Exotic Battlefield: I Can Activate Dual Talents -

Chapter 47: 45, Admission Notice (Request for Monthly Tickets and Recommendations)
This is impossible! Song Qianjun roared internally. Secretary Hou reached Third Level Perfection in just half a month! Normally, a Star Core Warrior would need at least half a year of stabilization to overcome this hurdle. They also need to learn cultivation knowledge at the Star Body level. Only after ensuring absolute safety and reliability would they even begin the advancement process. Furthermore, advancing to Level 4 is a significant challenge for Star Core Warriors. If the advancement fails, the consequences are unimaginable. Unexpectedly, Secretary Hou achieved this advancement simply by conducting a test on Lu Lin, ostensibly at my ’suggestion.’ This is utterly preposterous! I’ve guarded the Exotic Town for decades and have seen all kinds of geniuses, demon beasts, and alien races. If I hadn’t witnessed Secretary Hou’s fingers actually beginning to coalesce with Star Power, how could I possibly believe it?
...
"Huh? Where is everyone?"
When Lu Lin exited the Consciousness Universe, he found the room empty and wondered where Secretary Hou had gone. Moments ago, Secretary Hou had comprehended a Double Star Skill, which had also provided another 10 percent refinement to Lu Lin’s Earth-Type Star Vessel. Now, his Earth-Type Star Vessel’s refinement level had broken through the 50 percent mark, reaching 58 percent.
Lu Lin had been ready to express his gratitude to Secretary Hou, but he found no trace of him in the Cultivation Room.
He must have gone to report to the City Lord, Lu Lin mused.
As Lu Lin walked out of the Cultivation Room, he saw Zuo Yiming and Cao Xiaoming standing outside the door, looking at him with peculiar expressions.
"What’s wrong? Is there something on my face?" Lu Lin subconsciously touched his cheek.
Suddenly, Zuo Yiming lunged at Lu Lin, throwing his arms around him in a tight embrace.
"Lu Lin, Mr. Lu, Master Lu, from now on, I am your exclusive healer! I’m counting on you for the Star Skill!"
Seeing Zuo Yiming make the first move, Cao Xiaoming felt a twinge of envy. He also approached and said, "Mr. Lu, Master Lu, I will be your exclusive gardener from now on! I’m counting on you for the Star Skill too! Um, if you need it, I... I can summon Moria to chat with you."
Cao Xiaoming looked at Zuo Yiming proudly. So what if you can heal? You have healing, but I have an elf!
Zuo Yiming glared back angrily.
Lu Lin pushed them both away and finally understood what had transpired. He knew Secretary Hou had gained a Double Star Skill, but he hadn’t expected him to leverage it to break through the Third Level and directly advance to become a Level 4 Star-Core Fighter.
It was well known that in the Human Federation’s thousand years of exploration and cultivation, Martial Artists from Level 1 to 3 were numerous, while those from Level 7 to 9 were scarce. The true pillars of human strength were the countless Martial Artists from Level 4 to 6. Advancement to Level 4 signified a significant leap in social status and, naturally, an even greater increase in personal strength.
Regardless of whether Lu Lin’s actions were due to coincidence or his true abilities, one could predict the outcome. When the news spread, he would become a god in the eyes of countless Star Core Warriors stuck at Level 3, unable to progress.
"Alright, alright, it was just a coincidence," Lu Lin said. "Perhaps Secretary Hou had been accumulating power for a long time and finally broke through. By the way, where are Teacher Jiang and the others?"
"Master Jiang and my father were both invited by the City Lord to attend a meeting," Zuo Yiming replied. "It seemed they were discussing the Guiding Star Skills for the Senior Year Awakened Graduates in Tongyuan City."
"Master Lu, let’s go! Little Zuo will treat you to a meal," Zuo Yiming said with a fawning expression.
"What time is it? It’s hardly time for a meal. Wouldn’t it be better to use this time to cultivate properly?"
As Lu Lin was speaking, a notification chimed from his personal terminal. Displayed on it was an:
**Admission Notice**
"Dear Lu Lin, congratulations on being admitted to our esteemed institution. Please report to our academy by July 1st of Year XX. An exciting university life awaits you!
