Chapter 541: Chapter 541: Code_1

This was a torturous night.

When dawn’s sky blushed with the light of day, the all-night thought correction remedy finally came to an end.

The teacher responsible for the remedy looked at the listless young man and asked gently, "What do you think of the first day’s treatment? The first lesson in thought correction is to hope that you won’t look at the world with eyes of hatred, but learn to be thankful."

Her tone and the Restraints on the boy’s body, as well as the equipment used for electric shocks, formed a stark contrast.

The teacher was no longer surprised by the boy’s refusal to speak.

As an experienced therapist, she knew all too well that one session of electric shock therapy was limited in effectiveness, especially for a student who dared to attack the principal and plan an escape; it wasn’t enough to change his deeply ingrained ideology.

"You are the elite selected by fate; the world has bestowed upon you gifts, and you should use them for good."

This had always been the philosophy advocated by Purple Wisteria Academy.

To work wholeheartedly for the company.

This was not only able to change the students’ own lives, allowing their families to rise from poverty and destitution, but it could also help the world in a truly meaningful way.

What saddened her was that these children had failed to understand the advanced philosophy of the academy, instead being seduced by some detrimental external influences.

"I don’t blame you."

The teacher gently patted the boy’s shoulder. The rhythm of thought correction therapy was very important; one should never underestimate such an inconspicuous action. It could very well become a mental anchor for the recipient in the future, and after a prolonged state of being shocked, any comforting gestures or words might become a sanctuary for their mind.

And on the first day of treatment, she needed to establish the rudiments of that sanctuary.

She lowered her voice, "I understand your thoughts; you are at the age most susceptible to external negative influences. When I was your age, I, too, had many rebellious thoughts."

As she spoke, the teacher moved a chair behind the boy and gently placed her hands on either side of his head, massaging him.

This would help the young man relax more quickly.

"If you are tired, then sleep. After you fall asleep, I will take you to your room."

Her soft voice became a whisper, full of hypnotic effect, "Don’t misunderstand, I am not your enemy. I am helping you, and one day you will understand."

"You want to help me?"

The boy suddenly spoke up.

"That’s right."

"Then take me to see her."

"See who?"

"The traitor."

Even from this angle, without seeing the boy’s expression, the teacher could easily imagine his fierce, teeth-clenched visage. She smiled knowingly; it seemed that the words she mentioned during the thought correction treatment had taken effect. She had used the boy’s teammate as a case study to emphasize the importance of waking up in time.

She specifically told the boy that the female student had shortened the duration of her thought correction treatment because of her own performance.

And of her act of informing, she offered a different interpretation.

It was to help them, to allow their teammate to return to the correct path in time, and thus it could not be considered a betrayal.

Of course, her real purpose in saying this was not to mend the soon-to-fracture relationship between teammates but to redirect the boy’s anger onto others.

Compared with this teacher who had not directly participated in the adolescent program, it was still the betrayer who informed on them and caused their capture that the youth hated more deeply.

"She is downstairs right now, I can take you to see her, but you have to promise me one thing, after seeing her, you are not allowed to do anything out of line; otherwise, under the institute’s rules, your treatment period may be extended," the teacher said.

"I understand," the youth replied.

The youth’s voice still contained uncontrollable anger, but even so, the teacher unlocked his restraints, leaving only the bracelet designed to suppress the release of Spiritual Energy, and cuffed the youth’s arms behind his back. Then, she helped the trembling young man downstairs.

The treatment on the other side was also nearing its end.

The girl’s willpower was clearly not as strong as the youth’s, and at that moment, she leaned weakly in the chair, her vacant eyes staring ahead lifelessly.

But when the youth arrived at the door, that drifting gaze caught sight of the familiar face.

Everything seemed coincidental, yet it was all a result of prior arrangements.

To ensure that the girl noticed the youth immediately, they had intentionally positioned the treatment restraint chair to face the door.

For a moment, fearful and angry eyes intertwined.

The pain from the thought correction treatment and the guilt of betraying her teammates made the girl quickly avert her gaze. Under the constraint of the restraints, she awkwardly twisted her neck to look at the table where the machine controls were.

Not far from the machine, there was a green potted plant.

The potted plant also naturally came into the youth’s view.

The next moment, as if he had received some signal, he rammed his head hard into the door, the intense rattling sound startling the two teachers for a second. By the time the teacher behind him regained his composure and grabbed the youth’s arm, a bloody imprint had been left on the door of the treatment room.

Blood flowed down the youth’s forehead, and as if he felt no pain at all, he recklessly unleashed his power.

As expected, this triggered the Spiritual Energy suppression device.

Electric current surged through his body, becoming the last straw that broke the camel’s back, plunging him into unconsciousness in an instant.

Meanwhile, Xinya, who was far away in the hospital building, was also struggling within.

Dawn was approaching, and she had not slept all night.

The guards at the ward’s entrance had changed over two or three times, while her gaze lingered on the paper inside the bedding for a long time.

Many significant events had taken place in the school hospital building that day. It was said that a student had attacked the principal and been punished. Her "eyewitness" ability once again came into play, and from beyond the ward’s door, she witnessed the scene of the youth and his teammates being escorted away.

Unprecedented turmoil had come to Purple Wisteria Institute, and it all started when she witnessed a classmate attacking the artificial intelligence guard on her way back to the dormitory after finishing a day of volunteer work.

As the three were being escorted away, no one noticed a paper airplane quietly flying into her ward through the window.

This was the ability of a support member of the youth’s team. As a well-known figure of Purple Wisteria Institute, there wasn’t a student who didn’t know about the abilities of this trio.

The paper airplane landed beside her pillow, and what was even more shocking to Xinya was the vital information recorded on it.

It was a map.

The map showed a secret passage leading from inside the campus to the outside.

And on the other side of the paper was another brief yet terrifying message:

"To invalidate all abilities, that is the principal’s power... Student Xinya, please be sure to take this note to the secret passage and hand it to a person named Angle. I’m counting on you!"
