Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong -
Chapter 1412 - Chapter 1412 Chapter 829 The Technology of Unknown Species_1
Chapter 1412: Chapter 829: The Technology of Unknown Species_1 Chapter 1412: Chapter 829: The Technology of Unknown Species_1 Having finished speaking, Leo Ray watched as his subordinates rallied their spirits and, like him, cast their eyes towards the quiet town that was now within their reach.
Under the bright sunlight, the town ahead appeared patchy and somewhat dilapidated, many of its wooden structures rotting and cracked.
It was as if a giant riddled with holes was laying there in silence, recounting tales of bygone times, evoking a sense of deep-seated vicissitude.
“Lord, to prevent any traps set by unknown species within the town, why don’t my fellow comrades and I take the lead to explore first?”
Taylor, along with his companions Jasper Richardson and Red Night, stepped forward, saluting Leo Ray respectfully.
“Agreed, if you encounter any danger, retreat immediately.”
Leo Ray nodded towards the three of his subordinates, responding, “We have no knowledge of this place, caution is paramount.”
With their orders received, Taylor and the others disappeared with a sudden flash, leaving Leo Ray’s sight.
While Taylor and the others were exploring the town, Leo Ray wasn’t idling either. He was recalling the series of experiences upon entering the Wandering Gate while assessing the current situation.
Before long, Leo Ray discovered something predictable yet troublesome.
That was his telepathy, private messages, and even the chat channel had temporarily lost contact with the outside world again. The Returning Crystal and Teleportation Crystal were also in a state where they could not be utilized.
“Just like Sarah Shawn mentioned, only by finding the corresponding Divine Stone can we leave this place. It seems she was right.”
Leo Ray looked up at the unchanged brilliant sunlight overhead and shook his head in resignation.
The silvery-white tunnel that was there when they arrived had disappeared. This place was now akin to a solitary island in the middle of boundless seas, undoubtedly leaving no room for escape.
As Leo Ray got to this point, no one noticed.
In the corner of the town’s outer wall, a few short black figures flickered and instantly disappeared, leaving behind an almost imperceptible dark mist that soon blended into the air.
“Lord, I did not expect such a delicate Pressure detection barrier to be set up in this seemingly ordinary town.”
Silver-winged Ariel Watson, after having taken a bird’s eye view from mid-air and landing back by Leo Ray’s side, thoughtfully commented, “It certainly is a deviation from the mainstream magic.”
“Compared to other races that focus on researching and improving the magic array on its own, this sensing device that combines magic array with physical entities is indeed quite unique.”
Elusa, pausing in contemplation, nodded in agreement, “In all the ancient ruins we have explored, I have never seen a race that uses magic arrays in such a clever way.”
She paused, her long pointed ears flicked, then she added, “But the magic array on this Pressure Detection Barrier is extremely straightforward. Once the opponent discovers it, it can easily be destroyed, this is an irrefutable fact.”
Hearing the two of them, Leo Ray was beginning to picture this unknown species.
Unlike races specializing in magic, this unknown species’ technology tree seemed more inclined to the combination of magic and technology, indeed quite unusual.
As Leo Ray was musing on this, Ariel Watson’s crisp voice came through again.
“Elusa is right. On further thought, this Pressure Detection Barrier seems refined, but in fact, has many limitations.”
“For example, it cannot cover the target area comprehensively like other regular detection barriers, nor can it detect unknown aerial units or reach every corner of a building.”
Ariel Watson looked at the scattered metal plates not far away, continuing thoughtfully, “Moreover, this Pressure Detection Barrier cannot discern between friend and foe or adjust its effective range. Its limitations are indeed significant.”
“However, the special combination method developed by this unknown species may play a positive role in my current integration of magic and technology.”
Leo Ray snapped his fingers lightly and raised his eyebrows, “In the world I came from, the development direction was completely different from here. Because of that, many theories and application methods that are unimaginable in this world were born, what we lack most now is integration and practice.”
“This unknown species appears to have a certain level of technological prowess. For example, the pressure metal plates used in this special detection barrier fall within the category of mechanics.”
With a keen gaze, Leo Ray continued, “What I currently lack the most is time. The upcoming research and development will also be the same. If we can get help from this unknown species, research and development will undoubtedly be smoother.”
After listening to Leo Ray’s words, the subordinates all nodded in vague understanding.
Although the Lord had not specifically mentioned the affairs of the previous world, the research he was about to conduct was highly exalted and easy to understand.
That is, combining the strengths of two worlds to develop stronger weapons and other beneficial means, and to trigger an unprecedented profound transformation in this world of myriad clans, swords, and magic.
“A race that can contribute to the Lord’s lofty ideals?”
Twirling her long eyelashes, Ariel Watson appeared expectant, murmuring, “I am really curious about the true face of this unknown species.”
