Edge of the Apocalypse
Chapter 919: Great Changes Are Coming

A horse carriage, neither marked nor luxurious, arrived at the entrance of the Diamond Empress Theatre in the dark. Behind the window of the ordinary carriage, the curtains were lifted, revealing a plain but slightly pale face. Seeing this face, the doorman trotted over and whispered, "Young Master Parson, you're here."

It was the Count's third son, a great noble who had no sense of existence in Mountain City. Only in the Diamond Empress did the familiar guests of the theater recognize this noble young master who frequented this place. Parson smiled faintly. "Miss Orly, did you perform?"

"Not yet. There have to be two repertoires before Miss Ollie's solo."

"We came at the right time." Parson jumped out of the carriage, shook his body, and stood firm, and then took out a cluster of roses in a warm color from the carriage. However, against the festive red roses, Parson's face became even more morbid. He coughed twice and handed the rose to the doorman, "Send it to Ollie for me."

He didn't forget to throw a gold coin to the doorman and walked towards the door.

The doorman nodded and bowed. He pinched the gold coin and snorted, "Stingy."

If it were in the past, a gold coin reward would be enough for him to enjoy for a few nights. But not long ago, another wealthy young master had rewarded him with a bag of gold coins, which was enough for him to eat and drink for three years. In contrast, he felt that Parson's reward was too petty.

People's hearts were lacking.

Of course, Parson didn't know what a small door was thinking, nor did he know that one of the three boxes he had reserved all year round had been privately opened by the door attendant to another guest. Parsons was familiar with the experience room, which was in the middle, with two empty rooms on the left and right. Apart from hiding the truth, the important thing was that she wasn't afraid of being known about her date with Ollie.

The box faced the theater stage below and Parson sat down. Very quickly, after the two plays had passed, the woman he had fallen in love with appeared on the stage. Ollie came from a humble background, had a delicate appearance, had a beautiful figure, and could be considered a small pillar in the theatre. There were quite a few people chasing after her, and she was still able to sing in the theater by herself, instead of being kept by some noble lord. Parson had done a great job behind his back, and if it weren't for his noble young master holding up an umbrella to protect the little woman, Ollie would have long since become a plaything.

On the stage, Ollie began to sing. Her voice was clear and graceful, high like a bird breaking through the rain, low like a ghost sobbing, exciting. Parson closed his eyes and felt that he and Orly were the only ones left in the world. Although the woman was singing to everyone below the stage, to Parson, it was as if she was singing solo to herself.

He liked this woman very much. Unfortunately, his father had always opposed it. Fortunately, the count had not interfered with his private life. Otherwise, Parson would only feel that he had no love for her.

A song was sung.

Not long after, Parson heard a knock on the door.

"Come in." He said.

Then a fiery body jumped into his embrace. Parson opened his eyes and squeezed his head into Orly's soft, jade-like peaks. Ollie hugged his head and moaned, "My lord …"

Panting heavily, Parson casually pulled the cord beside him, and the two thick veil curtains facing the stage were lowered. The room instantly turned into an independent small world. Parson threw Ollie into the chair. He pulled off his coat, brutally stretched out the woman's legs, and buried his head deep between Ollie's legs. The woman's eyes blurred as she bowed like a shrimp. The wings of her nose buzzed, her mouth slightly opened, and she spat out a string of beautiful sounds from her throat that were not inferior to her singing voice.

Ollie could not be reduced to other people's playthings, but she was destined to become a forbidden descendant of Parson. She herself did not reject this point. On the whole, the Parsons were decent and of high status. Most importantly, as long as Parson still liked her, she was only a plaything for Parson. However, if they were to be taken care of by other big shots, they wouldn't know how many men they would have to wait for. It was not rare for nobles to gift toys to each other.

However, this Young Master Parson was often unable to catch him, which made Ollie feel rather regretful.

Just like now, when Young Master Parson entered her body, he was incomparably valiant at the beginning. However, after two or three shots, she surrendered. Ollie didn't feel anything, and everything was over. The woman glanced at the useless man without a trace, her eyes filled with contempt and disdain. However, she still smiled and said, "Every time Young Master Parson makes me unable to walk, see how I will return later."

"There's no need to go back," Parson smiled weakly. "Stay here with me tonight."

Ollie bit her lips and pretended to be shy, making Parson even more admiring. He propped himself up and slid his palm across Ollie's face. He landed in the soft jade and whispered in the woman's ear, "I'll eat you again later."

Ollie was shocked. Three percent of it was fake, and seven percent came from the bottom of her heart. "Young Master is so brave," she giggled. "But Ollie is yours anyway. You just eat slowly. There's no need to be in a hurry."