Sincerely,
Alien Star Ruster Union Academy, Human Federation
June 6th, Year XX"
It turned out the admission letter had arrived. Lu Lin hadn’t expected Luse Academy’s efficiency to be so high; he had applied only the day before yesterday, and the letter arrived today.
Truly the academy I chose, Lu Lin thought with satisfaction.
"What are you looking at so intently?" Zuo Yiming asked.
"The admission letter arrived! I’ll be going to university soon!" Expectation shone in Lu Lin’s eyes. All along, he had believed he would be entering Iron Blood College. For him, Luse Academy’s admission letter was merely a stepping stone.
I have to step up my cultivation! Lu Lin encouraged himself.
Zuo Yiming was amazed. "The letter is already here? That was fast! Which academy did Master Lu apply for?"
Cao Xiaoming also asked curiously. In his mind, a talent like Lu Lin was surely deserving of one of the Top 10 Federation academies.
"Challenge College," Zuo Yiming blurted out, answering for Lu Lin.
"What? Chal...lenge...Col...lege?" Cao Xiaoming’s voice rose in disbelief.
"What Challenge College?" Jiang Yueming, who happened to overhear Cao Xiaoming, asked curiously. "Xiaoming, don’t tell me you applied to Challenge College."
"It wasn’t me, it was Mr. Lu," Cao Xiaoming said, pointing at Lu Lin, his eyes still wide. He genuinely couldn’t accept this fact.
"Lu Lin?" Jiang Yueming suddenly became serious. "Why?!"
It wasn’t that his disciple couldn’t apply to Challenge College. But considering Lu Lin’s talent and strength, he should have been able to get into at least two or three of the Top 10 Federation academies.
"Teacher, I want to go to Iron Blood College," Lu Lin stated.
"Iron Blood College!" This time, it was Jiang Yueming and Cao Xiaoming who were shocked in unison. Although they had somewhat guessed Lu Lin’s intention, they still found it hard to accept.
Iron Blood College had always recruited exceptionally talented students, yet it offered them minimal direct guidance. Only in their first year, after enrolling, were students given some time to adjust. They would learn fundamental knowledge about the Exotic Battlefield, cultivate their Star Veins in the safety of a classroom, and improve their refinement levels. Once the first year concluded, the remaining three years of their university life were predominantly spent on the Exotic Battlefield.
The Exotic Battlefield! Other academies typically only allowed students to enter the battlefield once they reached Level 3, or at the very least, Second Level Perfection. Even then, their activities were restricted to the vicinity of the eight existing human cities.
But the madmen at Iron Blood College were different. In their second year, regardless of their strength, students were required to enter the Exotic Battlefield. Their time for rest and recuperation on Alien Stars was not to exceed five days per month.
Slaying a Level 1 Star Beast was the requirement to pass their first-year examination.
Slaying a Level 2 Star Beast was considered completing their graduation thesis.
Slaying a Level 3 Star Beast qualified them to stay at the academy as a teaching assistant. Even if they chose not to remain, they would be highly sought after by various companies.
Slaying a Level 4 Star Beast meant they could directly become a Practice Instructor.
What an incredibly ’reasonable’ rule that was. To slay a Level 4 Star Beast, one’s own strength not only had to reach Level 4, but they also needed to be among the more powerful individuals at that level. With such power, who would even remain a student there?
Yet, the students of Iron Blood University were willing. Large numbers of ’students’ who had reached Level 3, Level 4, or even Level 5 roamed the Exotic Battlefield in teams, bringing back invaluable resources for cultivation, infrastructure, and research.
Three hundred years ago, in an effort to retain as many students as possible, Iron Blood College had even established three-year master’s programs, five-year doctoral programs, and post-doctoral programs with no fixed duration. In other words, if one was willing, they could continue cultivating at Iron Blood College indefinitely, even until they achieved the rank of Titled King.
To Jiang Yueming, this seemed like a thoroughly ’unconventional’ academy.
Why would my perfectly good disciple want to attend such an academy? Wouldn’t it be better for him to dedicate himself to maintaining and optimizing the Star Power Domain, guiding more numerous and powerful Star Skills for humanity?
