Cheng Rouyin pointed at her face and continued berating her: "You want your mother’s box back? Fine, but only if you promise to stay far away from Mr. Huo. Get as far away as you can. Otherwise, don’t even dream of getting that box back."

Lin Banxia was livid upon hearing these words; she felt an overwhelming urge to slap her.

Cheng Rouyin, however, crossed her arms in front of her chest, her expression indifferent: "If you don’t agree to my terms, I’m not giving it back."

"If you won’t give it back, I’ll go find my dad. In this household, he’s still the one in charge." Lin Banxia finished speaking and turned to leave without looking back.

Cheng Rouyin, as expected, was immediately threatened by her words. She rushed forward, grabbed Lin Banxia’s arm, and yanked her violently backward: "Lin Banxia, you dare to use your dad to threaten me? Let me tell you something—your dad won’t do anything to me, even if he finds out about this!"

"Is that so? Well then, why don’t we test that theory?" Lin Banxia threw off her hand angrily.

Upon hearing Lin Banxia’s determination, Cheng Rouyin abruptly changed her approach: "Bring me one million, and I’ll return the box to you."

Lin Banxia froze on the spot, her expression stiffened. She was furious and sneered, "One million? You might as well just try robbing someone."

Lin Banxia was so angry she felt like crying; her eyes were brimming with red-rimmed frustration. Deep down, she knew that if Cheng Rouyin truly burned the box her mother left behind, her father wouldn’t step forward to defend her either.

"Fine, I’ll get you the money. But if you dare burn the box, I won’t let you off easily!" Lin Banxia clenched her small fists, unwilling to yield yet forced to turn and leave.

Sitting in the car, Lin Banxia couldn’t stop the flood of tears from streaming down her face.

She cried for a long time before finally drying her tears and heading to the pear garden.

As soon as she arrived at the pear garden, she saw Aunt Lan running toward her with a panicked expression. Grabbing Lin Banxia’s hand, she said anxiously, "Young Miss, you’ve finally come! "Alright, Young Miss, I trust you’ll find a way to save this garden." Aunt Lan said through her tears.

With a sigh, Lin Banxia then stepped into the pear garden and entered the bedroom where her grandparents once lived. From beneath one of the stone slabs, she retrieved the pear garden’s property deed.

Looking at the property deed, Lin Banxia felt her heart ache deeply.
