Chapter 1006 - Chapter 1006 Chapter 1006 No Need for Surgery
Chapter 1006: Chapter 1006: No Need for Surgery Chapter 1006: Chapter 1006: No Need for Surgery Sylvan Cheney looked Chris Fern up and down again; he really seemed to have completely forgotten everything.
The doctor whispered, “Mr. Cheney, he indeed can’t remember anything, including his name–I was the one who told him that.”
“Do I have any relatives? What relation are you to me?” Chris Fern asked Sylvan Cheney.
“You don’t have any relatives; Mr. Cheney is your friend,” the doctor coaxed.
“Oh,” Chris Fern didn’t ask further.
The doctor had already told him these things.
The doctor had also said that he used to be a doctor, which accounted for his strong interest in medical equipment upon waking up.
Sylvan didn’t linger in the ward any longer; he left quickly, with the doctor following behind.
In the office, Sylvan Cheney sat on the sofa and inquired, “How is his current physical condition?”
“His physical functions have recovered, and there are no serious problems–just quite weak,” the doctor replied, “There’s still a part of a blood clot in his brain, which is probably the biggest reason affecting his memory.”
“Can another surgery be performed?”
“That’s uncertain; we need to observe, and we can’t guarantee the success rate of the surgery either. If the blood clot dissolves on its own, that would be best. If not, then we’ll have to figure something out.”
“If the blood clot dissolves, will his memory recover?”
“Hard to say, it’s entirely up to luck.”
“Has he shown any abnormal reactions?” Sylvan Cheney asked.
“No, there haven’t been any. He’s very gentle and doesn’t have much of a temper; it’s just that he can’t remember anything, and that’s very painful for him. He had just been standing in front of the window for a long time.”
“Keep someone on watch, you are responsible for the entire process.”
“Yes, Mr. Cheney, I will do my duty. I noticed he’s very interested in medical things, so I plan to let him look at some books.”
“You arrange it,” Sylvan Cheney said indifferently, “Keep the news of his awakening under wraps for now, no spreading the word.”
“Yes,” the doctor nodded, “Do we need to proceed with further treatment for him?”
“For now, stick to conservative treatment, no need for surgery.”
“Okay.”
“Charles Mcintosh, increase the hospital’s security, add more people,” Sylvan Cheney directed.
“Yes, I’ll go arrange that immediately,” Charles Mcintosh responded.
Charles Mcintosh didn’t know how Sylvan Cheney would deal with Chris Fern, after all, they hadn’t anticipated Chris Fern losing all his memory.
A person who has lost their memory is like a clueless child, knowing nothing about the world.
Not even knowing who they themselves are.
Similarly, all past loves, hatreds, and entanglements are forgotten.
Charles Mcintosh knew, this… was a good thing for Chris Fern.
If he remembered the despicable things he had done before, would he regret them?
It’s for the best that he doesn’t remember.
After all, he hadn’t wanted to live, that gunshot was meant for suicide.
Sylvan Cheney talked with the doctor for a while longer; the doctor’s opinion remained the same, he might remember everything tomorrow, or he might never regain his memory for the rest of his life.
What was needed in between was a catalyst.
“Mr. Cheney, he can be transferred to a general ward tomorrow,” the doctor said.
“You arrange it.”
“Okay.”
Sylvan Cheney didn’t stay for much longer and stood up, leaving the hospital soon after.
After seeing off Sylvan Cheney, the doctor went back to Chris Fern’s ward.
Chris Fern was still standing by the window, silently staring outside, as if trying hard to remember the past.
But unfortunately, he couldn’t remember anything.
Not a single memory.
Chris Fern’s head ached from trying; he covered his head, his brow furrowed in pain.
“Chris Fern,” the doctor approached, “stop thinking about it, some things are better forgotten.”
