At eleven o’clock in the evening, Song Lan packed his things and, as promised, went to the "Gold Seeker" bar.

Ivan was still the one to receive him, but perhaps because he didn’t recognize him, this time Ivan didn’t bring out his cherished liquor. Instead, after hearing his purpose for visiting, he directly took him to one of the private rooms.

The person waiting in the private room was not the High Prosecutor Dominas.

Three individuals were dispersed inside the room, two of them he recognized – the slender man who had meticulously explained the history of the Gold Seekers the first time he came to the bar, and the woman by the door whom he had briefly met that same night.

The only unfamiliar face was the serious, sturdy man.

Perhaps, this is what people commonly refer to as fate.

"Dorago Safron."

The slender man introduced himself, thus initiating the conversation.

Based on the woman’s way of addressing him, it seemed like he was the captain among the three of them.

"The High Prosecutor directed me to come here..."

"Argh, why are you making the atmosphere so heavy?"

The woman, who had been dispiritedly leaning against the room’s entrance, all of a sudden seemed lively when she saw Song Lan. Excitedly resting her hand on Song Lan’s shoulder, she invited him to take a seat, "Since we’re now fighting on the same front, we’re comrades."

Her enthusiastic demeanor seemed to shock her companion as well. The captain paused for a moment before finally saying, "Please, take a seat."

"I’ll go grab a few drinks. What do you all want?"

Wearing a gleaming smile, the woman was behaving in such a flattering manner that Song Lan was taken aback. Did Mr. Killer’s infamous reputation scare people off so much that they went to great lengths to be nice to him?

"What are you doing? You’re being too nice,"

he hurriedly waved his hand, trying his best to show a friendly smile, "We should get straight to business."

"Well then, you guys start talking. I’ll get us some drinks."

Saying this, the woman, without waiting for Song Lan’s response, cheerfully trotted out of the room, leaving the bewildered men behind.

After the woman left, the room went silent again.

Song Lan decided to stick to his strategy of waiting. The main reason was that Dominas’ text was a bit confusing; he really didn’t know why he was here. Besides, he wasn’t familiar with these three men, and being ignored when trying to make conversation could be quite unpleasant.

Eventually, the captain broke the silence, "The one you need to handle is a destruction-type Ability User capable of accelerating time."

They had been tracking this person’s whereabouts for some time now.

Since the incident involving Chai Ke, their target had struck three more times—suppressing the remnants led by Lainal, killing Phine Arnhem, and causing a traffic accident in broad daylight. It was this accident that gave them a hint about the Ability User’s power.

This was an Ability User not recorded in the United Government’s archives. Throughout the United Government’s long history of studying Spirit Ability Users, there had never been an Ability User with similar powers.

On the evolution chain of spiritual energy, time and space were still areas of unknown knowledge.

They initially thought that only the Ability User himself could move during the acceleration of time. However, the car suddenly appearing next to a loafer in the video dispelled this notion.

Speaking of this, the man took out a tablet and clicked the play button.

The scene reflected on the screen was that of a street sleeper being hit and sent flying by a sedan.

If it weren’t for the video recording the sudden leap in time, they might never have understood what was going on. This also explained why Chai Ke, Angel Foster, and Phine Arnhem were killed with a blow to the chest without taking any actions.

Because during the acceleration of time, their reactions were just like those of pedestrians stuck in time.

Cars do not have reflexes; they simply perform the actions commanded by the driver.

Thereby, it maintained its motion during time acceleration and the Ability User exploited this to cause an inexplicable car accident.

Listening to the captain’s analysis piqued Song Lan’s interest. From a single video, they had deduced a lot of information. This reminded him of Lu Xiang who had similarly figured out Phine Arnhem’s abilities’ weaknesses based solely on the destruction caused and a few pictures—they hadn’t even met.

He also knew that in the core area, there was a school specifically for students to understand spiritual energy. Their ultimate objective of study was to exploit the loopholes in the rules to kill Ability Users.

Could these people be from the same school as Lu Xiang?

"So, your conclusion is?"

"During time acceleration, humans and objects do not remain static. Just like the car in the video, if an object is in motion when it enters the time acceleration phase, that motion will also be accelerated," explained the captain. "For instance, if I were to shoot a bullet, it would instantly unzip the distance within ’1 second’ and arrive at its destination."

The theory he was discussing was the possibility that the High Prosecutor Dominas had been thinking about.

A possible method to take down this seemingly invincible Ability User.

"In theory, if we can predict his movement path during time acceleration, or intentionally lead him into the path of the ’bullet,’ we can kill him during the time acceleration process," he concluded.
