Chapter 104: Chapter 104: Counterattacking the White Lotus
Lin Banxia nodded helplessly. "I want to eat. Steam a fish, stir-fry an egg dish, and add some seasonal greens. That’ll do."
"Does the young mistress need some soup? The young master instructed us to prepare food to help you recover."
"Alright, you decide. I really can’t think of anything," Lin Banxia laughed lightly.
The lavish dinner left Lin Banxia feeling a bit stuffed. It wasn’t that she had overeaten on purpose—it was just too delicious.
After sleeping enough and eating her fill, Lin Banxia suddenly found herself at a loss for what to do.
She stood alone on the balcony of the second floor, looking up to see the sky covered with dark clouds. It seemed like it was going to rain tonight.
The night was dark, the wind high—perfect for doing something wicked. A mocking and cold smile flickered across Lin Banxia’s stunning eyes.
Since stepping off the cruise ship, she hadn’t had a moment of spare time. Now, all the matters had been settled, and she finally had some breathing room to properly "chat" with her cousin.
Lin Banxia took out her phone and played the recording she had made on the cruise ship.
In order to prove his innocence with Lu Huan Ning, Huo Qinglin had completely disparaged Lu Huan Ning—claiming she threw herself at him and wasn’t even worth taking.
If this recording were sent to Lu Huan Ning, she would probably feel as if her world had collapsed, wouldn’t she?
Lin Banxia composed a text message, then sent it off without hesitation.
Now, all she had to do was quietly wait for Lu Huan Ning’s call.
Sure enough, within minutes, Lu Huan Ning called her.
"Lin Banxia, what the hell is this supposed to mean?" Lu Huan Ning’s voice was sharp, filled with humiliation.
Lin Banxia’s tone was icy cold. "If your ears aren’t deaf, then it means exactly what you heard. So, tell me—when did you and Huo Qinglin start up?"
On the other end of the line, Lu Huan Ning went silent, although her breath was heavy—hurried, furious. It felt as if she wanted nothing more than to leap over and strangle Lin Banxia.
"When did you figure out that I was involved with him?" Lu Huan Ning’s question wasn’t an admission of guilt—it was her way of telling Lin Banxia that Huo Qinglin’s claims of innocence were absolute lies.
Lin Banxia, of course, knew Huo Qinglin was lying. He and Lu Huan Ning were probably entangled long before that.
"If you don’t want people to know, don’t do it in the first place. Did you think you could conceal everything perfectly, that no one would ever uncover it? Utterly laughable." Lin Banxia was furious, but she also felt deeply saddened.
Her own cousin—secretly stealing her boyfriend, acting flawlessly, like everything was normal. Such calculation and deceit—truly terrifying.
Realizing the truth couldn’t be hidden any longer, Lu Huan Ning didn’t bother with excuses. It was better to just admit things openly. "It was obvious we couldn’t keep this hidden forever. Actually, Qinglin and I already planned to tell you at the right time. Now that you’ve found out, there’s nothing else to say. You’re not worthy of him; he doesn’t love you, and you wouldn’t work out in the end anyway."
"Shameless! Truly, there’s no rival for someone as audacious as you. Is this your way of demanding I step aside and let you two be together? Lu Huan Ning, you’re too much—you’ve pushed me too far. Don’t think for a second that this will end well for you." Lin Banxia gritted her teeth angrily, the hurt from her previous life—of losing her husband to Lu Huan Ning—washing over her fresh once again.
Lu Huan Ning felt a pang of guilt but stiffened her tone, trying to justify herself. "Qinglin and I genuinely love each other. You’re the one intruding between us. Lin Banxia, when you broke your leg and ended up hospitalized last time, didn’t you already know? You were faking everything in front of me, even causing me to cut my own finger. You’re the one with a venomous heart."
Lin Banxia hadn’t expected that the woman who harmed her would dare bite back, blatantly accusing her of cruelty.
