Chapter 311: Two Battles! Ultimate Technique!

The group moves on, Naruto and Sasuke looking more determined than ever. Only Kakashi and Sakura look like they are not excited for what’s about to happen.

Looks like Kakashi realizes that the next fight won’t just be against two puny rogue Chūnin.

Pressing on, it takes them many hours to finally reach the coast.

Tazuna, rubbing his feet, looks around and after a few minutes finally finds an acquaintance on a nearby dock—one of his many coworkers building the bridge together with him.

He approaches him and begins to explain his situation. Alex stares at them from a distance but sees Tazuna quickly return with a grin. Twenty minutes later, Tazuna’s coworker, along with another man, arrives—each commandeering a small rowboat.

Alex, Menchi, and Tazuna enter one boat, while Team 7 enters another.

Much like when they arrived on this side of the ocean, they now make their way back across. The unfinished bridge looms in the background, majestic as ever, seemingly shocking Naruto with its sheer size.

Naruto is constantly screaming and pointing at it until Sakura smacks him on the head, “Be silent!”

“Thank you, Sakura,” Kakashi comments, pleased with her quick action.

As they arrive, Tazuna sighs in relief. “Nearly there. I think we’re fine for today. This area should be safe enough”

Are you sure about that?

Alex bites his lip, his reflex urging him to reveal what he knows about the mission—but the image of a certain wrestler magically appearing in his thoughts pulls him back to reality.

They quickly say their goodbyes to Tazuna’s acquaintances and head toward Tazuna’s house, readying themselves for another walk.

Jewel… be ready to use it… I’ll wrap the bag around your body now. However, be careful with it. I trust you. Also, you leave my head now, okay? You are our scout!

Alex takes out a small bag and gently places it around Jewel, securing it so it won’t fall off.

Queen Jewel will not disappoint Soulmate and shall succeed in the ultimate strategy! However, Queen Jewel will demand compensation for being forced to leave her Soulmate’s head, which is her rightful place.

I fear that we might get ambushed by not only Zabuza but maybe someone else as well. In any case, we’ll join the battle—even if it’s just to support Team 7.

Shortly after, as the group walks toward Tazuna’s home, Naruto looks around suspiciously and throws a kunai into a nearby bush.

“Hmmm, just a mouse!” Naruto says, acting all cool for once.

Alex walks toward the bush and quickly picks up a [Kunai], smiling.

I am the type that picks up every coin and bottle he stumbles across… as long as it’s not covered in some kind of dirt. Fuck you rich guys—I like money!

“Quit trying to show off!” Sakura screams angrily.

“Naruto, don’t use your kunai this recklessly, please!” Kakashi chimes in, looking embarrassed.

“BRAT, DON’T DO RECKLESS THINGS!” Tazuna yells.

Naruto, however, ignores them and throws another kunai, seemingly detecting something again.

Alex, grinning, rushes toward the location Naruto aimed at and picks up another [Kunai].

The others arrive and see that Naruto nearly hit a white snow bunny, which now looks surprised and terrified.

So it’s time…

Alex stares meaningfully at Menchi, his joy over the two kunai already gone. She nods back, understanding what Alex is trying to convey.

As they move on, Alex activates En, deciding not to let himself be recklessly ambushed.

If he throws the fucking sword, I’ll steal it—even if it pisses him off, hehe!

Suddenly, Alex senses Zabuza jumping to a nearby tree. A few seconds later, Zabuza throws his massive blade toward the group. The weapon spins like a boomerang—heavy, vicious, and definitely sharp enough to cleave a human in two even when thrown.

Alex immediately reacts. While the others jump down, narrowly avoiding it, he sharpens his senses. Thanks to En, he’s aware of the exact rotation. He ducks under the blade and reaches for the handle, barely managing to grasp it. But due to the sheer weight and size of the blade, and some mysterious force pressing into his hands, it slips from his grasp.

SHIT, I NEED TO GRAB IT!

For a brief flicker, Alex sees the system recognizing the [Decapitating Carving Knife]—but the information vanishes just as quickly.

Ignoring everything else, he rushes forward, desperately trying to pick it up.

Before he can reach it, numerous water bullets fly toward him, forcing him to dive into a roll.

Zabuza appears a second later and calmly picks up the sword.

“Don’t touch my sword with your dirty hands, you pathetic mercenary,” he says coldly.

“Don’t throw it away then, you ugly motherfucker! I’ll rip it off your dead body instead!” Alex shouts, enraged.

Kakashi quickly steps in front of Alex, lifting an arm to hold him back.

“Stay back there, my friend. I know you’re strong, but this man is the infamous Zabuza Momochi,” Kakashi says in a calm, almost friendly voice.

“I see... You must be Kakashi—the Copy Ninja. You’re in my bingo book,” Zabuza replies darkly. “I’ll deal with you first. Then the old man… and after that, the rest.”

“Stop it, Zabuza!” a loud voice suddenly screams from the distance.

