Eternal Tale
Ch. 312 - Storms gather, and all forces are in motion

Chen Xun bid farewell to the Baili Clan and the Jiuhua Demon-Sealing Ape Clan in the mountains, accompanied by soldiers and spirit beasts along the way.

The sky was unusually dark today, with layers of oppressive black clouds hanging low as if ready to collapse. Thunderclaps boomed deafeningly, and blinding lightning flashed intermittently, creating a terrifying atmosphere.

Boom!

A bolt of lightning streaked across the sky, slicing through the roiling clouds. As thunder rumbled across the heavens, the pent-up tension of the storm was finally released. Torrential rain poured down, washing away the noise and heaviness of the Ten Thousand Mountains.

Meng Sheng stood from afar, watching the departing figure descend the mountain, his eyes filled with reverence.

Chen Xun and his companions walked forward calmly, unbothered by the raging storm as if strolling through a tranquil garden.

As they stepped beyond the mountains, a sudden thunderous tremor erupted within the Ten Thousand Mountains. Warships soared into the sky, blotting out the heavens, while battle flags fluttered fiercely, seemingly ready to pierce the nine heavens!

Roar!

Roar!

Earth-shaking roars echoed throughout the mountains as massive figures took to the skies, striding through the air. The heavens trembled with their ascent, creating an awe-inspiring spectacle.

Boom! Boom!

Within the heavy storm clouds, lightning crackled and thunder exploded like dragons leaping across the sky, rolling in all directions, heralding an impending tempest of unparalleled magnitude.

Chen Xun's gaze sharpened as he continued forward through the downpour. Behind him, warships ascended from the mountain valleys, covering the sky with an overwhelming presence, their momentum unyielding before the might of the heavens.

Buzz—

Buzz—

Warships streaked across the sky, passing over their heads with a deep, resonant hum. A solemn and murderous aura pervaded the land.

That very day, across all 360 states of The Great Li Realm, countless Nascent Soul cultivators lifted their heads to the sky, their expressions shifting.

Ancient lands trembled as powerful figures emerged from seclusion, their boundless auras shaking the eight directions. With solemn expressions, they clasped hands behind their backs and gazed into the heavens.

The Five Ancient Immortal Sects, the Three Great Cultivation Families, the Two Sacred Palaces, as well as hidden and supreme forces—all were stirred!

Throughout the Great Li Realm, storm clouds gathered, and rainbow lights occasionally pierced the sky. Countless cultivators and mortals alike were struck with an overwhelming sense of dread, an inexplicable, foreboding terror.

In various ancient lands, where buildings bore the marks of time, deep voices murmured:

"The Baili Clan has emerged. The Jiuhua Demon-Sealing Ape Clan has emerged!"

"The battlefield of the realms may be on the verge of a great upheaval. It’s time to prepare in advance."

"Heh, if that day truly arrives, I will welcome it with open arms."

A world-shaking battle loomed on the horizon, and all cultivators were urged to make ready to carve a path for their domain!

The Baili Clan had fully stepped out of the Ten Thousand Mountains, calling upon all forces. The leaders of the major powers were visibly shaken—this news was beyond shocking...

Furrowed brows and grim expressions filled the ranks of the great forces. It was too sudden; they had not been mentally or logistically prepared.

Yet, those who held such positions were all decisive and ruthless figures. It took but a brief moment before they began mobilizing, preparing for what was to come.

The Baili Clan would never joke about such matters. No one doubted them—not after all the legends surrounding their lineage.

They understood that delaying further would only give the Corrupted Lifespan greater time to prepare. If they did not strike in this generation, the next might face an even more dire fate.

For the Baili Clan to make such a bold move, they must have either steeled themselves for the worst—or discovered... a path forward!

Meanwhile, the Jiuhua Ancestor reached out to ancient spirit beast clans across the land with a single message:

"The path beyond the realm is in sight. Cease your meaningless survival. When the Heavenly Gate reopens once more, go if you will—or be left behind!"

The entire course of history within the Great Li Realm shifted. One by one, ancient reclusive monsters emerged, exuding domineering auras, their eyes ablaze with intensity. They had awaited this day for far too long!

These were once the most formidable figures of The Great Li Realm—the prodigies of their generation. Yet the path ahead had been severed. How could they resign themselves to such a fate? Even in death, they should perish while striving forward!

"Baili Clan, we await word from the Four Immortal Mountains beyond the sea."

"Hahaha! At long last, the time has come. I refuse to simply wither away in seclusion!"

"Baili Lingjin, many thanks!"

...

