Chapter 133: Chapter 133 Treasure Hunting Below the Cliff (2)_1

Mo Yan turned away to ignore it and began to clean the dirt and broken leaves from Little Flower’s body.
After Little Flower was cleaned up and its fur was smooth and glossy again, the Spirit Spring Water finally had an effect on the wolf, and Mo Yan could hear its stomach growling.
The wolf clearly knew what to do and walked over calmly to a densely grassy area.
Shy? Mo Yan looked bemusedly at its retreating figure, convinced that this wolf surely possessed some spirit!
After the wolf had dealt with its natural needs, Mo Yan said goodbye to it. Since it was still early, she needed to press on and explore deeper to see if she could find hard-to-come-by herbs like Ginseng.
The wolf looked at her and stayed put. When Mo Yan continued walking with Little Flower, it followed at a not-too-close but not-too-far distance.
Mo Yan didn’t know what it wanted to do, but since it showed no malice, its presence might even deter other wild beasts. Little Flower really couldn’t be relied upon for protection.
Unaware of Mo Yan’s silent criticism, Little Flower would have been quite upset. The little creature trotted ahead, leading the way. Luckily, having learned from a previous lesson, it was much more cautious in scouting ahead, only proceeding after ensuring there was no danger.
In the more open parts of the forest, Mo Yan located several wild chestnut trees and wild persimmon trees. She chose a few young saplings that were not older than two years to dig up and transplant into the Space, and she also found some Solomon’s Seal plants of respectable age nearby.
The wolf followed quietly. Seeing Mo Yan’s actions, it seemed to understand her intentions. It gave a few low barks, walked ahead, and turned its head back to signal for Mo Yan to follow.
After a moment’s thought, Mo Yan didn’t hesitate and followed.
Being led by its own enemy made Little Flower very unhappy, and it tugged on Mo Yan’s hem, trying to back away.
With a mix of laughter and helplessness, Mo Yan slapped it gently and pulled its ears to drag it along.
Ears seemed to be a common weak spot for all canines. Once Mo Yan pinched them, Little Flower could no longer resist and followed, tail drooped in discontent.
After a long and winding journey that left Mo Yan’s legs sore, yet seeing no signs of the wolf stopping, she thought to ask where it was leading her. Then discarding the idea upon realizing the futility of communication, she gave up.
Fortunately, it was not long before the wolf finally stopped. Mo Yan, seeing this, quickened her pace to catch up and, upon confronting the scene before her, felt dizzy. She hurriedly closed her eyes to wait for the sensation to pass.
Mo Yan wasn’t afraid of heights, but who wouldn’t feel a fear of being swallowed by the deep abyss lined with circling clouds upon first sight?
Gusts of strong wind blew from the edge of the cliff. Mo Yan didn’t dare get too close, so after giving it some thought, she simply lay down on the ground and carefully crawled to the edge to look down.
Once she adjusted to the dizzying depth, she began to search around with her eyes. However, aside from a few gnarled trees on the cliff, she saw no sign of the anticipated Ginseng or Lingzhi.
"Is there something valuable here?" Mo Yan turned to ask the wolf sitting by her side.
The wolf glanced at her, picked up a pebble, walked to the edge of the cliff, and threw it down.
She had thought that from such a height, it would be impossible to hear the pebble hit the ground. Yet, at that moment, the sound of the stone’s impact reached Mo Yan’s ears with surprising clarity.
Mo Yan’s eyes brightened, and she peered carefully down again. Just then, as another gust of wind blew by, she vaguely saw a patch of flat land beneath the enshrouding mist.
Could the treasure be down there?
Mo Yan’s heartbeat quickened, unsure whether to take the gamble.
If there truly was a treasure below, having come so far only to miss it would indeed be regrettable. Yet, if she risked plummeting to her death and found nothing, wouldn’t it all have been in vain?
But... what if it truly was there?
