Chapter 1100 - Chapter 1100 Chapter 1100 The Man Ive Known for Sixteen Years
Chapter 1100: Chapter 1100: The Man I’ve Known for Sixteen Years Chapter 1100: Chapter 1100: The Man I’ve Known for Sixteen Years The next day was another clear and sunny day; the autumn sun shone brightly, and the morning air was filled with drifting white fog.
Today’s fog was thick, and Jasmine Yale, wrapped in an orange scarf, walked on the path to the campus.
Overnight, her mood had calmed down a lot.
It was like nothing had happened the previous evening; she hadn’t made any cakes, nor had she gone to Time.
Everything was calm as water.
She had missed an afternoon’s worth of classes yesterday, so she came to the classroom early to catch up on her notes.
Sometimes she felt truly foolish, unable to learn from her mistakes.
In the mornings, classmates would bring newspapers into the classroom.
Since many students in the class were from overseas and hadn’t started lessons yet, they liked to read the newspapers and chat about domestic news and gossip.
Plus, being journalism majors, they were even keener on digging into insider scoops.
Jasmine Yale sat at the back of the classroom, head down, catching up on notes.
But the voices of the boys discussing the news behind her still drifted over–
“Isn’t this Joan Harry, who won the ‘Miss World’ title last year?”
“Is it? It really is her! No wonder she’s a champion; what a figure, and she looks so classy too.”
“That beauty pageant still holds some value.”
“I heard she’s the daughter of CEO Harry from Landon, Yacob Harry. Is that true or just a rumor?”
“Truth can’t be faked, and fakes can’t be true. Miss Harry does indeed come from a notable background and is never involved in any negative press.”
“Right, she’s not one of those celebrities, so there’s no need for a bunch of scandalous hype. I heard she entered the pageant just for fun and ended up winning.”
“Is this scandal true?” a boy pointed at the newspaper, “Miss Harry celebrating her boyfriend’s birthday?”
“You guys are out of the loop!” a boy from Landon interjected, “I heard about Joan Harry having a boyfriend with a substantial background before I came to study abroad. It’s all very vague, though; the information isn’t clear.”
“It’s a shame such a beauty isn’t in showbiz.”
“Let me see.” The boy flipped through the newspaper, “The guy’s a finance empire CEO with a fortune of a hundred billion? Who is that?”
“The photo’s taken so poorly you can’t make out the details, and the guy seems to be keeping a low profile.”
The boys chattered more enthusiastically than the girls.
Jasmine Yale’s hand, holding a pen, paused.
Suddenly, she turned around and snatched the newspaper from their hands!
“Hey, hey, Jasmine, why are you grabbing our newspaper?!”
But they didn’t fuss with her; it seemed Jasmine Yale had quite an inclination for gossip, able to listen in while she took her notes.
Jasmine Yale flipped to the photo they were discussing–
It was indeed a candid shot, at a manor, men and women paired off.
It was a nighttime photo, with one woman’s profile clearly captured, easily recognizable as Joan Harry.
Only the man’s back was in the frame.
But that back, Jasmine Yale knew all too well.
The man she had known for sixteen years, she wondered to what extent she knew him — she could probably tell what he was going to do just by the lift of his hand.
A faint haze clouded Jasmine Yale’s eyes, and her face, struck by astonishment, returned to calm after two or three seconds.
“Jasmine, you’re interested in this stuff too?”
Jasmine Yale returned the newspaper to them, “Not interested.”
“You’re lying. If you weren’t interested, why would you snatch our newspaper?”
“Just wanted to see how they write gossip news.”
With that said, Jasmine Yale turned her head away.
The boys behind her did not quiet down, laughing and discussing non-stop.
