Fallen General's Omega (BL)
Chapter 117: Nostalgia

Chapter 117: Nostalgia

"So I’ll find you at the border, and we’ll start off as planned," I tell Roman, who stands nearby, his expression serious. It’s early morning, the sun barely rising, and only three hours ago, Noelle expressed his desire to leave immediately. Now, here we are in the stables, preparing to embark on our journey. Noelle insists on riding horseback; he claims a carriage is too slow. I can’t help but smile at his determination. Anything for my beloved.

"Understood," Roman replies, nodding. His loyalty has always been unwavering, and I trust him to keep our plans intact.

I mount the horse behind Noelle, wrapping my arms around his waist. The warmth of his body against mine is comforting, even as the cool night air bites at our skin. I tighten my grip on the reins, feeling the powerful animal beneath us shift with impatience.

With a gentle nudge, I spur the horse forward, and it breaks into a gallop, galloping into the quiet darkness. The world around us blurs as we ride, the sounds of the stables fading away behind us. I feel exhilarated, a rush of adrenaline coursing through me.

After a long day of riding, we finally arrive at the town, which is bustling with activity. I can’t help but remark, "They are a little too lively for a town where the lord was killed." I suppress a smirk, knowing I’m the one responsible for that death—both the lord and his son, victims of their own cruelty toward Mona and Ben. Their end wasn’t merciful; I made sure of that.

As we trudge to the outskirts, we find our hill, overgrown with towering trees that loom above us like guardians. The house is nearly invisible beneath the dense foliage. "I didn’t want just anyone stumbling upon this place," Noelle says as we dismount.

I chuckle at his concern, the intimidating sight of the dense trees mirroring his apprehension. We begin our ascent, pushing through the underbrush, and eventually reach our destination. When I catch sight of the stone little house, warmth spreads through my chest.

"Doesn’t this take me back?" I say, nostalgia washing over me.

"It’s only been a few months, Thorne," my beloved star replies, a hint of amusement in his voice.

"That doesn’t make the longing any less," I insist, heading over to the small shed I built to tie up the horse. I can feel the familiar sense of belonging enveloping me as I settle him in, ensuring he has enough food and water, along with hay, grass, and some fruit.

Once I’m finished, I step inside to find Noelle by the small kitchen, cooking something that fills the air with an enticing aroma. I’m struck by the sight; it feels as if I’ve traveled back in time, to a simpler, happier era, aside from the expensive material of clothing Noelle wears now, a stark contrast to the cheap cotton we once had.

"Great, you’re here. Grab a broom and dust," he instructs without looking up from his task. "I’ve already taken care of the bedroom."

I can’t help but smile at his domesticity, the routine filling my heart with warmth. I do as I’m told, grabbing the broom and beginning to sweep the floor. Each sweep brings back memories of our past life together, and I realize how much I’ve missed these mundane moments. Working side by side with Noelle, even in silence, feels like a gift—a glimpse of the life we’ve fought so hard to reclaim.

As I dust the corners, I glance over at Noelle, who’s focused intently on his cooking. There’s something beautiful about seeing him in this setting, his presence infusing the space with life and warmth. I can’t help but feel a surge of gratitude for this opportunity to rebuild our life together, one small moment at a time.

As Thorne settled into a warm bath, the steam rising in gentle wisps around him, Noelle stood by the window, a sense of anticipation coursing through him. In his right hand, he clutched the purple piece of paper adorned with an intricate symbol, a mysterious gift from the woman with the violet eyes. Outside, the moon hung high in the sky, its silvery light casting a tranquil glow across the room.

Noelle took a deep breath, steeling himself for what was to come. He moved across the room, lit a candle, and prepared to perform the ritual the woman had suggested. With a steady hand, he held the paper beneath the flickering flame, watching as it ignited. The fire quickly spread, devouring the edges and transforming the once-pristine paper into glowing embers that danced momentarily in the air before falling to ash.

As he gazed at the remnants, a sense of calm washed over him, but weariness crept in as well. The day had been long, filled with a mix of anxiety and anticipation. He turned away from the window, extinguishing the candle with a gentle puff, and padded over to the bed.

The moment Noelle’s head hit the pillow, he was enveloped in a comforting embrace of sleep. His body sank into the soft mattress, and the exhaustion that had been building throughout the day melted away. In an instant, he was lulled into Dreamland.

After my bath, a surge of restlessness washed over me. I consider finding a way to expend some energy, perhaps stirring up a little bed action to shake off the day’s fatigue. But as I stepped back into the room, my gaze fell on Noelle, who lies peacefully asleep in bed. The soft sound of his little snores filled the quiet space, a gentle rhythm that made me smile.

He looks so cute, with his hair tousled and his face relaxed in slumber. I can’t help but feel a pang of affection. I know he must be tired, but I am tired too, after the long day. Guess let’s save the action for tomorrow.

I slide into bed beside him, careful not to disturb his rest. As I pull him closer, he instinctively nuzzles against my chest, fitting perfectly against me. I savor the moment, inhaling the faint scent of him, feeling the warmth radiate from his body.

The rhythmic sound of his breathing becomes a soothing lullaby, coaxing me into a state of tranquility. Soon, the day’s worries began to fade, and the world around us blurred into the background. I close my eyes, allowing myself to be enveloped in the comfort of his presence.
