Chapter 216: Chapter 208: Taming Angus Cattle with Intelligence!
The Little Prince tilted his head.
"I’m not a sloth, why would I eat leaves?"
"Buzz buzz, gurgle gurgle."
The Little Prince pointed at the beehive nearby, giggling as he hugged Han Qiwu’s arm, rubbing against him while making sound effects.
Han Qiwu found it rather amusing. "Oh, so you want honey, huh?"
"Mm-hm, mm-hm."
The Little Prince nodded repeatedly.
"Will you still dare to sneak food in front of me again?"
The Little Prince quickly shook his head.
Han Qiwu chuckled but didn’t take it seriously.
He was well aware of the Little Prince’s usual behavior.
Quick to admit fault, never to change.
"The honey’s not ready yet. Let’s see how you do tomorrow." Han Qiwu patted the Little Prince’s bear-like head.
"Roar!"
The Little Prince immediately beamed with silly delight.
After coaxing the Little Prince and Little Shui, Han Qiwu headed towards Jilei Mountain to check on the four little calves.
As he approached, he didn’t go in right away but carefully peeked through the window to inspect the situation.
Hmm, everything looked good.
All four calves were resting quietly in their designated spots, and there were no signs of another "feeding incident" like last time.
"As expected, cows are simple and honest," Han Qiwu remarked with satisfaction as he stepped into Jilei Mountain and walked over to the Angus Cattle.
"Little An, you performed well today."
"Moo, moo, moo!"
The Angus Cattle took a few steps forward and nuzzled its head against Han Qiwu’s hand.
As Han Qiwu was petting it, he suddenly noticed something was off.
Pulling back his hand, he squatted down for a closer look, then walked over to check on Little Red’s spot.
The more he looked, the angrier he got.
The entire area was littered with remnants of dried-up cow feed.
After thinking for a moment, Han Qiwu figured out what had happened.
"Ah, I forgot that cows regurgitate their food. What now?" Han Qiwu muttered, a bit distressed.
Should he separate them?
Nope.
The four spots were close enough that they could see each other. Separating them wouldn’t stop this behavior.
Should he build another cow pen to isolate them?
No way.
They didn’t have enough materials at home. By the time they gathered enough, the Angus Cattle might already starve.
So what now?
He needed to make the Angus Cattle fall in love with eating.
After pondering for a while, Han Qiwu heard the sounds of the Little Prince playing in the courtyard. Suddenly, he had an idea.
Got it!
"Little An, have you not been eating properly lately?" Han Qiwu asked the Angus Cattle with a cheerful smile.
The Angus Cattle, thick-skinned as ever, shook its head emphatically to insist that it had been eating well.
"Then maybe you really can’t cut it. What a shame." Han Qiwu sighed, walked over to Little Red’s stall, opened the gate, and slowly led Little Red outside by the reins.
The Angus Cattle froze, confused.
What do you mean, I can’t cut it??
Master, explain yourself!
But Han Qiwu wasn’t in a rush. While leading Little Red out, he chatted casually to Little Red, "Ah, Little Red, you have the most unique constitution, and you’re my favorite. I’ll definitely find you a good match—big, strong, the stronger, the better."
As he spoke, Han Qiwu led Little Red out of Jilei Mountain.
He left the door open.
From the Angus Cattle’s perspective, it had a perfect view of the outside.
After leading Little Red out, Han Qiwu let it munch on the grass near the entrance, then ran to the courtyard to summon the Little Prince, whispering a few words into its ear.
Hearing Han Qiwu’s plan, the Little Prince instinctively wanted to shake its head.
It still wanted to play for a little longer.
"I’ll get you a full helping of honey tomorrow. Don’t haggle—say no, and you won’t get any," Han Qiwu said with a sly grin.
No way that rascal would refuse to work.
Sure enough, as soon as the Little Prince heard about the honey, it immediately agreed with a big smile and dashed toward Little Red.
Inside Jilei Mountain, the Angus Cattle was gazing at Little Red outside, exchanging flirtatious glances and enjoying their lively chatter.
What a strange comment the master made earlier...
I’m clearly the strongest one here!
Little Red is mine!
Just then, it froze at what it saw.
The burly Little Prince strolled over, grabbed Little Red’s head into a bear hug, flexed its muscles, then leaned in amorously against Little Red.
If this wasn’t suggestive, nothing was.
"Bang, bang, bang!"
In an instant, the Angus Cattle charged at the fence in front of it.
It was normally very docile.
But this? This it couldn’t tolerate!
It had to prove to its master that it was the strongest!
But after smashing against the fence, a dizzying weakness swept over the Angus Cattle.
"What’s happening? Why do I feel so feeble?" The Angus Cattle felt its vision blur and its body sway.
Hidden nearby, Han Qiwu laughed to himself. Silly cow, two days without eating—who wouldn’t feel dizzy?
As the Angus Cattle wobbled, the Little Prince grew bolder, lowering its head to inspect Little Red’s milk-producing area.
"Moo!!!"
The Angus Cattle’s eyes immediately burned red with anger.
Seeing that the timing was just right, Han Qiwu quickly signaled the Little Prince to retreat.
Couldn’t let the Angus Cattle get so mad that it dropped dead.
After calling back the Little Prince, Han Qiwu tossed two bags of feed into the Angus Cattle’s feeder and said bluntly, "If you stay this weak, you’ll have no chance with Little Red."
"Moo!!!!"
The furious Angus Cattle devoured the feed in massive mouthfuls, headbutting the fence as it chewed, training its horns.
It had to prove itself!
I am the strongest!
Han Qiwu looked on with satisfaction at the scene before him.
Ah, love truly is a miraculous force.
Eat up. Train hard.
With this, your muscles are sure to be irresistible.
After settling the cow pen situation, Han Qiwu grabbed his ax and set off to chop down some big trees.
"The oil press requires 20 hardwood, 50 Slime sludges, and 1 gold ingot," Han Qiwu thought aloud as he chopped. "I cut 12 pieces of hardwood yesterday. If I cut 8 more today, that’ll be enough. We’ve got plenty of Slime sludge, and while we’re still short one gold ore for the gold ingot, we’ll definitely open one from all those crystal orbs when Auspicious Day comes around. No worries there."
After an hour of chopping, a worn-out Han Qiwu leaned against a tree stump, drinking water in big gulps and counting his stash of wood at home.
"After all this time, I’ve finally managed to stockpile over 600 pieces of wood," Han Qiwu said with satisfaction, glancing up at the sky.
The bigger the number, the greater the sense of achievement.
Should he use the wood to upgrade the medium chicken coop first or build a basic duck coop?
Chickens or ducks?
That was the question.
After pondering for a few seconds, Han Qiwu decided to work on sprinklers instead.
After building the fish pond, there were only about 180 stones left at home. Upgrading the medium chicken coop needed 500 stones, and crafting the basic duck coop required 200 stones. Neither option was viable.
He’d get back to it later.
Walking over to the storage chest, Han Qiwu grabbed some copper and iron ingots and began crafting.
As he worked, he followed his pre-drawn blueprint to install everything.
After working tirelessly for more than two hours, he finally managed to craft sprinklers from all the metal ingots he’d smelted so far—21 in total.
Victory was in sight!
