Stop jumping to thoughts of death—you’re a married woman now. If something happens, your husband will shoulder it for you."

The word "husband" made Lin Banxia tremble slightly. Her tear-streaked face lifted just a bit, meeting the depth of the man’s impenetrable gaze.

His chiseled, striking face carried fierce lines but exuded refinement, and Lin Banxia felt as if her soul was being drawn into his eyes.

Lin Banxia continued to stare blankly into his eyes, but as his words registered, her thoughts clicked back into place. Realizing how foolish she must’ve looked just now, her face quickly turned crimson with embarrassment.
