Chapter 79: Chapter 79: Titan The Boss Mob

He was washing me. I just stared into the tree line.

The new skill: Mana Sponge, allowed me to get 1% worth of mana from every human on my territory.

It was still Level 1.

"Titan," I whispered. Did he love me? Or was I just a steppingstone? I wanted to ask him that, but I just closed my mouth shut.

"I am thinking about us, Sylvan. All of us," he brushed my lower region with the washing cloth, but I didn’t feel anything from that.

I was spent. That bird was not going to fly in the coming days. Of that much, I was certain.

"Who is us?"

I was tired, and sore, and naked.

Something I had never expected I’d be after someone lied to me. Tricked me into becoming stronger at the price of human lives.

I knew full well that it was just one percent now, but the more tourists were going to come into my lands, the stronger the skill was going to be.

How was I supposed to cook for these people, while making them sick by sucking away their mana? It was cruel! Inhumane!

"Sylvan, my love," he took my hand in his. I didn’t resist. "You are the one who gave me spicy food. To a mana creature made from cooking ingredients, cooked with your mana..., well... and now..."

He leaned in, nuzzling my nape.

"Aren’t you washing me right now?" I asked him, even still, I was getting warmer, despite the cold water around me.

He was... a beast.

The rest of the harem members were calm during the act, playful.

He didn’t give me time to think. He didn’t ask questions, and when he did, he knew how to get me so hot that I’d scream yes.

He was no different from the Titan who had been tearing down the wolf packs in the area.

I didn’t know what it meant to me that he was approaching being in love with me with the same viciousness, as I believed back then, as killing his rivals.

"Sylvan..." He murmured; this time gentler. "You are my everything."

I didn’t want to believe him. He had made a monster out of me.

I wanted to kick him! To scream!

But I knew that he was going to bite something off. Something that I needed.

I was still his dungeon core. This madness which had taken over him had to end.

"Let go of me, that is an order," I saw it in his eyes that he wasn’t going to give up.

Far from it.

His smirk told me that my forcing him to chase me was going to make it all the sweeter for him.

He was evil.

It was as simple as that.

"I love you," he placed the washing cloth in my hand, then he stood up and turned around. He was going to guard me... like a knight.

I knew that I couldn’t tell my lovers what he had done. How he had taken control of me. How he had awoken something dark and primal in me, which I had never wanted to have.

Something that Methuselah had told me to never use.

I was a nymph.

There were the light nymphs. Apple, pear, acorn... all nice and lovely. Living there, where sunlight, water, and nice soil were a given.

And then there were the dark nymphs.

Nymphs, who grew in areas like my birthplace. Harsh lands. Almost no water. No company...

Extreme heat or extreme cold, one of the two.

But Methuselah had always wanted me to be kind. To be good.

How could I be when my very presence was going to make people sick?

"Titan, you are to remain in that cave until I tell you otherwise," I ordered him. I heard as he growled but paid him no mind. "Where are my clothes?"

He pointed at the cave.

I shuddered, but I still got up. I had to own up to what I had done.

My naked feet took me through the soft grass and back to his lair.

A place I wasn’t going to let him out of.

He was going to remain here. No harm was going to befall the humans.

Even if it meant that they would tear the roots of the Tree of Memories.

Because...

I wasn’t like that.

Aron promised that I could remain kind.

Titan was not going to make my soulmate go back on his word! Titan didn’t matter!

I looked around. My clothes were neatly folded next to a pile of skulls.

There was a small box on top of them.

My curiosity got the better of me. Oh, sure, I knew that the box was from Titan.

From whom else?

But I still wanted to see what I had created. I opened the box...

Yellow, crispy, cheese buns stared back at me. Looking like muffins, for all that the person who had baked them was a monster.

Desmond couldn’t eat such things.

But I wasn’t in the Tree of Memories. I was in the Cave of Sin, as I called it.

Titan was a disease I had to cut out of myself.

I turned the cave into a dungeon. Made him a dungeon core.

Said a prayer for all those he was going to kill.

Still, after I dressed, I took the box with me. I passed by him, he, who was still standing guard at the spot where I had left him.

The one who got away was I, I told myself.

It still felt that by setting him free, I had lost a part of myself. The skill he had tricked me in, had given me through making me lose my mind to his passion, was still in me.

I was still a danger.

"I wish you shelter from the cold," I had to tell him goodbye. He loved me.

I couldn’t bring myself to love him back. Not the way he was.

"I’ll come visit, love," he whispered.

He was a bad boy. I had never understood the appeal. For all that the three Boliari and Aron should be bad boys, they were sweethearts.

I knew at that moment that he would be my dirty secret.
