Ex-Husband CEO, Stop Messing Around!
Chapter 67: Are You Afraid of Me?

Chapter 67: Chapter 67: Are You Afraid of Me?

"Then what about my car?"

Wen Nuan was quite perplexed by his actions.

How could this be? Changing the tire halfway and then just leaving it. Besides, she needed to drive to work tomorrow; what’s the point of leaving it here?

"Pick up a car from the garage tomorrow morning, I’ll have someone take care of this one."

Leng Yan squinted his eyes, glanced at her, seemingly with some resentment and anger in his eyes, but he didn’t burst out. He merely cooled his gaze, didn’t speak, and simply started the car.

On the way, he focused on driving, saying nothing. Wen Nuan wanted to speak up, but after thinking for a bit, she decided not to say anything.

Despite being married for so long, it was the first time she’d ridden in his car. It was much more comfortable than the one she bought herself, but sitting inside felt like sitting on pins and needles.

"I didn’t eat tonight, I’m hungry." Returning to the villa, Wen Nuan uneasily lowered her head and went upstairs, but Leng Yan suddenly spoke from behind.

"I’ll go... I’ll have Sister Ping make you something to eat." Wen Nuan paused in her steps, nearly blurting out that she’d cook for him. Thankfully, her brain was faster than her tongue, so she didn’t say it out loud.

"Sister Ping should be resting now, better not disturb her. Bringing you back deserves some thanks, right? I don’t take verbal ones, but making some food is open for consideration."

Leng Yan sank into the sofa, his fingers unconsciously covering his stomach.

"Alright."

Wen Nuan bit her lip, turned around, and seeing his face slightly pale, she couldn’t help but be startled, "Stomach ache?"

She only learned he had a stomach condition when she asked Sister Ping what kind of alcohol he liked to drink that day in the kitchen.

"A little."

Leng Yan nodded, but cold sweat broke out on his forehead. Knowing her car had a flat tire, he didn’t ask Sister Ping to cook, just grabbed a small snack before going to find her. All the way, his stomach was hurting, but he’d been holding it in.

Seeing she was more worried than he was, he couldn’t help but smile, "Are you very worried?"

He looked very happy, and Wen Nuan, somewhat puzzled, stared at him. Looking so sick, what was there to be happy about? Could it be because of her reaction...

Heh, he just wanted to make fun of her again.

"Are you worried about me?" he asked again, his eyes still smiling.

"Just feeling sorry." Nuan paused slightly.

Feeling sorry that he helped her yet ended up with a stomach ache, she felt very apologetic.

Worrying was something a wife should do, she shouldn’t have used that word.

"Really?" Leng Yan glanced up at her, a sense of inexplicable loss welling up in his heart.

"Really."

Wen Nuan gave a faint smile, lowered her eyes to hide the bitterness within, frantically stood up, "Noodles are hard to digest, I’ll make some millet porridge, then take some stomach medicine, or call Uncle Chen."

"No need, if Uncle Chen finds out, he’ll scold me again." Leng Yan stopped her, smiled weakly, "Cook millet porridge."

After cooking it, she carefully carried it over and placed it in front of him. Hoping he’d drink it himself, seeing how pale and weak his lips were, she finally sighed, picked up the bowl, and scooped a small spoonful, "Eat."

"It smells good." He smiled, very faintly, yet with an inexplicable joy that even he couldn’t describe.

"Really?" Wen Nuan smiled sweetly, and realizing what she was doing, quickly turned her head away.

He spoke casually, there was no need to be happy. Ah, her heart was always in turmoil, just a careless glance from him would leave her at a loss.

"Are you afraid of me?"

Leng Yan ate the porridge, suddenly asked, his eyes half-lowered watching her, "Why did you come back so late?"