A man slowly walks toward the group from the exact opposite direction. He wears a set of expensive-looking leather armor, entirely dyed black. It looks menacing and vicious. His hair is hidden beneath a leather helmet—only his eyes are visible. He’s easily two heads taller than Alex, dwarfing everyone else present.

“Zabuza, remember our deal! I get to deal with these two!” he shouts, pointing a giant axe at Alex and Menchi. “My boss is watching… I’ve got to show him a thrilling performance. Blood, gore, horror, pain, torture! Are you watching, boss Gojak?! I’ll show you—and your arrogant sister—what happens to anyone who offends us! Alex Kerber! My name is Michael Desmond—remember it well, because that’s the name of the person who will take your life! Do you dare to accept my challenge?!” he screams, wildly swinging his axe around.

Is this guy acting? Is he deceiving us? At this rate, this will end up as a comedic performance or outright satire.

“I accept,” Alex replies.

He hasn’t seen Jewel yet, but he surely knows about her… does he?! Anyway, as long as Jewel is moving independently, we’ll be fine.

Is there a trap lying in wait for us nearby? JEWEL, can you hear me?

Soulmate! Queen Jewel is close by. She sees no more enemies around. She also detects no traps in the vicinity.

Good!

“Disappear already! You’re annoying me,” Zabuza mutters with an icy glare.

Michael doesn’t get angry. He simply smiles. “Calm down and deal with them! I told you a few things about their strategy—so don’t fuck it up!”

“Hehe, follow me. This will be fun!” he says, walking in the same direction he came from, heading toward an open field.

“I… what?!” Alex mutters as he and Menchi follow. “I feel silly. Is this reality? This feels like a stupid show... is this guy for real?”

“Just accept it. This could be to our advantage.” Menchi responds with a grin.

Alex follows him for about a minute before they arrive at a wide field with few trees. Only a single large tree stands prominently in the center.

Michael stops in front of the tree and turns around, revealing a massive grin.

“This scene will suffice for our battle! Any last words? I might humble you!” he says in an arrogant tone.

“Are you a retard?! I don’t get why you’re this confident! Either you’re one hell of an actor and I’ll die to some trap not even realizing what killed me, or you’re the biggest moron I’ve ever seen. Could it be Glimmerwhisk’s retarded brother hired someone equally retarded to do this job? Surely not...” Alex replies, his face torn between disbelief and mockery.

Michael suddenly screams, his face flushing red.

“YOU WILL REGRET THOSE WORDS! I DOMINATED MY TUTORIAL REALM! I AM MICHAEL DESMOND THE SAVAGE! I HAVE KILLED NINE PLAYERS IN TOTAL—WHO DO YOU THINK I AM?!”

I actually killed way more... no way... is this guy...

“Now look at my mighty form and despair!” he bellows as his body begins to transform into a large human-wolf hybrid. He grows even taller, his body mutating into that of a towering wolf-man. His dark leather armor somehow remains intact, making him look more fearsome—but also strangely ridiculous.

“That’s Jabra’s fruit… it’s rather... mediocre. Not bad, but also not that impressive,” Alex comments, visibly confused.

“Heheheheheheeh you will regret these words. I will torme—” Michael begins, but his words are abruptly cut off as his entire body, including his mouth, is covered in sticky web.

Jewel leaps down from the tree, activating Thornback Web Shoot lvl 5, fully enhanced by her Aura and amplified through her Hatsu: Limitless Legacy lvl 5.

No way… Gyo!

Alex narrows his eyes, seeing Jewel quickly climbing onto Michael’s massive transformed body. She wraps him in even more web, and from time to time, dark round objects—barely visible even with Gyo—are embedded into the sticky mess. Each one carries a lit purple-burning fuse.

With more than ten of these objects stuck into the web and Michael now completely bound and struggling on the ground, Jewel casually walks back toward Alex, climbs onto his head, and rubs her cool body against him.

BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM

NO WAY!!!

“…”

“…”

Jewel has killed Michael Desmond.

“No way?!” Alex screams.

“That’s it?!” Menchi yells, clearly disappointed.

“Jewel, you stole all the fun!” she complains, though smiling as she gently rubs Jewel’s head.

Queen Jewel has been initiated into the most hidden secrets of the universe. This unbeatable, sacred, divine technique grants her ultimate might. No enemy can stand against her. Ever! Queen Jewel is unbeatable!

Sweat runs down Alex’s forehead. “Jewel… when I called it a divine technique… I was joking. This is just an even cheaper and more vicious version of my usual sneak attacks with grenades. It should not be this powerful! This guy must have been a total retard…!”

“BULLSHIT! I CALL BULLSHIT! THIS DOES NOT COUNT! FATHER SHE CHEATED! SHE IS A DIRTY CHEAT!! I HATE YOU!!!! NOOO!!! I DON’T ACCEPT THIS! Noo… Nooooo… Sniff… Sniff… Please, this doesn’t count… pleeeeeaaasssseeeeee.”

A loud, booming voice echoes through the air, shifting from anger to sadness to straight-up sobbing.

Suddenly, several large, almost god-like figures appear in the sky.

What the?!

“What is this?!” Menchi yells, equally stunned.
