Chapter 260 - 259 Sofia’s Revenge
Chapter 260: Chapter 259 Sofia’s Revenge
Early the next morning, Mountain Eagle and his crew drove away from the villa, and soon he realized, after making several rounds in Moscow, they were back near Red Square.
Watching Sofia instruct the van to enter a parking lot, she then asked Mountain Eagle to follow her alone towards the restaurant opposite the Four Seasons Hotel.
Mountain Eagle exchanged a glance with Butcher, signaling for the rest to stay behind, then he quickly followed Sofia, and somewhat incredulously asked, "Is this the ’key restaurant’ you mentioned?"
Sofia nodded slightly and said, "This restaurant was opened by an old friend of my grandfather’s. Ten years ago, it was on the verge of closure, and I funded it so he could continue operations.
Every Assassin who takes a job comes here to order a special meal, then they receive a contract and a deposit.
I’m not actually safeguarding against anyone, I’m using the downtown restaurant to pay commissions, which is friendlier to those Assassins."
Mountain Eagle nodded and said, "That’s right, attach a compensation agreement behind the Assassin’s contract, claiming they got food poisoning from the restaurant, saving those Assassins the trouble of laundering money.
FUCK, no wonder the restaurant’s food is so greasy..."
Sofia was taken aback, then slightly shook her head and said, "The restaurant’s head chef spent 15 years eating boiled potatoes in prison, so whatever he makes, he likes to use a lot of Butter."
Mountain Eagle suddenly understood, then as Sofia pushed the door to enter the restaurant, he curiously asked, "Do you know if Blood Fox is also very familiar with this restaurant?"
Sofia shook her head and said, "I only saw Blood Fox once or twice when I was very young, I don’t remember what Blood Fox looks like anymore."
As Sofia was speaking, Mountain Eagle saw an old man in a wheelchair appear at the door...
The old fellow’s hair was gone, his complexion was rather good, the bulging muscles on his bare arms indicated that he must have been very strong in the past.
Sofia took the initiative to lean over and hug the old man, and said, "Bring us some breakfast..."
Mountain Eagle had never seen the old man before, and didn’t know if he should approach to greet him, but the old man very proactively extended his hand to Mountain Eagle...
"You did well, kid!"
Mountain Eagle felt the strength in the handshake and laughed as he said, "Thanks!"
People with handicaps in their legs generally have a strong grip.
The old man gripped firmly, and seeing Mountain Eagle’s indifferent expression, he sighed somewhat sadly and said, "I’m old, that bastard Blood Fox got lucky..."
Mountain Eagle looked at the old man’s smiling face, surveyed the empty restaurant, and then cautiously asked in a lower voice, "Arctic Fox?"
The old man was startled for a moment and then shook his head, "No, I don’t qualify, I’m a deserter!"
Mountain Eagle didn’t continue to press the matter, and looking at the empty restaurant, curiously asked Sofia, "What are you planning next?"
Sofia didn’t answer Mountain Eagle’s question but instead looked at the old man and asked, "Any news?"
The old man nodded and said, "The contracts were sent out last night, and there should be news soon."
With that, the old man used his hands to navigate the wheelchair in a different direction, waved towards the kitchen, and then said to Sofia, "Have a seat, breakfast will be served shortly, and by the time you’re finished, the person you’re looking for should be here."
Mountain Eagle, accustomed to handling things directly and openly, was not used to Sofia’s methods. As he sat waiting for breakfast, he looked at Sofia and said, "What exactly are you preparing to do?"
After thanking the Chef who poured her coffee, Sofia looked at Mountain Eagle and said, "I have a meeting with the owner of an England-based equipment company, the equipment and materials for constructing Mario’s meth factory were provided by him."
Mountain Eagle frowned and said, "This so-called owner of the equipment company, is he with England’s MI6?"
Sofia shook her head and said, "No, at most he’s an informant, helping MI6 collect some commercial intelligence in Moscow while helping to smuggle some illegal goods, like weapons..."
Mountain Eagle stroked his chin and said, "You want to find MI6’s people through him?
How are you so sure he will come here?"
Sofia took a sip of her black coffee with no sugar and no milk, and expressionlessly said, "Because his wife and three children are in my hands, he has to come to meet me."
Mountain Eagle suddenly understood; Mario had escaped, and with MI6’s agent having offended the top echelons of Russia, it wasn’t possible to not flee.
It was impossible to find them through conventional means at this time, so the only option was to find someone who knew them.
Glancing at the old man who had moved back to the cash register, Mountain Eagle curiously said, "The ’contracts sent out’ you mentioned just now, are they targeting the relatives of the target?"
Sofia nodded and then shook her head, "Some of them are, and a few are aimed at a few ’old friends,’ the ones who brought Mario into the drug circle..."
