Edge of the Apocalypse -
Chapter 1455: Unique Paradise 2
The Holy Lord led Alan deeper and deeper into the lake. This underground lake was strangely large. The Holy Lord was a colossus, and swimming in the lake wasn't crowded at all. Ellen held his breath and looked around. He was amazed. He thought that the underground lake he saw in the cave was only the tip of an iceberg. No wonder barbarian tribes chose to settle here. This freshwater underground lake should be the source of water for the entire mountain area, and then it flows through underground rivers to the surroundings of the mountain area.
A moment later, Alan saw the bottom of the lake.
The bottom of the lake is lush with grass and countless fish live in the depths of the lake. The fish in the freshwater lake also exhibited Agares' biological characteristics, and none of them looked the same. They crawled out of the water grass as if they weren't afraid of the Holy Lord. Instead, they took the initiative to welcome them, with schools of fish chasing after them endlessly on both sides.
Allen swept his gaze over and saw that it was a myriad of strange shoals of fish. Some of them were round like light bulbs, some were flat, some were sharp like prisms, and some were small like fingers. When they were frightened, they scattered in an uproar. The bottom of the lake was a lively world.
At this moment, the Holy Lord passed by a large patch of water grass. This was like a prairie in a lake. The grassland shone with two different colors, red and blue, revealing a patch of coral when a clump of water grass was pulled to the side by the current. Alan looked carefully. It was not some kind of coral, but a natural cluster of crystals. The red and blue crystals grew together and looked like pieces of coral from afar. It was the light emitted by these things that illuminated the bottom of the lake. When Alan's perception touched it, he could feel the abundant Origin Energy contained within these crystals.
The flow of water suddenly accelerated.
Alan narrowed his eyes. He could vaguely see the shore of the lake on both sides. The terrain had changed from wide to narrow, but the Holy Lord did not have the slightest intention of stopping. Before Alan could figure out what it was going to do, the water flowing by his side became hurried and fierce. Allen had to stick to the Lord's shell so that he wouldn't be washed away by the current. Alan opened his eyes and saw that he was already in a tunnel. At the end of the Underground Lake, there was another passage leading to another place. The Holy Lord dragged him swiftly through the tunnel. After seven or eight turns, they finally arrived at the exit.
Alan finally calmed down after the water flowed out of the exit. At this moment, the Holy Lord rose to the surface of the water. A moment later, Alan floated to the surface of the water. He opened his mouth and took a deep breath. He felt that the air was incomparably refreshing and did not feel the slightest bit of humidity beneath the ground. He almost thought that he had arrived at the ground. He raised his head and saw that there was a bright light above his head, and the cries of birds and beasts could be heard in his ears. However, after his eyes adapted to the environment, Alan saw that he was still underground. The bright light actually came from the crystal clusters on the towering stone pillars. Similar to those seen at the bottom of the lake, there were also nameless clusters of red and blue crystals that depended on each other.
However, the number of crystal clusters in this space was much larger, so it illuminated the space as bright as day.
The water rippled.
Alan lowered his head and saw that the Holy Lord was constantly moving away, leaving behind only a long and flat waterway on the surface of the water.
There was still a large lake behind the Earth Lake. This lake was much larger than the one outside, and there was almost no edge to it. Large natural stone pillars rose from the lake, pointing upwards. The dome was dim, occasionally flickering with fluorescence. It was unknown how high it was.
There were several islands in the lake. The island was lush and green. The cries of those birds and beasts came from these islands. In the distance, the sound of water rumbled. A silver belt descended vertically from the top of the mountain wall, smashing into the surface of the lake and exploding into mist.
Allen was surprised, but he was not idle. He swam to the nearest island with both hands and feet. There was a sandy beach between the island and the lake. Alan walked up the beach from the water. On the other side of the beach was dense jungle. He drilled into the jungle and discovered that the trees here were exceptionally tall, with strange flowers and grasses everywhere. Occasionally, a flock of birds would fly over the forest. Occasionally, beasts as big as buffalo would pass by the forest. They would neither dodge nor attack Alan when they saw him. They were more curious.
Alan stopped and walked through the jungle to the other side of the island more than an hour later. This island is really small, but the islands in front are slightly bigger. Alan rested for a moment on the beach and went into the water again to swim on another island.
The island was much larger, and Alan found a strange flower on it. Its buds did not spit out stamens, but round crystals. These red crystals piled up together, giving off an attractive fragrance of flowers.
The birds and beasts on the island seemed to feed on these crystals. Alan saw a large bird clenching a fist-sized cluster of bright red crystals with his own eyes. Then, he closed his mouth and began to eat. A bright red juice was left in his mouth, emitting a faint fragrance.
Alan simply took off a cluster of crystals and used his fingers to pinch the cluster of crystals to explode. He was instantly amazed. This thing looked like some kind of crystal, but the outer wall was thin and brittle, and it exploded with a single pinch. Alan took a sip and felt the fragrance of flowers filling his mouth. After the juice entered his throat, it was refreshing. When it entered his stomach, it caused his Origin Energy to boil slightly. Alan was shocked. The juice actually contained a lot of Origin Energy. It didn't have any attributes. It was just pure Origin Energy, but it was a perfect supplement. Not only could this thing satisfy one's hunger, it could also replenish one's Origin Energy consumption. It was simply inconceivable.
