Chapter 1109: Chapter 355: Committing a Crime While Drunk, Little Swindler_2

Xiao Eleven and his entourage had finished giving their respects to Mo Yan and went to another room, leaving only Mo Yan, Xiao Ruiyuan, and Mo Qingze in the main hall. With Mo Yan there, the atmosphere could hardly become dull. After a few rounds of jokes and laughter, the sullenness that Mo Qingze had felt from those two titles dissipated.

There was a charcoal brazier in the room, and after talking for a while, Mo Yan’s throat became dry. She picked up the teapot to pour a cup for her father, and as she was about to fill Xiao Ruiyuan’s cup, she accidentally revealed the white bandage wrapped around her wrist. By the time she realized and wanted to retract her hand, Xiao Ruiyuan had already seen it.

"What happened?" Xiao Ruiyuan grasped Mo Yan’s wrist, fighting the impulse to unwrap the bandage and see for himself, and asked with a still normal-sounding voice.

Mo Yan tugged at her hand but couldn’t pull it away, instinctively pulling down her sleeve in an attempt to cover it. Seeing a small flare of anger in Xiao Ruiyuan’s eyes, she had no choice but to make up an excuse, "I scratched it on some firewood while cooking, bled a little, and I wrapped it up to keep the cold out, it’s not as serious as you think."

Xiao Ruiyuan didn’t say anything after hearing this, and it was unclear whether he believed her or not.

Seeing this, Mo Yan quickly retracted her hand, as she could clearly see that her father was glaring again.

Perhaps it was an illusion, but Mo Yan kept feeling that there were eyes lingering on her wrist from across the room. Sensing that this was not a fun place to be, and seeing that it was getting late, she made the excuse of preparing lunch and hurriedly scurried into the kitchen, leaving the father-in-law and son-in-law in the main hall to exchange glances.

This might sound exaggerated, but even though the relationship between the father-in-law and son-in-law had improved, it couldn’t change the fact that Xiao Ruiyuan was a man of few words. Managing to initiate conversation in front of his father-in-law was already commendable, but the conversation soon ran dry with just a few phrases. Moreover, with frequent visits to Scholar Mansion, each was well aware of the other’s recent state, leaving even less to talk about.

Mo Qingze was also not very talkative, and as a father-in-law, he had to maintain a certain demeanor. Furthermore, once Xiao Ruiyuan arrived, his children seemed to forget about their own father. He was still holding a grudge, which made him even less inclined to speak, hence the awkward atmosphere.

During the meal, they split into three tables. Xiao Eleven and company occupied one table by themselves, while Lixiu and a few others stayed in the kitchen and didn’t come out. At the dining room table, it was just Mo Yan’s family and Xiao Ruiyuan.

In the cold winter, and with guests present, a jar of wine was inevitably placed on the table. The wine, which Mo Yan took out from Space, was a white spirit made of various grains and had been aging in Space for over a hundred years. Once the clay seal was broken, the fragrance of the wine filled the entire room.

This wine had a stronger aftereffect than grape wine, and the abundance of Spiritual Energy within it not only expelled cold and dampness but also caused no harm to the liver. Even if someone got drunk, a good night’s sleep would resolve everything.

Mo Qingze was not one to indulge in alcohol, however, the allure of a hundred-year-old fine wine was irresistible to many, and he didn’t eat much, but three cups of wine later, his consciousness became muddled.

By the end, apart from the sober Mo Yan and the children, even the normally resilient drinker Xiao Ruiyuan became groggy, yet his eyes shone unusually bright, fixated unwaveringly on Mo Yan.

Mo Qingze was escorted back to his room to rest, and Xiao Ruiyuan managed to retain some lucidity. When asked whether he wanted to go rest, he amiably agreed but held on to Mo Yan’s hand without letting go, clearly meaning for Mo Yan to escort him back to the guest room.

Mo Yan had a gut feeling that escorting him back to his room would lead to no good, so she found an excuse to refuse. Just as she was about to call Xiao Eleven to send his master back to the room, the slightly unsteady Xiao Ruiyuan suddenly grabbed her uninjured right hand and strode toward the guest room, not resembling a drunk person at all.

Mo Yan: "..."

Yet, Xiao Ruiyuan was indeed truly drunk. As soon as the room door was closed, he pinned Mo Yan against it and straightaway reached out to tear at her clothes, something he had never done before.

Mo Yan panicked and instinctively pushed him away. But although she hardly exerted any force, he staggered backwards, nearly falling to the ground.

As Xiao Ruiyuan steadied himself, he lunged at Mo Yan again. This time, he pinned her hands with one of his while the other hand resumed tearing at her clothes, with surprising strength, reddening her neck at the collar.

Mo Yan too became angry, forcefully pulled back her hands, and once again pushed Xiao Ruiyuan away, maintaining a safe distance, "If you keep tearing at my clothes, I won’t pay you any attention anymore."