She knew Parson's body very well. She didn't mind if this young master wanted to fight again. However, if anything happened to her, she, a little singer, would not be able to shoulder this responsibility. Despite her euphemism, Parson was still unhappy. Just as he was about to reprimand her, he suddenly heard someone cough dryly.

This dry cough fell into the ears of the two of them, and it was as calm as thunder.

Ollie was shocked and quickly put on her clothes. "Who is it?" Parson shouted angrily.

'"Sorry to disturb you two. I originally wanted to wait patiently for you two to complete the good deeds and have a good chat with Young Master Parson. Unexpectedly, Young Master Parson is so valiant that I can't interrupt you." The person next door slowly said, "I took the liberty of disturbing Young Master Parson to remind you that a great calamity is imminent. Only I can save you. Believe it or not, there will be a great change in three days. You will know then."

Then there was no sound from the private room.

Parson's expression changed. He ran to the next room and saw that there was no one left. He walked back gloomily and said to Ollie, "You mustn't reveal any of the words you heard just now, understand?"

Ollie nodded desperately.

When Alan returned to the hotel, Sbraden sent for him to inform him that Remington was on his side. Alan smiled and told Ont to stay at the hotel while he and Belmord rode to his place in the carriage prepared by Spraiden.

At the merchant's house, Alan met Remington. The note he left in Remington's pocket last night told him to come to Sbraden if he wanted to cooperate. Remington had indeed come, and he was all alone, full of sincerity.

Seeing Alan, Remington sneered, "You do have a lot of guts. Aren't you afraid that I'll drag the Mountain City guards over if you reveal your hiding place so easily?"

'"If that's the case, then it's only your loss. I've just met your third brother, Parson. If you don't want to be my watchdog, I'll ask Parson to do the same. Although he's just a sick dog, it won't be a problem for him to do it for two or three years." Allen smiled faintly.

"You're Ellen?" Remington narrowed his eyes and said, "Is that Saga too?"

"Looks like you also know something." Ellen sat down generously. "Earl Rackett took good care of me while I was away from the territory. This time, I was planning to return the favor. How about Young Master Remington? Rackett and Yopney must die, but I don't have the energy to take care of such a large mountain city. You can take over the Earl's territory and just become my subordinate."

"How do I know if you have the ability to kill that old man and Yopuni?"

"Looks like you're not as brainless as the others say." Ellen said calmly, "It's very simple. I'll go to the City Lord's Mansion tomorrow night to cut off those two heads. Just watch from the City Lord's Mansion."

"Oh?" Remington crossed his fingers. "What about Parson?"

'"If you are willing to leave a person fighting for your family's property, then let him live. Otherwise, please do it yourself. Young Master Remington can't possibly be thinking of doing a profitable business, can he? Or can he say that he can't even deal with a sick person?" Alan said softly.

Remington frowned. Alan's meaning was obvious. If Remington wanted Mountain City, he would need to kill Parson himself in exchange for Alan's trust in him. He nodded and said, "Well, if you get rid of the old man and Yopuni, I'll personally take off Parson's head."

"En, there are some other arrangements to help you quickly take over Mountain City after the matter is settled. When the time comes, you can wait for my notice."

After Remington left, Alan looked at Belmord and said, "Tomorrow night, when that man attacks Parson, you will save our third young master. Remember, let him know that Remington must kill him before he can take action. Leave Parson as a chess piece and Mountain City will be in chaos in the future."

"Young Master, don't forget that there is an outsider army in the barracks." Belmord reminded.

Alan nodded. "I know. That's what Sbraden and I are going to talk about next."

After spending nearly an hour at Sbraden's house, Allen and his wife bid farewell and left. The night was as dark as ink, and the two of them did not ride in a carriage. Instead, they walked on foot on the streets of Mountain City. Late at night, the mountain city was quite spacious. The two of them each carried a wine bottle. Belmord sighed, "Although it's so peaceful now, who knows what the big change will be. But for these ordinary citizens, the turmoil will have little impact on them."

"But if Rackett were allowed to plan and send his troops, the people of Mountain City would not feel so good in the future." Allen shook his wine bottle and said, "Once the empire finds out that foreign troops are coming from this place, even if Rackett can clean it up afterwards, the people who live here will inevitably be affected." I could almost imagine that Rackett would eventually give up Mountain City, because he had dug up almost all of it. "That old fellow should be more interested in Ark Harbor. Ark Harbor does not have the rich mineral resources of Mountain City, but its commercial potential is not comparable to a Mountain City."

'"In the end, Mountain City will be abandoned by Rackett. The turmoil he will cause will be even greater and deeper. And the changes I will bring will be limited to the aristocratic class. And in order to manage my image as a Lord, no matter who becomes the Lord, the first thing I need to do is to calm the hearts of the people. That's why you see me as the savior of Mountain City."
