Chapter 39: Chapter 39 Buying a Gun

Caiman reached out and firmly gripped Mountain Eagle’s hand, then slowly tightened his grasp to feel the strength of Mountain Eagle’s palm...

A few seconds later, Caiman released his hand, shaking his heated right hand, and nodded, saying, "You have a strong grip and a large palm; it’s a hand meant for holding guns...

The model that sells the most here currently is the CZ75 SP-01, but compact pistols don’t seem to suit you very well.

What model do you like?"

After hearing this, Mountain Eagle decisively replied, ".40 caliber CZ Shadow, do you have it?"

Upon hearing this, Caiman nodded and said, "Yes, wait here for a moment..."

As he spoke, Caiman glanced at Tessa and then pondered before saying, "Are you only interested in pistols?

I also have custom-modified Remington and M4 shotguns here, both of which perform extremely well.

I heard about what happened that day, and you handled a shotgun quite impressively..."

Mountain Eagle didn’t understand why it seemed like everyone knew what had happened that day...

His choice of M4 that day wasn’t because he was most skilled with the M4, but because he looked down on the other rifles used by the gang gunmen.

Moreover, when fighting with an unfamiliar gun, one would naturally prefer a more stable, wider attacking range, and more forgiving shotgun.

However, seeing Caiman’s enthusiastic expression and Tessa’s nodding in agreement, Mountain Eagle nodded and said, "Then the M4, I like its crispness and speed..."

Caiman clearly approved of Mountain Eagle’s taste, he gave a thumbs-up and nodded, then called for the staff to serve the group some beverages and went into the storeroom at the back of the shop...

When Caiman came out, he was holding three gun cases, one long and two short...

Placing the gun cases on the coffee table in the lounge area, Caiman handed one to Tessa and then gestured to Mountain Eagle, "You can have a look at the guns now..."

Mountain Eagle nodded and pushed open a gun case with a pistol inside, which was a deeply customized CZ75.

The gun’s pure black body had been made lighter, and the new custom slide differed slightly from the traditional boxy look of CZ. The polymer grip had been obviously elongated and the bottom of the grip’s magazine entrance was made with an open slot; at the sight a delicate holographic red dot sight had been mounted...

Mountain Eagle wasn’t keen on mounting scopes on pistols, but he still carefully felt it out...

The trigger pull was light, the shape of the magazine catch felt comfortable, and the safeties were in very convenient positions and shapes.

This was a typical competition pistol: lightweight, fast to shoot, and uncertain accuracy, but certainly not bad...

The gun was definitely outstanding, yet Mountain Eagle wasn’t too attracted to such flashy customization.

Because he knew all too well, the deeper the customization, the lower the reliability of the pistol!

To Mountain Eagle, such a gun was truly more a toy, lacking much practical combat significance.

After feeling it out for a while, Mountain Eagle placed the gun back in the case and then picked up another black CZ75 Shadow...

This gun’s weight fit his preference well!

While it also changed the shape and length of the polymer ergonomic grip, this gun removed the open slot at the bottom, using an extended magazine that increased the original capacity from 12 to 15 rounds of .40 caliber ammunition.

The magazine catch and safety mechanism were similar to the previously customized gun, however, this gun lacked flashy sights and used a low front and high rear wedge-shaped sighting.

The trigger pull was also based on practical needs, slightly heavier than the previous one.

Without a real test firing, Mountain Eagle couldn’t judge the quality of the gun entirely; however, by craftsmanship and appearance alone, this simple handgun met Mountain Eagle’s aesthetic and practical requirements.

Mountain Eagle cocked the hammer to the ready-to-fire position and engaged the safety, made a motion as if drawing the gun from the waist, released the safety as the handgun was raised, and then pulled the trigger...

The ’standby locking’ feature of the CZ is what is most appreciated by industry insiders...

Cocking the hammer and engaging the safety, then one can reholster the gun, draw it when needed, disengage the safety and pull the trigger to fire.

This feature for emergency situations takes into account both speed and safety which is a highlight of this type of gun.

Weighing about one kilogram with an overall length of approximately 20 centimeters, the CZ Phantom is slightly compact for the tall Mountain Eagle, but the weight is just right, and the .40 caliber ammunition also suits his preference.

After trying a few times, Mountain Eagle quickly disassembled the handgun to inspect it, then rapidly reassembled it, and finally satisfied, put the gun back in its case...

"What a great gun!

Comfortable grip, conveniently located and shaped safety, excellent trigger pull!"

Mountain Eagle gave Caiman a thumbs up, expressed his admiration, and said, "I’ll take this gun, also need four extended spare magazines, a quick-draw holster, and matching .40 bullets."

Caiman also liked knowledgeable buyers because only those who are knowledgeable can truly appreciate the benefits of his customized guns...

Compared to the first competition-grade customized gun, the one Mountain Eagle chose was more suitable for actual combat operations.

Feeling good, Caiman unreservedly accepted Mountain Eagle’s compliments, personally opened the last gun case, and said, "There’s not much to introduce about the shotgun, try it and see if you like it. If it’s close enough, I’ll take you to the shooting range to test fire..."

Mountain Eagle looked at the gun case, only to find that inside was not the previously requested Benelli M4, but a modified Benelli M2...

The official ghost ring sights were replaced with notch sights...

The extended stock had a soft pad at the bottom, and the rear grip connected to the stock was polymer-wrapped providing not only excellent hand-feel but also anti-slip and sweat-proof properties.

The receiver was made of aluminum alloy, and the exterior of the gun was coated with a metal ion plating process, the matte texture made the entire gun seem much higher-end.

The enlarged bolt release button after modification made the operation of the whole gun more convenient and efficient.

Other modifications include the spring, competition trigger group, extended magazine...

This gun was clearly built by an expert, the detail work was very thorough, not only stable enough for everyday use but also managed to meet the responsiveness required for competition shooting to some extent.

For actual competition, this gun wouldn’t qualify because the modifications weren’t extreme enough, but for everyday use, this is a truly reliable companion.

Mountain Eagle picked up the M2 and quickly cycled the action a few times, then tested the trigger pull, and raised the gun to experience the notch sights, fully feeling the human-machine interface...

"This gun is excellent, the stock is just half an inch too short, but no worries, I can adapt..."

Caiman took the M2, waved to a shop assistant to bring over a gun bag and various accessories, then smiled at Mountain Eagle saying, "You’re a knowledgeable client, I look forward to customizing a few guns for you, but for now, you’ll have to make do."

Mountain Eagle watched as the shop assistant brought over all kinds of sophisticated, small and large accessories, laid them out on the table for inspection...

He subconsciously touched his wallet, spread his hands, and said, "Although I like them, as a buyer, I still want to ask, how much?"

Caiman probably didn’t expect Tessa’s guest to care about money, he was stunned by the question, but after a few seconds, he said with a smile, "The handgun is 350,000 Thai Baht, the M2 modifications are simple, 250,000 Thai Baht should cover it.

You’re Tessa’s friend, these accessories are on the house, I hope you can protect her well..."