Now, it seemed that this thing was not a crystal, but a crystal fruit.
Alan simply picked up more crystals and threw them into the spatial wrist wheel in case of an emergency. After gathering a batch of crystal fruits, he continued to walk deeper into the island. At the center of the island, he found an empty space. This empty space did not seem to be natural, because Alan felt a destructive energy the moment he walked in. However, this energy was very weak, and it was unknown how long it had been left. However, it was very tyrannical, causing the surrounding space to be completely barren. It was in stark contrast to the vitality of the island.
In the distance, there was a very abrupt hill. The ground on the island was basically flat. Alan didn't see any short mountains or anything like that, so this hill looked a little strange. He walked over, reached out to touch the hill, and threw down a pile of sand and stones. Alan felt even more strange. He swept his hands, and after flying through the sand and rocks, a piece of metal armor appeared in front of Alan's eyes.
Alan stepped back slightly and gently pressed down on the surface of the "hill". The entire hill shook with a loud rumble, constantly shedding large amounts of sand and stones, revealing something similar to the cabin of an airship. As he thought, this was not a hill, but the wreckage of an airship. It landed on this open space and was covered in gravel for many years before it formed such a hill.
The cabin was badly damaged. There were many gaps in the outer armor, and the interior was already in a mess. Alan drilled into the cabin and saw a few corpses. The corpse was heading in the direction of the gate, obviously trying to climb out of the cabin before dying, but unfortunately, they all died here. The corpses had already been skeletalized, and their flesh and blood had long since disappeared. Only their skeletons and skulls were left. It was difficult for Alan to tell which planet they came from. On their armor, there were traces of sharp cuts on their backs, indicating that they had been attacked to death by some sort of attack. Unfortunately, Alan had no idea how long ago this had happened, and he had no way of knowing what had attacked them.
The structure of the cabin and the armor of the corpse were all types that Alan had never seen before. However, it was clear that these people were not Barbarians, because the skeletal structures of the corpses were identical, and they should be male in terms of bone structure, which was a far cry from the Barbarians.
Alan was greatly surprised. He didn't expect to find visitors from outside the planet in the mountains of the Western Regions. He didn't know who they were, why they came, or how they died in such a place.
After a round, he didn't find anything valuable, and Alan retreated.
On the other side of the island, it took Alan more than two hours to cross the island in the lake. He went to the lake to catch some fish, picked up some wood branches, and began to roast the fish by fire. Although the crystal fruits in the spatial wrist wheel could satisfy his hunger, they were more useful in replenishing his Origin Energy. Alan didn't want to waste them for nothing. Moreover, the fragrance of the crystal fruit juice reached his nose, but in the end, he felt that it was a little faint, far less delicious than the roasted fish meat.
After roasting the fish, Alan tore off a piece of golden fish and sent it to his mouth. Sure enough, the fragrance of the fish was pervasive, but there was no seasoning. It tasted a little bad.
After he ate a few grilled fish, the water in front of him started to bubble up. A moment later, the water started to boil like boiling water. Alan narrowed his eyes and clapped his hands. "You should do some exercise to digest the food after dinner. You can pour it when you come."
A blue glow emerged from the water. Suddenly, hundreds of water columns exploded on the surface of the water. The Behemoth Holy Lord emerged from the water, revealing half of his body. It was attracted by Allen's flames, and when it saw that it was Allen, it immediately remembered that one of its claws had been cut off by Allen. At this moment, the Holy Lord was furious. It had no natural enemies in this underground space, and it had been ruling for an unknown period of time. He was worshipped by the barbarians in the cave, but he had never suffered a loss, let alone chopping off one of his claws. Now that the enemy had met, the Holy Lord roared angrily. The Tyrannosaurus rex opened its mouth and spat out a deep blue ribbon of light at Alan.
Alan grabbed the last roasted fish and dozens of meters away. The light ribbon flew through the air, ploughing through the beach and into the jungle. A moment later, a patch of trees fell, and the forest birds flew away in shock. Seeing that the ribbon of light hadn't hit Allen, the Holy Lord used its remaining giant claw to smash towards Allen's head. Allen flashed out of the attack range of the giant claw. There was still time to finish eating the roasted fish in three or two strokes. When he spat out the fish bone, he already appeared in front of the Holy Lord's head. Then, he raised his arm and punched the Tyrannosaurus rex's nose. When the tip of the fist hit, he suddenly spat out strength, causing a circle of gray-white ripples to appear.
The Holy Lord let out an earth-shattering scream as he tilted his head back, causing his entire upper body to plunge back into the water. Alan landed on the beach and saw the Holy Lord floating motionlessly on the surface of the water. Seeing that it was still breathing, he knew that he had just fainted.
Alan shrugged and went straight back into the forest.
Although the fish was fragrant, it was not enough. Alan decided to roast it with a wild beast.
