Edge of the Apocalypse -
Chapter 713: Central Battlefield
The world was dark at first.
A little light from somewhere illuminated it, and dots of fluorescent light began to converge. They converged into a small stream that flowed through the darkness. The darkness was illuminated by the river of light, and more and more light converged. Streams of light began to run in the darkness. Occasionally, they would intersect, so the fine streams would turn into rivers, and the rivers would converge into a vast ocean!
The ocean of light was surging. It was a strong pulsation of the ocean. And every time it pulsed, there would always be a wave of violent waves. Waves overlapped, and the waves were higher than the waves. After countless waves were added together, a huge wave appeared at the end of the sea of light. The huge waves continued to roll forward word by word, and the seawater retreated, constantly being swept into the huge waves. The wave wall grew taller and taller, eventually forming a huge wave that was almost a hundred meters tall, slamming heavily into the void.
The void was not empty. After being struck by the wave wall, countless lines of light suddenly appeared in the dim space. They formed a barrier, completely isolating this huge wave from the outside world. The barrier trembled endlessly, and the light patterns flickered, and hundreds of lines were extinguished. However, even though this huge wave was fierce, it was still unable to break through the barrier.
Alan opened his mouth, unable to spit out a mouthful of blood. A heart-wrenching pain came from the heart. It was a symptom of organ damage. He pressed down on his chest and sweated profusely. After a while, the pain gradually subsided and a trace of blood appeared on his pale face. He smiled bitterly and gave up on his plan to continue attacking the Origin Energy Confinement. If this continued, the heart would have to be irreversibly damaged by the collision of the two forces.
He still had the pearls that Lily had given him, and there were a few drops of the Immortal Spring sealed inside for a rainy day. However, Ellen wasn't confident that he could break through the barrier, so he didn't want to casually use the spring water of the Immortal Spring.
After washing off the blood stains on the ground, he took a shower and changed into sweat-soaked clothes. When he left the bathroom, apart from his pale face, he looked the same as usual, except that there were still stabbing pains coming from his chest, reminding him not to try the same again in the short term. Allen smiled bitterly. The Origin Energy in his body was already sufficient to pave the way to the Awakened One Stage, and he could even go further.
If there was no Origin Energy imprisonment.
He didn't know who had imposed this restriction on him, but in retrospect, he had lived in Gobi Town until he was five years old. The town was full of familiar faces, both kind and ugly, and Alan knew every face. He also knew that these people did not have the ability to impose Origin Energy restrictions. What was the purpose of this person who had used Origin Energy Confinement to do this? If he wanted to destroy himself, wouldn't it be more straightforward to kill him when he was still a young child?
Alan shook his head. From the looks of it now, the restriction this person had imposed was only to create trouble for him on the path of battle power. Of course, it was quite troublesome.
With his strength, he might be able to become a viscount on Planet Heaven, even if he was a count. But achievement stops there, whether it's Heavenly Star or Earth, Adahua Planet or the chaotic races. No matter where they were, strength and status were closely linked. Take the Bailey Empire for example. Titles below Earl rank could be obtained through personal strength, political skill, or even business. However, a title above Marquis must be linked to one's own strength. If he couldn't even break through the second barrier and his Origin Energy would remain at its current level, then Allen would only be able to reach the Earl's position in the end. As for the higher positions of power, they were no longer destined for him.
This damn barrier!
At this moment, he thought, Zhi Nao reminded him that there was a visitor.
When the door opened, Ellen saw Catherine's cold face, which looked as if it had been embellished by a blizzard. The Commonwealth Major General gestured to his guards and said coldly, "Wait for me outside."
Without waiting for Alan's invitation, he had already drilled his way in. Alan had to turn to the side, otherwise he would have made full contact with Catherine. She probably wouldn't mind it herself, but the result would be Alan falling to the ground. He didn't want to lose this person in front of the guards. He went to the living room with Catherine. The snow on the major general's face melted slightly and he said, "I'll inform you in advance that we're leaving for the Garden of Eden tomorrow."
"Are you finally going to the central battlefield?" Alan's eyes lit up.
Catherine shook her head and said, "Don't be so excited. Although the planet is called the Garden of Eden, it isn't necessarily heaven."
Alan recognized what she was saying and did not pursue it. Catherine would not have come to inform him of his schedule for tomorrow. There must be something else. Sure enough, after she sat down, she said directly, "The situation in the Garden of Eden is not optimistic. The specific battle report will be sent to your tactical intelligence mind later, including the battlefield and the mission that was set for you. What I want to remind you is that after you enter the battlefield, earn your own military merits honestly. Don't do anything unnecessary."
"What's the matter?" Alan frowned.
"Although Russen hasn't said anything yet, the Sunrise has stayed outside the battlefield for too long. Whether it was the spread of death or the golden lion, it was not normal for them to stay outside the battlefield despite the situation on the central battlefield. Moreover, I have seen the records of the recent days, and the records of the rapid combat ships are the most frequent. Logically speaking, it was just a matter of daily vigilance, and it was impossible for them to have such a high attendance rate. Most importantly, some of these warships did not register specific cruise locations for two to three days. "
Catherine's tone became solemn. "Russen and Marshal, they must have plots outside the battlefield. Even as generals, we have to conceal it, so it's not hard to imagine that the things they're plotting are not small. I came here to remind you that even if you discover anything unusual on the battlefield, it would be best to pretend that nothing has happened. "Unless you want to directly oppose Russen and Capulo."
'"That won't end well, especially in the absence of your teacher. Almost no one can stand up to Capulet. As for your highness, even I dare to ignore her. I don't think Capulet will care much about her highness. You know, Emperor Orfasis has a lot of children, and His Highness Lucy doesn't seem to be his favorite daughter."
Catherine left, and Alan went back to his room. Tactical Intelligence had received some information, and it was basically the latest battle report from the Garden of Eden. As Catherine said, the Federation's situation in the Garden of Eden was not very good. For this superplanet like Paradise Star, the Federation and Adahua Planet worked together to develop it. But the Federation's territory is only one-third of Adahua Planet's, so the battlefield is not as vast as Adahua Planet's.
In the Federation-controlled area, there were five military vital points and hundreds of bases, constituting the distribution of the Federation's military power. Now, a stronghold had fallen.
