Edge of the Apocalypse -
Chapter 1264: Wish to See from Afar
The night was silent.
The flames had long since been extinguished, and Alan was leaning against the wall of the cave, closing his eyes and sleeping. If nothing unexpected happened, he would not wake up until the hourglass turned to the daytime zone. But when there was only a third of the sand left on the black end of the hourglass, he suddenly opened his eyes. It was not that he had woken up early, but that his heart was suddenly throbbing. He looked at the dark red light screen at the entrance of the cave, as if something was calling out to him from outside. It was an indescribable feeling, and Trisley was not asleep. After all, this was the Land of the Lost. Everything could happen here, so how could she allow herself to sleep soundly? As soon as she sensed Alan's anomaly, she immediately lifted her blanket. When he got up, the two curved blades were already in his hands.
She opened her lips, only to see Alan shake his head.
"Stay here," said Alan. "I'll go out and take a look." Without giving Tracy any room to refuse, he picked up Red King and got out of the cave.
As he emerged from the protective screen, he felt the temperature plummet. Of course, to Allen now, such a low temperature was nothing. At this moment, the snowy plains were still dim. There were twinkling bands of light above his head, and the distant sky was shrouded in absolute darkness. The wind blew and let out a low whistle on the open snowy plains. Alan swept his gaze around and found nothing unusual. At this moment, his heart skipped a beat, and he immediately turned towards the northwest.
His pupils dilated, and the snowy plains quickly retreated in his eyes. Finally, his gaze landed on a piece of ice rock in the distance, as well as a pair of barefoot feet standing on top of the ice rock.
Just the sight of these barefoot feet made his throat dry and his tongue dry. Trisley was already a very attractive woman, but the bare feet in her eyes were enough to drive any man crazy just by the lines of her scallop-like toes and feet. Alan took a deep breath and calmed down. He discovered that his feet were actually fair. It should be known that both men and women in the Baltic have dark complexions, while women have lighter complexions. Like Trisley, her complexion would be much lighter than a man's, but no Bar woman would have fair skin.
This pair of barefoot skin in front of him was white, just like the color of milk. Alan narrowed his eyes and looked up. Behind a shocking curve of his calf was a broken skirt. It could be seen that the dress was exquisitely crafted, but it was badly worn, and the decorations became uneven, yet there was an indescribable beauty to it. After passing through the thrilling waist line, a pair of peaks that almost came out of his collar made Alan almost stop breathing. On that large expanse of fair skin, there was a neck as graceful as a swan, and finally a beautiful face that was almost perfect.
Just looking at her face, it was hard to tell how old she was. She had a goddess-like negotiating temperament in her brows, and her slightly frowned expression was like that of a girl who had encountered a difficult problem. Alan stayed on this face for three seconds before he slightly pulled back his gaze and saw the woman's entire body. Under the dim snowy night, she stood on the ice like a goddess. A cold wind blew and her long skirt floated. A faint light overflowed from her body, like a high-grade gem emitting elegant fluorescence in the darkness.
It was impossible to describe her beauty. If she had to, Alan felt that she was more like those beautiful nebulas in the universe. They were magnificent and colorful, but at the same time, they were filled with a sense of fantasy. Just like this woman in front of her, she was so beautiful that it was unreal, like a dream.
Then Alan saw her two full and moist lips gently open and close, and then a voice softly sounded in his ear, "You are not him, who are you?"
His voice was like the wind blowing in the evening, making people intoxicated.
Alan resisted the impulse to drag her into his embrace, which he found inconceivable. He didn't even have the impulse to seduce him naked. It could be seen that this woman's charm was astonishing.
"Who are you?" She asked.
Alan calmed down and opened his mouth to answer, "I should have asked you this question."
It was only after he finished speaking that he felt ridiculous. The distance between the two sides was so far. He asked himself that he did not have the ability of a woman to send his voice to each other's ears from such a distance. The strange thing was that the woman seemed to have heard it, and her voice sounded in Alan's ears again, "You actually don't know who I am? Then it seems that you really aren't him …"
"But why do you have his aura? Answer me!" His voice suddenly turned cold, and the gentle breeze-like aura disappeared. Instead, it was replaced by a lonely and cold smell, just like the ancient aura emitted by the ten thousand-year-old cold river.
Alan frowned and said, "I don't understand what you mean."
"You won't tell me?" The woman apparently understood another meaning: "It doesn't matter, I'll see for myself."
Her eyes suddenly bloomed with a dazzling cold light. Not only did it illuminate space, even the entire snowy plain was invisible. Alan subconsciously turned away and closed his eyes. Even so, he still felt as if his eyes were a vast expanse of white. After a few seconds, the dazzling light gradually disappeared. Alan opened his eyes and found that he was no longer on the snowy plains. He stood on a lonely land. Looking around, he could see that this was an empty plain. There were no objects above the surface, no rocks, no trees, nothing, only a deathly silent land.
