Chapter 1132: Chapter 361: Powerful Education Nation, Pregnancy_4

After the formalities were completed, Princess Consort Liang dismissed them; neither dared to utter an extra word, hurriedly leaving with their maid in tow. It was clear to see that Princess Consort Liang had a firm command over her subordinates, and her influence in the backyard of the Prince’s Mansion was not as gentle as it appeared.

Meals in the Prince’s Mansion were served at fixed times, and by late Shen hour, dinner was already prepared. Since Mo Yan and Xiao Ruiyuan were guests, two tables were set up in the dining room: one for the Crown Prince and Xiao Ruiyuan, and another for Mo Yan and Princess Consort Liang, separated by a semi-transparent screen.

The tables were laden with a variety of delicious dishes, some of which Mo Yan could not even identify. Remarkably, despite the cold weather, fresh fish was served. Although just common crucian carp, it was a rarity, especially since the moat had frozen over after the major cold period.

The crucian carp was cooked into a milky white soup, which Princess Consort Liang seemed to enjoy, as there were several fish dishes on the table. However, her servant served her a bowl of the fish soup first.

Mo Yan also liked fish, but since there was a fish pond in Space, she could have it anytime she wanted. Therefore, when Princess Consort Liang invited her to have some fish soup, she declined, claiming not to have a taste for it and had the servant serve her a bowl of silky chicken ginseng soup instead.

As Princess Consort Liang picked up her soup bowl, Mo Yan also raised her bowl of flavorful and nourishing silky chicken ginseng soup. Yet, this time she was destined not to enjoy it, for the moment Princess Consort Liang tasted her fish soup she suddenly vomited.

"What has happened?"

The sound of the overturned soup bowl alerted Xiao Ruiyuan and Chu Heng from behind the screen, and both rose to their feet and walked around to their side. Seeing Princess Consort Liang, pale and leaning on her servant, Chu Heng, furious, sharply questioned the trembling servant.

Princess Consort Liang opened her eyes to Chu Heng, who came to support her, and said, "Your Highness, it’s, it’s just my discomfort, it’s not, not their fault."

Chu Heng, seeing the fish soup spilled all over the floor, suspected something was wrong with it; ignoring Princess Consort Liang’s words, he ordered the guard who had just rushed in, "Summon the Imperial Physician at once."

Xiao Ruiyuan had the same thought as Chu Heng. Approaching Mo Yan, he asked anxiously, "Are you feeling unwell at all?"

Mo Yan, who had been watching Princess Consort Liang in a daze, was momentarily taken aback by Xiao Ruiyuan’s question, and replied, bewildered, "Where would I be unwell?"

At her response, Xiao Ruiyuan immediately breathed a sigh of relief; yet seeing Princess Consort Liang’s weak appearance, he frowned again and began inspecting the fish soup on the table.

Realizing what was happening, Mo Yan was about to say that the problem was not with the fish soup when she saw Chu Heng order the servant attending Princess Consort Liang to be taken away and detained.

Anxious that the Imperial Physician might not arrive in time to prevent the innocent servant from being punished, she quickly said, "Your Highness, may I take the pulse of Her Highness?"

Chu Heng, recalling that Mo Yan had studied medicine, though not sure of her medical expertise, agreed, since taking a pulse could do no harm. He urged urgently, "Please check on Wanqing."

Wanqing was Princess Consort Liang’s maiden name.

With permission granted, Mo Yan immediately stepped forward and took the pulse of Princess Consort Liang, who had already exposed her wrist. As soon as her fingers touched the wrist, Mo Yan detected an unusual pulse.

Chu Heng watched his wife anxiously, seeing sweat bead on her forehead, his worry grew, and he involuntarily glanced at Mo Yan’s face. To his surprise, he saw a touch of joyous smile form on Mo Yan’s face.

Assured that she had not misdiagnosed, Mo Yan withdrew her hand, stood up, and said to Chu Heng, "Congratulations, Your Highness, Her Highness is with a joyous pulse; the little Crown Prince has been conceived for over a month."
