Chapter 344: [(344)] The teacher was scared out of their wits Chapter 344: [(344)] The teacher was scared out of their wits “Senior brother, this–”
“Yingying, don’t worry about us, you go out.” Zhao Zhaowei and Li Qi’an said to her.
“You two be careful,” Xie Wanying cautioned her classmates, “We’ll officially start long-distance running tomorrow, take it slow, and don’t start off too fast.”
As soon as her words hit the air, a wave of laughter erupted from outside.
Lin Hao looked up at the ceiling and rolled his eyes, thinking that these two guys had really made their whole class of boys lose face.
Zhao Zhaowei and Li Qi’an wished they could dig a hole and crawl into it.
“Student Xiao Xie.”
Teacher Sun called from outside, and Xie Wanying had no choice but to step out.
“How is your classmate doing?” Sun Yubo asked as she approached him.
“He seems a bit exhausted,” Xie Wanying answered honestly.
The laughter around them was relentless and just wouldn’t stop.
The boys were drained, while the girls could perform surgery and be totally fine afterward, as if nothing had happened, cool as a cucumber.
The teachers from General Surgery Department Two were almost out of breath with irritation. Just then, they received a call from the medical education department, and so the teachers understood immediately whom they needed to lecture.
Since the teachers didn’t want her to worry too much about her classmates, Xie Wanying went back to the ward upstairs to care for the patients.
The next morning at breakfast, she didn’t run into Zhao Zhaowei or Li Qi’an again, but later she heard from other classmates that these two had vomited after their morning run and were lying in the dormitory now. Instructor Ren Chongda went to take care of the two boys in the male dormitory, glaring as he tended to them.
“Isn’t this exactly what they deserve? We’ve been telling those two to lose weight and gain weight respectively. They just ignored our advice like it was nothing but wind past their ears,” Lin Hao angrily said as he walked down the corridor of the General Surgery Department Two with the class leader, Yue Wentong.
Yue Wentong’s expression was indifferent as if nothing could affect his thoughts. Only when he saw the figure of Xie Wanying passing by did a flicker of light flash in his placid gaze.
In a blink of an eye, it was Friday afternoon at five o’clock, and the doctors and medical students gathered in the department’s conference room, ready for the weekly regular case discussion meeting.
Discussions on complex and fatal cases are very important for the technical growth of a department. The department will set aside a fixed time for all doctors to exchange problems about these patients, brainstorm, and broaden their perspectives, which is good for improving their skills and preventing such incidents from happening again.
Friday afternoons, being close to the weekend, are relatively relaxed, and almost every department set their discussion time then. This way, everyone could relax over the weekend after the discussion, regroup, and be ready to start the next week. General Surgery Department Two was no exception.
Such meetings sometimes last for hours, and inevitably mean working overtime.
Xie Wanying brought a chair into the conference room herself since there clearly weren’t enough chairs for everyone to sit.
Just as she sat down, Teacher Sun in front of her asked, “Did the nurse sister find that chair for you?”
Xie Wanying nodded honestly.
“You are really–” Sun Yubo was so envious he felt like he’d turn green with jealousy; he never got such treatment from the nurses when he was an intern.
Meanwhile, Liu Chengran took out his phone and asked them, “What do you want to eat tonight? If we get out too late, Teacher Tan said he would treat us to dinner.”
The leader treating for dinner–Sun Yubo said, “I want to eat–”
“Exotic delicacies from land and sea,” Xie Wanying piped in.
This quip caught Tan Kelin off guard, making him turn his head around immediately: What?
“Teacher Tan’s going to be scared out of his wits by you,” the group laughed loudly.
Was her joke not okay? Xie Wanying’s pen scratched at her forehead.
Everyone was in place, and Shen Jinghui walked in last, sitting at the very front at the head of the long table.