He raised his head, the sky bright red as blood. Behind those clouds, fiery red lava that was like blood poured down. They fell onto the ground, causing an explosion, causing a blazing wind, bringing with it a destructive smell.
This was a world that was dying!
Alan calmed down. He was certain that this place was definitely not Agares or even any other planet in the universe. This should be the inner world of some will, the spiritual world of that woman. Otherwise, there wouldn't have been such a phenomenon. That burst of intense light just now was probably some sort of ability of that woman. That ability had pulled his mind into this world of will. Alan snorted. He had entered and exited the spiritual world of that powerful will in the depths of his genes many times. Although this woman was strangely strong, Alan did not think that she could be stronger than that ancient will.
He waited quietly, wanting to see what the woman was up to.
A moment later, there was a loud rumble in the sky, "I was surprised that your willpower was strong enough to maintain your body in my world. But this will only make you more painful."
Alan raised his head. The fire clouds in the sky twisted, forming a woman's face. Even though it was a face that had been magnified countless times, the clouds still carved out fine lines for it. Her beauty was still impeccable.
"Who exactly are you? What do you want to do!" Alan shouted.
"I want to tear your body apart and look into the depths of your will. Or, if you open your mind, you don't have to suffer too much, and I save a lot of time." The woman's voice was filled with arrogance.
"Impossible!" Allen said resolutely.
There was no need to think about this. Opening up one's mind was equivalent to exposing oneself naked to a woman's gaze, or even worse. Women could easily see through the secrets in his heart, even the things that Alan had forgotten. At that time, all his weaknesses would be exposed, and women could easily control him.
Alan had rejected even Orfasis's offer of such a "discount", so why would he agree to this mysterious woman's almost unreasonable request at this moment?
The woman did not seem surprised at all. Her voice rumbled in the sky, "Then my people will tear your consciousness into pieces. At that time, your will will will be shattered. Even if your physical body does not die, it is no different from a walking corpse … Unfortunately …"
Her face was hidden in the clouds.
Then, the earth began to rumble. This vast plain that did not undulate began to bulge with clay bags. Then, black figures crawled out of the clay bags. They were all Barbarians, and their appearances were different. Only the dark red color of their skin could be regarded as their common characteristic. The black figure occupied the entire world. Alan looked around and saw that the densely packed Bar warriors occupied all of his field of vision, as if women had gathered all of Agares' warriors.
Alan looked back, but there was nothing behind him. He thought for a moment and suddenly laughed, "So it is. Even in your world, I have a place."
This could be seen from the fact that Alan could maintain his body in a woman's spiritual world. It was conceivable that this woman possessed a very powerful spiritual power, otherwise, she would not be able to forcefully pull out Alan's will and throw herself into it. She had just said that she was surprised that Alan could maintain his figure. In other words, if someone else entered this world, they would probably be ground into pieces by a woman's mental energy, so that a woman could easily explore the other party's inner world.
However, Allen retained his body, which meant that Allen's will was so strong that even a woman's spiritual power could not easily destroy it. With the spiritual energy she displayed, a large number of troops could easily surround and annihilate Alan. However, the land behind Allen was completely silent, and no Bar warriors had appeared. That was equivalent to saying that Alan also had a certain advantage in her world. Thinking of this, Alan thought and raised his arm.
The ground in front of him began to tremble, emitting traces of fire. Unlike the way the Bar clan appeared from the bulged earth bag, the fiery ground in front of Allen collapsed, revealing a fiery red space below. It was as if there was an abyss of flames beneath the earth. At this moment, something crawled out of the abyss world.
It was a Fire Horned Demon.
When it reached the ground, it let out a long howl towards the sky.
The earth trembled violently.
Fire continued to shine, and Allen's army drilled out of the ground. Rows of Fire Horned Demons blocked Alan's line of sight. Their fiery red figures became a gorgeous color in this world. After the Fire Horned Demon, groups of Fire Boys soared into the sky. They lingered above the Fire Horned Demon's head, making strange expressions towards the Barbarians over there.
The sound of horse hooves came again. Alan turned around and saw that groups of Blaze Knights were riding their horses. Behind the knights were the Fire Guards dressed in rock armor. Those who were dragging huge weapons came to Ellen's side and used their thick bodies to build a steel defensive line for Ellen.
The ground was still shaking, and Alan saw a huge clay bump rising up. After the earth bag rose a hundred meters, it suddenly exploded. A black-red volcano rose from inside. This volcano was flowing with lava, and the crater was spewing out fiery flames and thick smoke. The volcano pushed the ground a thousand feet away, and the thick smoke sprayed out spread out, slowly forming a gray cloud in the sky. A long howl resounded from within the gray clouds. Suddenly, flames shot down. Then, a bird and beast whose entire body was burning broke through the clouds and descended. Behind it, there were even more fire birds. One could see that these firebirds had no flesh, only a skeleton. Flames continuously sprayed out from their bones, enriching their bodies.
