Lin Banxia noticed the water droplets seeping out from the bottle in his hand and softly voiced her concern, "It’s so late, you shouldn’t be drinking something cold like this—it’s bad for your stomach."

Huo Yanting’s eyes froze for a moment upon hearing her remark. Then, without hesitation, he tossed the bottle into a nearby trash bin.

Lin Banxia was stunned. She had only advised him not to drink something too cold—why did he take it so seriously and throw it away?

"Judging by your expression, it seems like the flavor’s good. Did you make a portion for me as well?" Huo Yanting wasn’t usually fond of late-night snacks, but at this moment, he couldn’t suppress the urge to give it a try.

Lin Banxia nodded lightly, "I made enough for two—I’ll get you a bowl and chopsticks."

Lin Banxia, her face slightly flushed, brought out the freshly washed bowl and chopsticks, and personally served him half a bowl of noodles.

"Try it first. Since I didn’t use many seasonings, the taste might not be great." While Lin Banxia was confident in her cooking, she couldn’t help but feel apprehensive. After all, Huo Yanting had grown up dining on gourmet delicacies—maybe he wouldn’t be used to such plain noodles.

Huo Yanting picked up a strand of noodles with his chopsticks, placed it between his lips, and tasted it. Then, he commented blandly, "Edible."

Lin Banxia’s lips curled up slightly in a smile. To receive such words from him was, in its way, an acknowledgment of her cooking skills.

The two of them sat at the table, quietly eating their noodles, neither saying a word.

Only after they finished the noodles did Lin Banxia start tidying up the dishes. Huo Yanting suddenly asked her, "This cooking skill of yours—was it taught by your grandmother?"

Lin Banxia paused in her action, stiffened for a moment, and turned to glance at him. Her eyes carried a hint of moisture: "My grandmother taught me many things."

Huo Yanting lazily walked up behind her and, unexpectedly, reached out to wrap his arms around her waist.

Lin Banxia’s entire body tensed up, her face flushing hot. "Don’t be so hasty—let me finish washing the dishes first..."

Huo Yanting merely gave her a gentle hug before releasing her, then said calmly, "When you’re done with the dishes, come to my study. I need you to sign an agreement."

Only then did Lin Banxia remember what he had said in the car when they’d gotten off the yacht—that he wanted to sign an agreement with her.

"Alright, I’ll come find you in a bit!" An inexplicable heaviness settled in her chest. She didn’t know what the agreement entailed, but she had a feeling it wouldn’t be much different from a contract of servitude.

After finishing the dishes and drying her hands, Lin Banxia noticed a light on in a room upstairs. She walked over and knocked on the door.

"Come in!" His deep, magnetic voice echoed from inside.

Granted permission, she pushed the door open and entered.

The man was reclining against his chair, posture relaxed. Yet, whether it was due to his aura as someone used to holding a position of power, he seemed to exude a subtle, intangible barrier that made approaching him feel daunting.

"Here’s the agreement. Take a look first—and if you have no objections, sign it." Huo Yanting pressed a sheet of paper beneath two slender fingers and slid it across to her, signaling her to read.

Lin Banxia tried her best to clear her head. Even though moments ago, Huo Yanting had given her a sense of warmth, right now she felt as if she were bargaining with the Devil himself.

She took the contract, held it up to her eyes, and froze in shock.

Marriage? Having children?

Lin Banxia couldn’t comprehend it—her beautiful eyes widened in sheer disbelief.

"Mr. Huo, did you make a mistake? I only agreed to cohabitation—I didn’t agree to marriage and having children!" Lin Banxia was completely at a loss for words, utterly dumbfounded.