Mountain Eagle was not accustomed to Sofia’s way of doing things. Had it been him, he would have personally gone with a gun to find those people and vent his full anger.
But he had to admit, Sofia’s character and approach were efficient and particularly suited for taking over the list in his hands.
As Mountain Eagle was thinking, two greasy breakfasts were delivered from the kitchen...
Mountain Eagle was indeed a bit hungry; he ate his meal voraciously, and just as he was about to ask for some water to help with the greasiness, a middle-aged man in a black suit, his shirt hanging loose and slightly balding at the top, pushed open the door and entered the restaurant.
Upon seeing Sofia, the middle-aged man angrily walked up to her...
Mountain Eagle glanced at the panting middle-aged man, pushed his plate aside, stood up to change seats, and also asked for a cup of water.
"What the hell do you want, you crazy woman? Where is my wife and children?"
Sofia methodically cut through the greasy Butter potatoes on her plate with knife and fork, not even glancing at the middle-aged man...
"They are fine; they might not even know what happened if you are willing to cooperate."
The middle-aged man sat across from Sofia, clasped his head in his hands and after a few seconds of struggle, said, "Sofia, I only did a few deals with Mario, I don’t know what happened between you guys!
Why are you coming after me?"
Sofia looked up at the middle-aged man with an innocent face and said without expression, "David, do I need to remind you who you are working for?
When have you done business with methamphetamine manufacturing equipment before?
Give me some names, I need to know who exactly is out to destroy the Milosevic family."
After hearing this, the middle-aged man David spoke with a stiff expression, "Since you know who I work for, you should know those people are not to be messed with.
Sofia, I am willing to compensate you for your losses. I can refund you all the money Mario spent on the equipment.
Please, spare my family, please don’t let things get out of hand!"
Sofia looked at David with her green eyes until he uncomfortably avoided her gaze. Then she said, "Give me some names..."
As she spoke, Sofia took out her phone, brought up a photo, and showed it to David...
The photo displayed a woman and three children asleep in a car that was parked on a railway track.
When David, with a sweaty forehead, looked at the photo, Sofia said emotionlessly, "The train will pass in 3 minutes, give me some names..."
David covered his face in agony and said, "Sofia, don’t do this, we’ll all die!"
Sofia stated coldly, "Sofia Milosevic is already dead, you have 2 minutes left..."
Sofia didn’t raise her voice, but David began to tremble all over...
He clasped his hands and tried to control himself, but his body wouldn’t respond.
"One more minute..."
Upon hearing this, David suddenly shouted, "Let them go, let them go, I’ll tell you..."
"45 seconds left..."
David collapsed, clutching his head, shouting, "Please, let them go..."
"30 seconds..."
David tore at his hair frantically, yelling out loud, "Aisha Hodler, code name Banshee, Edward Miller, code name Locksmith...
Let them go, let them go, please!!"
Sofia nodded slightly and calmly brought up another photo, saying, "They are safe for now; I need more information.
Their height, appearance, accent, distinctive features, everything you know..."
After David’s mental defenses were broken, he had no power to resist.
In response to Sofia’s questions, he resigned himself and said, "I don’t know if the names they gave me are real, I only know those are the names they used to book hotels.
But their code names are definitely real!
’Banshee’ is a beautiful woman, with black hair, brown eyes, around 30 years old, speaking with a bit of an East London accent.
’Locksmith’ is of Irish descent, with red hair, around 35 years old, oh, he has a scar by the corner of his eye..."
Speaking, David stood up, braced his hands on the table, looked down at Sofia, and growled, "I’ve said all I know, let my family go."
Sofia ignored David’s roar, looked into his eyes calmly, and asked, "Which hotel are they staying at in Moscow?"
David clutched the edge of the table tightly and cried out, "They stayed at the Moscow Metropolitan Hotel for two nights a month ago, that’s all I know, is it enough?"
Sofia nodded faintly and said, "You can leave now..."
David was stunned for a moment, then shouted, "What about my family?"
Sofia glanced at her watch and said calmly, "They should wake up in the garage of their house in about 30 minutes..."
Hearing this, David gritted his teeth and said, "Sofia, don’t deceive me, or you’ll regret it!"
Sofia shook her head indifferently and replied, "You surely won’t see it..."
David was taken aback, then suddenly felt a strong arm wrap around his neck...
The head chef who had personally recommended special dishes to Mountain Eagle, used his thick arm to choke David’s neck. In just over ten seconds, David had turned purple and passed out.
Subsequently, a young man in a chef’s uniform came over with a wheeled trash bin, helped the head chef stuff David into the bin.
While closing the lid, the young man made sure to slice David’s carotid artery with a knife.
Watching the young man pocket the gleaming chef’s knife, then push the trash bin toward the back kitchen with the head chef...
Mountain Eagle shook his head and said, "I’m never coming back here for a meal again!"
