next time, call my mother right away if something comes up; she’s always there,” Yukon instructed.
Jasmine nodded.
Since arriving in Cakago, Aunt Camden had been the person she was most grateful for.
She took her in, gave her a job, and cared a lot about her life.
Life had indeed been getting better slowly after she first arrived in Cakago…
Yukon went to the kitchen and brought back some porridge. “I’m not sure how it tastes, but try to eat a bit. You should rest at home for a few days with the condition you’re in. I’ll speak to my mother; your salary will be paid as usual.”
“Mr. Carbon, I really don’t know how to thank you. Once I get better, I’ll work harder,” she said.
Yukon laughed, “First, focus on getting well.”
Jasmine took the bowl and began to eat the porridge, spoonful by spoonful.
The porridge, just taken out of its thermal container, was still hot, its aroma permeating the air.
Yukon sat on the edge of the bed, looking at her seriously. “Why were you so against staying in the hospital last night?”
Jasmine’s hand, holding the spoon, paused, and she shook her head. “I’m just scared of hospitals.”
“You can’t be so stubborn in the future. If you need to be hospitalized, you should stay. It’s a good thing your fever broke today. If it hadn’t, I would have taken you to the hospital by force.”
“What a tyrant,” Jasmine laughed. “I’m still young; my body can handle it. Besides, I get fevers a few times a year anyway.”
“Focus on eating your porridge. I also bought you some fruit, remember to eat that as well.”
Jasmine lowered her head and continued to eat her porridge.
The warmth of the porridge filled her belly, and warmth spread to her chest.
During her meal, Sweet Kitty came running in, looking up at Jasmine with a mix of hope and confusion.
“Your cat is very sensible, it stayed right by your side all night, never leaving. If it hadn’t kept meowing in the house last night, I might not have come in to check on you,” Yukon said, looking down at the little creature on the floor.
“Meow–” Sweet Kitty obediently mewed as if it understood Yukon was praising it.
“Yeah, I raised Sweet Kitty myself, we’re very close.”
“Called Sweet Kitty? Hmm… it is quite well-behaved,” Yukon remarked.
Sweet Kitty scratched at the bed, wanting to jump up beside Jasmine.
“Sweet Kitty, Jasy wants a cuddle,” said Jasmine, putting down her bowl of porridge.
Yukon bent down, picked up the little thing from the floor, and with a smile, handed it over to Jasmine.
Sweet Kitty was thoroughly content, lying on the blanket, and looking at Jasmine with glee.
The cat had been terrified last night, but now Jasy was fine.
Yukon stroked Sweet Kitty, which had been quite afraid of him the night before but now seemed to warm up to him.
“I had a cat when I was young, but it got lost,” Yukon shared, “It looked quite similar to yours.”
“Didn’t get another one after that?”
“Hmm, got busy with work, and didn’t have the time to keep one.”
“Mr. Carbon, did you grow up in Cakago from a young age?”
“I grew up in China, moved to Cakago with my family for college, and then worked in Old York after graduation,” Yukon said, “My mother told me that you came to Cakago all by yourself, is that right?”
Jasmine nodded. “Yes, I came here alone.”
