Chapter 1180: Chapter 374 Attracted Big Trouble_3
The Owl was happily feasting on chicken breast meat while silently praying its master would not discover its unilateral decision to blind someone. But, the more you fear something, the more likely it is to happen. No sooner had it finished its chicken that the little birds, which had been sent out to watch for news, flew back.
Taking advantage of the moment when her family wasn’t paying attention, Mo Yan took the birds into the Space. Outside of the Space, Xue tuanzi couldn’t understand the birds’ language because there was no bond between them.
Xue tuanzi looked down on these birds, simply unwilling to waste Spiritual Power to do so. The Six Beasts were the only creatures barely deserving of its attention and were fortunate enough to form a bond with it, allowing for unobstructed communication regardless of the distance.
With Xue tuanzi’s "translation," Mo Yan finally learned what the Owl had done. For a moment, she broke out in cold sweat, reached out and caught the Owl that tried to flee, at a loss for what to say.
She struggled to hold back before deciding not to knock on its head, instead scolding fiercely, "Didn’t I instruct you to have the snakes bite the person and then leave immediately? How dare you blind someone’s eyes? Now that the matter has escalated, tell me, what should we do?"
With its head drooping, the Owl cooed pitifully twice, honestly admitting its wrongdoing to Mo Yan. It had only intended to teach a lesson to the equally unkind chubby person, never expecting to bring such trouble to its master; otherwise, it wouldn’t have done it even if it meant going without meat!
The large creature with its round head and equally round eyes, looked very much like a cat, appearing silly and cute. After being raised by Mo Yan, it looked even more adorable and harmless. Now, revealing such a cautious and obedient attitude, it was difficult for anyone, no matter how angry, to lash out at such a lovable face.
Mo Yan touched her forehead, wanting to severely discipline the creature to teach it a lesson and prevent it from making decisions on its own again, but she couldn’t bring herself to be that harsh.
After taking several deep breaths, she forced herself to calm down and, poking at the protruding stomach of the Owl, she gritted her teeth and asked, "Then tell me, why did you do this?"
The Owl’s eyes swiveled, and it began to hoot with great intonation and earnestness, its serious explanation making it hard not to laugh.
Mo Yan finally understood why the Owl had attacked Manager Gou’s eyes, and for a moment, she didn’t know whether to scold it or to let it go.
Ever since she had learned that Liyu had escaped from Jinxiu Textile Mill, Mo Yan had sent the Owl to keep an eye on everything in the mill. Fourth Master Shi had harmed innocent children multiple times under the Owl’s watch. Of course, it being a bird, and Mo Yan never having taught it, even with Spiritual Wisdom, didn’t know that this was wrong, and it had never mentioned it to Mo Yan.
It wasn’t until last night that the Owl realized how foolish it had been. Its inner universe exploded with rage, and it consequently clawed Manager Gou’s eyeballs out. In its view, though Fourth Master Shi deserved death for harming so many people, without Manager Gou’s backing and condoning, he wouldn’t have dared to commit such acts, making Manager Gou an accomplice!
Since the accomplice was involved, with the mastermind dead, it must extract a price from the accomplice, and so, it attacked Manager Gou’s eyes—proud of its own bright, beautiful eyes, it couldn’t bear to harm them, so it had to go after the villain’s instead.
Upon learning the reason, Mo Yan didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Looking at the Owl tilting its head with a face begging for affection, she helplessly dismissed the thought of punishing it. She partly blamed herself for not considering this outcome. Now that the issue had blown up, punishing anyone would be useless. It was time to figure out how to cover up this incident and prevent anyone from tracing it back to her.
"Yanyan, as long as you don’t speak up, who will know you did this?" Xuetuan said nonchalantly. Since people were convinced a vengeful spirit had taken revenge, they might as well attribute it to the ghost.
Mo Yan smiled wryly and shook her head, "The idea of a vengeful spirit taking revenge may deceive the common folk, but don’t forget, in the eyes of some, I can control the Six Beasts."
If she could control such fierce beasts, then controlling a few small snakes and an Owl wouldn’t be out of the question, right? If anyone were to make that connection, it could lead to a huge