After flocks of firebirds appeared, smaller hills rose near the volcano. The flames in the hill exploded and a huge claw extended out from one of the hills. This claw was about the size of a hill. The giant claw grabbed the ground and pulled hard, pulling out a giant beast that only had a skeleton. As soon as the giant beast came out of the ground, it immediately spat out flames from the depths of its skeleton. It turned out to be a flaming giant beast.
The Fiery Behemoths only crawled out of the hills. Hundreds of them took large strides towards the battlefield. The magnificent scene was enough to stop people from breathing.
Then the headless giant, the turret, and some other unnamed combat units joined his army. At this moment, the Fire Horned Demons in front of them were in a commotion. They rushed out of the way, but a hundred-meter-long and wide earth bag rose from the ground. Sand and stones poured down, but inside was a huge fireball. The moment this fireball appeared, it emitted an awe-inspiring might. It was actually the Abyss Flame, Mitinus!
Alan was quite surprised. Then, a huge energy surged up from the left and right of the army. The two armies on both sides were also in a commotion, and two new kings broke out from the ground. It was only at this moment that Allen's army had gathered. The Burning Army, led by three Monarchs, had gathered low-and high-level combat units. The army of more than a million was facing the Bar army from afar.
After a moment of confrontation between the two armies, the Bar army began to charge. Their army did not say anything about the distribution of arms. Without any tactics, the entire army launched a surprise attack from the very beginning. As a result, a black flood tide rolled over from the ground. Alan stood on top of a giant beast of flames and looked at the land that had become a battlefield. The number of vanguards alone was unknown. The black peak line stretched from left to right, covering almost the entire horizon. When the frontline was pushed in, the ground seemed to be swallowed up inch by inch.
Even Allen couldn't ignore the tremendous pressure.
He had already gathered quite a few troops, but they were still far inferior to the army of women. If the number of troops on both sides was ten, then women accounted for seven points, and Alan only got three of them. Alan's army was like a red island in a black sea when the black tide came. However, his heart was filled with fighting spirit. From the number of troops, he could intuitively show the difference between the strength and weakness of the two sides' mental energy. However, a battle at the mental level was a battle of will and also a battle of will. The strength of one's mental strength was important, but the strength of one's will was also a factor that could not be ignored.
As long as he had an unyielding will, Alan might not lose!
Without hesitation, Alan raised his finger on the Fiery Beast. The Fire Horned Demon in the front row immediately let out a roar and charged forward with both hands and feet. The Fire Boy in the sky also flew forward with a loud squeak, and then the army advanced step by step. Compared to the Bar army, Allen's Burning Army's advancement was much more stratified. Under his instructions, the vanguard, main force, and two-winged forces were clearly divided, and the division of arms was clear.
The Fire Horned Demon and the Fire Boy's vanguard only moved forward. The turrets behind them and some other combat units with long-range attacks began to attack. As a result, streaks of fire streaked across the battlefield, crossing over the Fire Horned Demon and the Fire Boy and landing in the enemy's army first. Throughout the battlefield, hundreds of fireballs rushed to bloom. Then, hundreds of pillars of fire sprayed out, causing the temperature on the battlefield to immediately rise in a straight line.
After two rounds of attacks, Allen's frontline collided with the opposite line of the Kuroshio. As a result, the two colors, black and red, erupted into the most intense collision on the ground. Almost at the instant of the collision, thousands of soldiers died. The place where the two fronts collided immediately became a blank space. That kind of shock was indescribable.
Only after the initial collision did the battle truly begin.
Tracy gritted her teeth and stepped out of the screen. Alan had been out for too long, but there had been no movement outside. She couldn't sit still any longer and decided to go outside to see what was going on. When they came out of the light screen, they felt a chill at first, but for an expert at Tracy's level, the low temperature was no longer fatal. Then she saw Alan. He was not far from the entrance of the cave. He stood not far from the entrance of the cave, beside a pile of snow beasts, facing northwest.
"What the hell?" '"Master, is there something unusual?" Trisley walked over to Ellen, confused.
Alan made no move.
Trisley was shocked and couldn't care less about dodging to Ellen's side. She looked at Ellen, her eyes blank, but luckily, her breathing, body temperature and other vital signs were still normal, so Trisley heaved a sigh of relief. She waved her hand in front of Alan. Alan turned a blind eye to it. Trisley frowned and said, "What's wrong?"
She tried to look to the northwest, but she saw nothing except a snowy plain that rarely undulated in the dim light. Trisley could only shake her head, planning to take Alan back to the cave first.
At this moment, a flame lit up in the southwest direction. Within the flames, there seemed to be a figure galloping towards them.
Trish frowned, picked up Alan and ran into the cave. After placing him on the cushion, she came out of the cave again. At this moment, the voices of people approached, and from there came the laughter of pride and the roar of battle. It sounded like two groups of people were chasing after each other on the snowy plains.
Who could it be? She thought.