Across the vast lands, reverberations of powerful voices echoed, carrying a hint of excitement. It had been too long since they had felt this way.

At their level, every step forward left no room for retreat. Power struggles and territorial disputes no longer held meaning for them.

Their pursuit was... the pinnacle of the Dao! Their only wish was to witness that long-sought moment before their deaths.

Yet the Five Ancient Immortal Sects and Three Great Cultivation Families remained silent. Without the support of ancient resources, they had declined at an alarming rate, with hardly any top-tier cultivators left.

Most of them rarely ventured onto the Realm Battlefield. In particular, after breaking through to the Nascent Soul Formation Stage, they would return to build up their factions, never truly pursuing the path ahead.

However, the young prodigies of the Ancient Immortal Sects did not see it that way. They had to go—even if it meant defying their elders' orders. They could not sit idly by and await their demise!

What defines a prodigy? One who fought their way to the top, who seized their destiny. Corrupted Lifespan? So what? Nothing could shake their unwavering Dao hearts.

The Elders of the Ancient Immortal Sects were deeply conflicted. They dared not violate the ancestral decrees, their minds hardened by centuries of tradition.

Yet, how could they not long to seek the path ahead? Unlike the great cultivation families, they were not bound by bloodline ties.

And so, after weighing the pros and cons, they made a fateful decision—one that would defy their ancestral commandments...

...

The clamor across the 360 states of The Great Li Realm gradually faded.

A colossal warship sailed across the Sea of Thunder, where radiant light bathed the surroundings and the sun remained dazzling. Below, the boundless sea of lightning churned, its thunderous roars shaking the heavens.

They were headed toward the Tian Duan Plains.

Inside a pavilion aboard the warship, the big black ox sat in meditation, cultivating. Its presence stirred shocking phenomena—the Sea of Thunder beneath them trembled, its lightning suppressed, rumbling low in protest.

At the bow of the ship, Little Red stood excitedly, eyes gleaming. It remembered the route. They were finally returning safely. The Tian Duan Plains—it was home!

Chen Xun's lips curled into a slight smile. His mastery over heaven and earth's energy had grown significantly—he could shatter the thunderclouds below with a single hand.

But there was no need. One must not interfere with the natural workings of the world—that would be a great offense against the heavens.

"Little Red, we will set up a teleportation array at the Tian Duan Plains. Then, we can return anytime we wish."

"No problem, Brother Xun! There's no place in this world safer than the Tian Duan Plains!"

Little Red trembled with excitement, its fur bristling. No one knew just how thrilled it was. "I even stashed away a bunch of stolen treasures there—priceless stuff!"

Chen Xun raised an eyebrow, reaching out with a large hand. "Little Red, you dared to pull tricks under my nose back then?"

"Heh heh, Brother Xun, I was just leaving myself a backup plan. If we were ever hunted down, we’d at least have something to survive on!"

Little Red grinned sheepishly as Chen Xun lifted it into the air, even spinning it around once. Its once-mighty demeanor was now replaced by sheer mischief. "We had to leave too quickly back then; I didn’t have time to retrieve it..."

"I see. That does sound like you. Reminds me of myself and your Bull Brother back in the day."

Chen Xun suddenly burst into laughter and tossed Little Red onto his back. "We also need to visit the Tian Duan Plains. Those God-killing Stones are as plentiful as sand in the sea—endless supply."

"No problem, Brother Xun! I’ll handle the hauling!" Little Red shouted eagerly. "With my bandit gear, I fear nothing! Maybe when we reach the Three Thousand Great Worlds, these stones will be invaluable!"

Chen Xun chuckled. "So, you’re not afraid anymore?"

"Not at all, Brother Xun! I mean it—I’m really not afraid! After seeing so much, I’ve never once truly faced a life-and-death crisis."

Little Red lay on Chen Xun’s back, raising its voice proudly. Yet its eyes revealed a touch of nostalgia. "As long as I don’t drag you all down, that’s enough for me."

"Don’t overthink it. Once we reach the Three Thousand Great Worlds, we’ll just focus on earning spirit stones and living comfortably. The cultivation resources there are abundant beyond imagination."

Chen Xun turned his head slightly, his voice carrying an unshakable sense of security and determination. "Compared to that place, we are in a backwater region. The cultivation civilization there must be unimaginably vast."

Little Red sucked in a sharp breath, its eyes slightly unfocused, completely mesmerized by Chen Xun’s grand vision.

Meanwhile, Chen Xun’s gaze fell upon the meditating big black ox. A faint smile appeared on his lips.

No matter what dangers lay ahead—as long as the Old Ox was with them, they would always have a way to escape.
