Chapter 904: Chapter 857: From 2141

The Archbishop’s pre-war declaration filled the square with cheers, and everyone gathered there was immersed in joy, as if victory were already at hand, leaving only Vadim at the front of the line filled with doubts.

From the crowd’s cheers, he learned the name of the Archbishop.

Archbishop Dargon Vida.

This was a completely unfamiliar name, which made him even more convinced that this was another world.

Because, regardless of whether the final victory could be achieved, the person in this position would surely leave his mark on history, and the Church’s presence would definitely leave a significant impression in the Fourth District.

Soon, Vadim realized he should do something.

The "Blue Eyes" company had sent him here for a reason, and it certainly wasn’t to listen to the pre-war declaration with these believers from another world.

Just now, Archbishop Dargon had revealed important information.

The Saint Heir was about to descend upon the world.

Although he had never followed any religious beliefs, he understood the significance of the Saint Heir to the Church. He hesitated for a long time, but finally mustered the courage, held his breath, and walked directly towards the Archbishop.

Theoretically, as an outsider to another world, no one should notice his presence.

Yet the strange occurrences that night were too many, pulling Vadim down from his delusionally divine state back to reality; at this moment, he could only pray internally that Archbishop Dargon and the believers under the pulpit were unaware of his presence.

The two knights clad in silver armor, their faces concealed by helmets, flanking the Archbishop were clearly tough characters to deal with.

This reminded Vadim of the prevailing knight culture in the Second District.

The knights in silver armor bore the mark symbolizing retribution, and he did not know if the traditions of the Iris Consortium had any connections with the Church.

Fortunately, in this world filled with faith, his prayers seemed to have been answered.

The Archbishop and his imposing Church knights did not notice him, allowing him to enter the grand church-style building without drawing any attention.

As soon as he stepped inside, the giant statue in the hall captured Vadim’s attention.

The statue was made of a material he had never seen before, with a huge hand holding a planet in its palm.

An unprecedented sensation of palpitations surged in Vadim’s heart, stopping his steps; he could not tell where the oppressive feeling came from, and even as an outsider, he felt an urge to worship the strange statue.

"Hey, what are you thinking about?"

The voice from behind snapped Vadim back to reality; he was startled, as the visions had made him lose track of time to the extent that he hadn’t noticed someone else had entered and was now behind him.

It was a knight in silver armor, his hand resting on Vadim’s shoulder.

Vadim opened his mouth reflexively, but then, he realized that the knight wasn’t addressing him and belatedly discovered that his body overlapped with someone else, making it seem like the knight’s hand was on his shoulder.

The person overlapping him was also clad in silver armor, but without a helmet, and was also, like him, standing in front of the strange and grand statue.

"Lie Ge... cough, Knight Commander."

The somewhat cheeky sounding knight realized his slip in address, coughed lightly to make his voice sound more solemn, "Are you heading to District Seventeen?"

Vadim stepped aside.

The person referred to as the Knight Commander was a man with a cold exterior, who nodded slightly in response to his subordinate’s question, "I’m going alone, you don’t need to follow."

"Great, no trip! Ah, I mean, please take utmost care, Knight Commander..."

After uttering the pleasantries, the subordinate suddenly leaned closer to the Knight Commander, lowering his voice. Even though he was wearing a helmet, Vadim could imagine the gossiping expression on his face.

He whispered, "Has the Archbishop mentioned anything about the abilities of the Saint Heir? Everyone at the Tribunal has been discussing it lately; there are all sorts of rumors."

If there were "authoritative" firsthand information, getting a few meals in exchange wouldn’t be a problem.

"No."

"Really?"

The subordinate’s voice carried an unmistakable disappointment, "But I heard that the awakening this time in District Seventeen is unprecedented in scale. Although your power is invincible, it’s still best to be cautious."

"Hmm."

The conversation ended swiftly.

As noise came from outside, the subordinate quickly scurried out, returning to his post.

The Knight Commander took a deep breath, and after watching his subordinate’s back disappear, he turned again to gaze deeply at the statue.

Vadim finally snapped out of his "wooden" state; although the conversation sounded like casual chatter while slacking off, it had revealed much information to him.

The cold man in front of him was named Knight Commander Lie Ge, a Psychic.

So,

Is this Church actually a base for Psychics?

For some reason, Vadim felt that this otherworld seemed to be linked to his own world in a subtly intricate manner.
