Chapter 371: Chapter 371: The Mystery of One’s Birth Revealed, Yun Zhao Acknowledges Relatives (1)_1
Looking at the two children of the same age and height before him, Mo Qingze was deep in thought.
Zhenzhen was naturally intelligent, able to think critically, but also impulsive and opinionated. Now still young and by his side, he and Yanyan could still provide some guidance. However, once Zhenzhen grew up and entered school, without someone constantly beside him as a reminder, he feared the boy might take a wrong path.
Zhaozhao was also impressive, his aptitude and comprehension not inferior to Zhenzhen’s. Although he appeared impulsive, his mind was steadfast, rarely swayed by distractions. If he could watch over Zhenzhen, that would also ease Mo Qingze’s mind.
Yet, housing this child was already somewhat awkward. If he proposed this idea abruptly, the child might overthink and assume he was treated merely as Zhenzhen’s little follower. Over time, this could create resentment, which would not be good for him or Zhenzhen.
Instead, he needed to find a way to position both of them equally. Only then could they foster true fraternal bonds, capable of supporting each other in the future.
After much consideration, Mo Qingze thought that adopting Yun Zhao as a foster son was an excellent idea. In this way, he and Zhenzhen would become legitimate foster brothers, always there to remind Zhenzhen. He truly liked the boy and saw him as his own child or nephew, and would nurture him with the same dedication as he did for Zhenzhen.
With this intent in mind, Mo Qingze observed Yun Zhao more closely, growing increasingly satisfied and firm in his resolve to make the boy his foster son.
Yun Zhao remained outwardly calm under such scrutiny, but inside he was tense, worried that any misstep might cause Mo Qingze to dislike him and expel him and his sister.
During his stay with the Mo Family, he had rediscovered the warmth of family bonds. This Uncle Mo was nothing like his cold, indifferent father.
Both had lost their spouses, but Uncle Mo resisted remarriage and adored his children, something Yun Zhao’s worthless father could never do.
Watching his little friend incessantly peek into the kitchen, he felt envious. Even without a mother, under the affection of his father and sisters, he grew up carefree just like other children his age. Sometimes he couldn’t help but wish he had such a father; no matter how hard or exhausting life was, he would have relished it.
But God did not bless him with a kind father or loving sisters. As the eldest child of his mother, he was meant to grow into a towering man, protecting his sister from the elements, allowing her a carefree upbringing.
An adult and a child each had their own thoughts, yet surprisingly similar.
Mo Qingze, looking affectionately at Yun Zhao, who was getting somewhat uncomfortable under his gaze, asked warmly, "Zhaozhao, Uncle wishes to adopt you as a foster son. Would you like that?"
Foster son? Yun Zhao stared blankly at Mo Qingze, hardly believing his ears. Could it be that God had heard his prayers and thus compensated him with a kind foster father?
Zhenzhen was also stunned, blinking his eyes, looking from his father to his shocked friend, not feeling displeased but rather quite hopeful.
Seeing that Yun Zhao neither spoke nor objected, Mo Qingze assumed he was unwilling to agree and feared being expelled, so he said with a smile, "If Zhaozhao is unwilling, consider that Uncle never mentioned it, Uncle won’t..."
"No!" Yun Zhao suddenly interrupted Mo Qingze, "Zhaozhao is willing!"
As he spoke, he knelt on the ground with a thud and fervently kowtowed three times to Mo Qingze. Then, raising his head, he called out most earnestly, "Foster Father!"
Taken aback by this sudden gesture, even the experienced Mo Qingze was momentarily stunned. Regaining his composure, he hurriedly helped Yun Zhao up, clapping his still thin shoulders and laughing heartily, "Good, good, from today onwards, I have another fine son!"
